Do NOT Buy From Wells Auto Group (WAG) My wife and I purchased a vehicle from WAG on March 12, working with Justin Conway. We were told the car was being inspected and detailed, and waited in the lobby until it was ready. On the test drive, we were taken on a short, pre-determined route (four right turns around the dealership). Shortly after buying the car, we noticed a metal-on-metal scraping sound when turning the steering wheel hard to the left - the test drive route makes sense now. We brought it to Honda of Burleson for service, who confirmed the car had pre-existing damage to the control arms, bearings, and brake rotor. The vehicle has been there for nearly a week, waiting for service. The photos we received from Honda clearly show a gouged brake rotor--something that any proper inspection would have caught, since brake components are a basic part of every safety inspection. That leaves us with two possibilities: the car was never inspected, or the inspection was done negligently or dishonestly. Since discovering the issue, I've contacted multiple people at WAG. I've been polite and reasonable in requesting that WAG cover the repairs, which our "bumper to bumper" warranty specifically excludes (pre-existing issue exception). I've been ignored. I've called, emailed, and waited over an hour and fifteen minutes on hold to speak with a sales manager--who never answered. Justin mentioned that WAG might buy the car back, but not at the price we paid just a few weeks ago. After all of this, I'm told by another salesman that the General Manager will contact me. Hours go by with no contact, so I call again and am transferred to Shaun who claims to be a sales manager. It's then that I realized I've already talked to Shaun over the phone without knowing he was a sales manager. He pretends like this is the first he's heard of the issue despite having talked to me over the phone, having received emails from me, and despite his staff claiming to have "forwarded [my] messages to a manager". It gets better, AFTER introducing himself as a sales manager, Shaun reveals later on the call that he is actually the General Manager. Makes sense, I would want to hide the fact that I was the GM of WAG too. He proceeds to tell me he doesn't have the authority to buy the vehicle back - even though in the same minute of telling me this he claims he buys 600+ cars a month. What started as a polite request for the dealer to make things right by covering pre-existing damage found in less than a month of ownership is now going to end up being a lawsuit. I've gathered enough information to take legal action. That is what we are going to do. Save yourself the trouble, stay away from Wells Auto Group. UPDATE: We have now filed complaints with BBB, DMV, NHTSA, and Texas Attorney General. We have also been in touch with local law enforcement. We don't want anyone else to be put in danger by unknowingly driving a vehicle with major damage to critical components.

I came with my son, who was buying his first car, so this was an important experience for us. The selection of vehicles was solid, which is a plus. On the positive side, all paperwork was completed accurately, and there were no problems with financing or insurance once everything was finalized. Overall, decent inventory, but the express process and customer service need improvement.

Enter Car Max! No hagling, the price is the price. We were looking to get a good used pickup truck and after searching online for a few months we found one at the McKinney Car Max. We have always had our financing prearranged with our credit union or bank if we needed to take a loan and found it's good to have that information in your back pocket so you can compare your what they have to offer. We were met with a pleasant young man named Griffen and he was such a delight to work with. We took the truck for a test drive and meanwhile they were assessing our car to see what trade in offer could be made. We had already looked up the Kelly Blue Book value so we had a range of what to expect. The test drive was a success and we decided we wanted the truck. The trade in offer for our current vehicle was fair and thousands more than a couple other local dealers had offered to us. We completed all the required paperwork online. The entire process was so smooth without any embarrassing haggling. We have used Car Max in the past to sell them a car without buying and that was a positive experience as well. We highly recommend Car Max and Griffen was an excellent sales guy, no pressure but all about customer service.

I purchased a vehicle under the impression that it included a 3-month or 4,500-mile warranty. Because we were in a hurry, we trusted their word and completed the purchase quickly. However, once we got home and requested the warranty documentation, they refused to provide it, claiming the warranty only applied if the vehicle was purchased at the full listing price. We were also promised, through a very convincing sales talk, that the gas tank would be filled "as any dealership would do." Instead, I had to stop for gas immediately just to make it home. In addition, they stated that the vehicle had undergone a "170-point inspection," yet only two days after purchase, the car was already requesting additional oil, raising serious concerns about the quality of the inspection and the vehicle's overall condition. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend exercising caution and choosing a more reputable, trustworthy dealership instead.
