Porterhouse for two, dude of mash potatoes & creamed spinach

The staff were so sweet, and the food is just delicious. We went for the porterhouse, with two yummy sides of mash potatoes and creamed spinach. There's a yummy basket of bread and my husband swears the butter is just better at a steakhouse. Our steak was the perfect temperature and we finally had a nice date night in a while. Will definitely be back!

My happy smile after enjoying lunch with a friend at Peter's Steakhouse.

Almost two years after opening I am so happy to report that Peter's Steakhouse is still upholding the standard for excellence in food and service that first won me over. The food remains excellent and the entire staff could not be more welcoming or helpful. Treat yourself selves to a meal or two at this exceptional local independently owned restaurant, and by all means check out the outstanding Italian specialties!

    Porterhouse for 3

We had a great time celebrating a friends birthday at Peter's last night. For appetizers we had the tuna tartare and the calamari. The calamari was light and fried perfectly with good flavor. We split the porterhouse for 3 and split the lobster Mac and cheese, the creamed spinach and the mushrooms. All 3 sides complemented the porterhouse perfectly. Besides the steak I think my favorite dish was the tartufo for dessert! If you like pistachio ice cream definitely get the tartufo!

Peter and Ari understand the concept of running a great steakhouse. Both have a lot of knowledge and experience on how to prepare, cater, and welcome guests. Friendly and sincere are their underlying traits. When I arrived, i dis not know Peter was actually greeting guests. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Felt at home immediately, and when I mentioned watching the NY Knicks basketball playoff game, he put me at a table where I can view the TV.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 1st warm and amazingly great smelling bread with butter was placed on the table. I can have just eaten the entire bread basket alone! When my buddy arrived, I placed an order for a mule, but with mezcal, and it was easily accommodated. Ari, our waiter and partner, was easy in conversing with. We wanted to have the Chateaubriand steak for two, since it's not easily available in most places. I wanted mine Med while my buddy wanted Med Well. Ari found a way to make it happen. The steaks came out perfect and tender. Ari suggested we accompany the steak with sauteed spinach and the potatoes. The potatoes were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and super delish!! Meanwhile Peter floated around from table to table making sure the guests were satisfied and the people dining already were definitely pleased. Peter also helped clearing tables of plates and other items. That's makes a good owner!! After dinner, my buddy and I shared the cheesecake and some coffee. We truly had an exceptional dining experience. No need to go all the way into Manhattan especially with the dumb congestion pricing, paying another hefty price to park as well. I live in Queens and it was easier to get here than midtown Manhattan. My buddy is already planning to take his dates here as well. What a great night and thank you, Peter and Ari!!

Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat and asparagus

Ate here today for dinner (9/15/24). The Good. The owner is very friendly and hands on with customers which is always a plus for setting the atmosphere. The place is clean and well taken care of. It's very quiet and intimate with a nice view of the roadway. For my entree, I had shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and asparagus; my son had spicy rigatoni with burrata; my husband had ribeye with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. We all agreed that our entrees were enjoyable The Not So Good. My lobster bisque had chunks of shrimp instead of lobster in it. I inquired of the owner, Peter, why that was the case and he said he would have to consult with his chef but was adamant that what I thought was shrimp was really lobster. Needless to say, he never came back to confirm one or the other and my husband told me to leave it alone. Nonetheless, the bisque was very flavorful. I just didn't want shrimp in my lobster bisque. As an aside, that exact situation happened to me at Chez Palimintari in White Plains, NY and I did not give them a pass for trying to pass off shrimp in my lobster bisque. I confronted the waiter who confirmed they had run out of lobster so the chef substituted shrimp in the lobster bisque. I sent the bisque back immediately and asked the waiter to remove the item from my bill because it's disingenuous to do that. Besides, what if I had been allergic to shrimp? What then? I would have had an emergency room situation on my hands. That is not okay. The other downside to dining here is that the wait time was a tad bit long. From the time we sat down to the time we got our meal it was two hours. It took about 45 minutes for me to get my lobster bisque (which is why I decided not to send it back to the kitchen PLUS I was starving because it was already 4:30pm and I had not eaten all day). It took then another 30-45 minutes to get the entrees so if you decide to dine here make sure you are not pressed for time. As an aside, the owner did admit that Sundays are a hit and miss and because of that they don't have a lot of wait staff on Sundays. Also, he mentioned that he is a new business having recently opened on May 2024 so give him a chance to build up his clientele and staff. I plan to return on a week day since he has more wait staff during the week.

    Chilean sea Bass
    Joel M.

Second time coming here and it was perfect, appetizers clams, calamari, salad was delicious. The ribeye cooked exactly how we like it, and today Chilean Sea Bass is what I wanted. Service was on point and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the environment and decor is so inviting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Highly recommend this place to eat...

Holy cow! I rarely give 5 stars but this restaurant deserves it. Some restaurants focus on making money as an end goal and then how to fashion a plan to that end. On the other hand, others focus on a supreme dining experience-- the ambiance, the service, and the food...and know that with that as the end goal financial success will come. Peter and PS Steakhouse is in the latter category. The service is the very top notch and multiple staff come and check in on you often and dutifully. They are experienced and good at what they do. The ambiance is quintessetnial steakhouse with plenty of wood and comfy tables and chairs. The food-- is absolutely phenomenal. It reminded me of Peter Lugers in their heyday of late 1990s and early 2000s. the steak was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and perfectly served. The taste was out of this world. Hands down...end of story. Now the other diners had the spinach ravioli and that was delicious too. If you come with some vegetarian friends, they will not just be happy, they will be thrilled. They will also reflect very well on the generously sized, perfectly dressed caesar salad and spot-on proportions of croutons, parmesan cheese and dressing. I make my own caesar dressing from scratch and my own croutons too-- I can tell when a restaurant does so too. The did-- and the said was a a win. The German potatoes were delicious and they were this very nice amalgamation of potato chunks ensconced in more mashed-style potatoes. They were nicely broiled crisp and very nicely seasoned and extremely toothsome. I was itching to get the steak fries...next time! The creamed spinach was creamed to a velvety consistency. I make my own creamed spinach too, and I tried to go through in my head how they got them to be one velvety smooth and seasoned so well without too much pepper or salt. Guess what--maybe I won't make it myself anymore and just come here instead! :-) The bread was made in house and had this delicious and thick crust. I was hard to refrain myself from eating more than a small slice. Since it was soooo good. Maybe one idea is to build on it. Make some sour dough rolls too and put them in the basket with a medley of different butters; and, of course charge for that. Finally, if you do come, there is a valet so don't fret about parking. So, in short--I really would suggest giving this wonderful new restaurant a try. You will be glad you did!
