The chucked was breaded and fried and was a perfectly spiced ! My partner had a salad which was huge and loaded with grilled chicken, looked deeelish ! I really like this restaurant. I met a friend for dinner and decided on the French dip. it was perfect! It was a heaping pile of roast beef on top of a garlic wedge. Just delicious! I also really enjoyed the side salad with a nice balsamic dressing. My only suggestion is that they offer a holiday cocktail. Many restaurants are offering all kinds of holiday martinis and festive drinks. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get a chocolate martini or something with Bailey's. that would be the perfect dessert ending for a great meal! read more

I was visiting my daughter and son-in law. I am from Minnesota, admittedly am NOT an expert in fresh seafood. But I have been eating for seventy two years and do know good food when I taste it, esp. beef or fresh water fish. Minnesota is, after all, the land of ten thousand lakes. I had the pleasure of visiting Wellington's on June 8, 2022, twice. Once for lunch and later for dinner. At lunch i had the fresh lobster roll and a small bowl of their clam chowder. The lobster roll was well prepared , fresh and very good. But the clam chowder spoiled me for any other clam chowder, ever. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. Very Highly recommended. In the evening we came back for the prime rib special. The special was very well prepared and quite good. The service was above and beyond. I've prime rib as good or even slightly better near home as I live in the midwest where beef is king. But the clam chowder was really exceptional. The staff was attentive, very skilled and professional. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. I wish I had a restaurant of this quality near my residence. This is definitely a neighborhood place. It's casual and unassuming. You walk into the bar and make your way to the side dining room. The staff was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful for us first timers. We started with the wings, cooked perfectly, crisp, medium heat with a slight sweetness that made the finger lickin' good. I got the overeasy burger, medium and a side salad instead of fries and a Cosmo. My burger was cooked perfectly and the egg too, great flavor on the burger! Walked and was quickly greeted. We ordered our drinks and some apps. The nachos were good, my husband said his chicken dish was okay. My sprite or 7up was flat, but they didn't have more of the flavored vodka that I drink, so I just drank it. The karaoke was fun to listen too. However, at around 10:30 it got so hot in there. The heat was cranked up. Some people asked for it to be lowered, but the bartender said she wasn't changing it because she got cold every time the door opened. We finished our drinks and left. The food is excellent. The staff great. My only complaints are: 1. We went on Wednesday 12/1/21 and Wednesday is supposed to be prime rib night. ( discounted price) the prime rib was fantastic BUT we were charged full price. 2. We paid by credit card and when the slip came to sign, there was an $8.95 surcharge on the bill. No explanation at all. I asked our server and she told me it was a surcharge for using a credit card. I had not seen on the menu, if it was printed there, anything about a surcharge for credit card payment. We have never had this charge before in all the times we have eaten here. A 4% surcharge when Amex only charges 3% to businesses?? If your special discount nights have changed, please update your website and inform your patrons of the menu change and the credit card surcharge. read more

They have a truck outside the restaurant for lunch and serve the best hot dog in the county. Hands down! They actually have toppings and the best chili I've had in years. I've always enjoyed coming here for a good meal and atmosphere, but I went recently on a Saturday night (and hadn't been there in a few months), but was extremely disappointed in the food and service. My table was ready when I arrived. It took forever for the waiter to take our orders and a long wait for the food. I was disappointed in the Lobster Bisque soup. Very thin, and no chunks of lobster at all. My mother in law ordered the chicken scarpriello with sweet peppers (there was a choice of hot or sweet peppers) and they served hot peppers with her chicken and we told the waiter 3 times to make sure she got sweet peppers. My husband ordered a special of Maine steamers and was disappointed with them. They were full of sand (despite the bowl of after to rinse them in). We were very happy with our UberEATS delivery from here. They have a pretty broad menu of of American/pub food. The burger was customizable and particularly tasty, as were the accompanying fries. The buffalo shrimp app was very good and not overly breaded, which was great. Caesar salad was big. The clam chowder was lacking in clams and probably the only mildly disappointing item. Went to Wellington's for lunch today and had amazing PRIME RIB!!! I love prime rib and will travel for it. Making this even more incredible, the ginormous King Cut that I ordered was only $29!!! That is unheard of!! Sorry for all the exclamation points in this post, but I am truly excited that such a place exists, and that the inexpensive giant cut of prime rib was absolutely superb. The Queen Cut, which my wife and son ordered, were also HUGE and they loved theirs as much as I loved mine (only $23! WHAT?!) Also ordered and greatly enjoyed by the rest of the table were the pasta marinara and mussels fra diavolo. Our waitress, Allie (sp?), was just terrific. Couldn't have been friendlier, more accommodating or attentive. My wife and I have been to the bar, and even enjoyed their Friday Night Karaoke, this was the first time we had eaten there, and now it will most certainly not be the last! read more

Two friends and myself walked in last night for a drink. There happened to be a 10 year high school reunion going on. My friends and I are quite a bit older but we decided to stay for one anyway. There was a couple standing next to us at the bar who looked to be roughly our age so my female friend said to the female of the couple "I guess this is where the older people sit." in a friendly manner since obviously we were the oldest people there in a sea of people in their late 20s. The woman had a perplexed look on her face and very rudely said "what did you say?" My friend just said never mind and turned away. 5 minutes later, a man approaches me and asks if we were with the reunion. I told him no we just came for a drink. Its not like we snuck in and stole drinks, we walked in the front door and the bartender served us. He said he is the owner and someone said something to his wife and he wants us to leave now. I let him know we said absolutely nothing that should have upset his wife, we finished our drinks since we paid for them and left where the wife was outside in her car waving at us. I went with a friend last Saturday who lives in that area, overall it was pretty good, we had some Asian Dumplings that were very good and a bit crispy, cooked nicely. I also had the chicken pot pie which was good, I liked how it had some sort of bread like turnover on top it which was unique and good to dunk into the pot pie. My friend ordered the Steak Sandwich and some fries and said all was good. I'd definitely return and would recommend, the ambiance was nice, friendly staff and our Waitress did a very good job. I went to Wellington's recently with my sister and my boyfriend for a late lunch. The place was somewhat quiet when we arrived, but I think that was mostly because we were there at a weird time. We sat outside which was really nice. Our waitress was very personable with us. The menu was pretty good, not a huge selection but better than just a bar menu. This place is AWESOME!!! The food is outstanding - I had an amazing quinoa salad with grilled chicken. Everyone else loved their food too - burgers, wings nachos....you name it. There was not one unhappy person at the table. The amount of food was incredible. We all had enough for leftovers and it was SO good, I know I couldn't wait to eat my leftover salad just now. The bartender makes a mean dirty martini. The owner is gracious and makes you feel so welcome the second you walk in the door. I was looking forward to going here and did not have a good experience. The positives: the waitress was very attentive and nice. My husband also enjoyed his french dip sandwich. The negatives: no kid menu...so we ordered a plain cheese quesadilla for my son (just tortilla and cheese) and it was $10! It didn't even come with anything. The place before charged $10 for the kids menu which I thought was pricey but at least you got a side dish and sundae dessert for that price. Sheesh! The quesadilla was also dripping in grease. We get quesadillas all the time from various restaurants and I've never seen one so greasy. Then...my turkey burger was horrible. It was rubbery and I couldn't even get past 3 bites. The final bite even had a little piece of bone in it. It left me feeling sick the remainder of the day. What a nightmare! Really wanted a medium rare piece of prime rib. Reviews seemed decent for the newly reopened Wellington's. I even called ahead to make sure I could get this cut. They said they had it. We went in and had to ask for a table as there was no hostess. Bartender was kind enough to seat us. Waited at least 10 minutes before I had to get up and ask for someone to come over and get our drink/dinner order. We gave the waitress our entire order. We waited at least 10-15 minutes for our two drinks to be delivered and then another half hour for prime rib and burger. The prime rib was medium, not medium rare and the burger was medium well, not medium. We then waited another 10 minutes for ketchup and mustard. The burger was now cold. The prime rib was only fair and the broccoli overcooked. The burger's flavor was good. The waitress never bothered checking on the meal and we had to ask for a check. We then had to get up and find someone to take our card. The waitress had no clue. I'm a local resident and I will never go back there. read more
