Nuggets Kid's Meal (Fries & White Milk) $5.49 En route home after visiting my aunt, me & the kiddos were starving so my hubby stopped off at Wendy's just before we hit the Grapevine for a quick bite. Normally, we're traveling at night so it's cooler in the car & the kids are supposedly napping. We pulled in while they're transitioning from breakfast to lunch, & could actually have either or, but I wanted something a regular burger & got the Bacon Classic Combo. H had a Biggie Deal & a Kid's Meal for jr. My husband opted out of eating, sticking to his protein bar. I suggested he order a Biggie Deal to get a burger for himself & give the rest to our son, saving a couple of bucks & skimping on a toy that he doesn't care for. Our order was executed fairly quick since they were between shifts. The "Big" Bacon Classic wasn't so big that it satisfied my hunger. The burger was quite bland even with bacon (that was limp instead of crispy), with unmelted cheese & crisp lettuce that's a cool contrast to the hot patty. I ate about 2/3s & shared the rest with my husband. The kids had their meal, & got refills before we hit the road. Even though Wendy's is known for their fresh, never frozen beef patties, this bite left a lot to be desired even for fast food. Fast service & hot food... can't beat that for fast food! And Wendy's has the best value menu for their Biggie Deals even though it's not quite as satisfying for us adults. We normally stop off Wheeler Ridge for a restroom break & rarely eat during the break. Wendy's was the easier stop because their neighbor had a huge line even though they had just opened. I just need to settle our hunger pangs for an uneventful trip home, & Wendy's worked. Recommended: Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe Biggie Deal & 4 Pc. Nuggets Kid's Meal, though the Biggie Deal is a way better value. read more

This place had the best baconator and the best fries I've ever had at a Wendy's! Only reason why I docked one point is cause they didn't have any more coffee products in the evening. Not sure if it's a Wendy's thing or they just ran out of coffee but wanted to try the cold brew coffee that they had but didn't have any. Anyways, so glad we stopped here cause my fries were well seasoned and piping hot! And the baconator was delicious as if it was freshly made with love! read more

NO WAY TO THIS LOCATION! when you are traveling you don't want much but to be on your way. Let me just say this location is out of many of the basic items, like forks. We even had to ask for a spoon for our chili and then told rudely that they are on the self serve counter, which they weren't. Also forget about a salad at this location, no fork and they had to go to the back to produce it. Finally, don't order a soda they are flat and the floor is all wet because the machine is squirting at you. This will be the only time I come by this location. There are too many better places to eat that are better service and food at this rest area. read more

Best Wendy's ever we stopped here on a road trip with friends. coming out of the grape vine we were starving and Wendy's sounded good for some reason. when we walked in they had Spider man three playing on the TV. it was amazing! right at the funny Bully McGuire dancing scene. An amazing ambience for the meal. as all ten of us ordered the staff was extremely friendly and patient with all our questions. we even offered to tip them, but they refused! Amazing, modest service. our food was out extremely quick and was piping hot and fresh. I'll admit, my burger didn't look the prettiest (I ordered it lettuce wrapped) but it tasted superb! Everyone enjoyed the food and we had a great time hanging out and eating baconater fries while watching spider man three. truly an amazing Wendy's experience! read more

I'm not sure why this place/location only is rated 2 1/2 stars, but I think they're great. We always stop by Lebec to fill up on gas before driving up into the mountains on our way to and from the Bay Area on our way to visit family in SoCal. This spot is also convenient because its attached to the Petro/restrooms. On the other side you have Baskin Robbins ice cream shop as well as the Iron Skillet breakfast restaurant. We've only ever been to the Wendys when stopping by this Petro for a bathroom break. I decided to try their new Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger as well as their Salted Caramel Frosty. I really liked the Frosty, but it could have been less like softserve and a bit more frozen. The burger was fine, but the flavor was a bit one-dimensional. It all just merged into one flavor, when wanted the components to stick out from one another, mainly, there could be more of a tanginess to the sauce. I'm not sure when we'll be back but I'm sure we'll try the new items once again. read more

Yikes, this place should be shut down. Nuggets - they were at least a week old, they were like rocks and not very warm. It seems like they leave them out at night when they close and then just come back and heat them in the AM - but continue this cycle for weeks and maybe the 10 I got were from the back. I ate a couple but then had to toss them. Sauce - they were literally out of stock - on some of the sauces. How can you mismanage inventory for dipping sauces if you run a fast food chain? Are they giving out 1 sauce per nugget? Disappointing. -Spicy chicken burger - this wasn't actually bad and tasted mostly fresh but wasn't the exact hottest temp I've had before. Would have preferred to know they heated it a bit more. Lettuce wasn't the best, had to pull that off as it had red spots on it and I wasn't sure it was safe. Which also made me worry about the mayo. Also couldn't finish one of these. -Staff - the drive through lady was multi tasking a lot. We'd order something and she'd have a complete convo with someone else, then we'd wait - order something else - then she'd have another side convo. She never said "hold on" or "one minute" she just continuously talked to us and others all through the order. Doesn't the drive through speaker system have mute or something? The person working the drive through window here was terrible. We get two meals and he gives us one drink, a Diet Coke. We tell him he still needs to give us the regular Coke for the other meal so he gives us another Diet Coke. Then he asks if we want sauce. We said ranch so he puts about 15 ketchup packets in the bag, hands the bag over, and quickly closes the window. So we had to go into the restaurant and ask for ranch. I've been to this Wendy's location twice and both times it's been horrible! Whoever is doing the supplies order needs to get fired! There are no spoons or ketchup! The soda was flat and disgusting! They never have chocolate frosty's available!! And the food was outright disgusting! There was no seasoning on the burger patties or the fries! Both times I had an outrageously bland meal! Plus the restrooms were absolutely disgusting! The staff is rude and lazy. The overall ambience of the restaurant is terrible! The Wendy's down the highway several miles before this one doesn't have any of these problems I just mentioned. As a result I will be going to the other Wendy's from now on! Literally the most perfect drive thru experience I have ever had. Food was made fresh and hot. Had the honey butter chicken biscuit with wedges. So good. Will go back again. We always eat and use the restroom here when we travel and pass through several times a year sometimes as often as 2x every 2 months. This last stop was disappointing. The food was ok but the bathroom was lacking a good cleaning, toilet paper and paper towels. The dining room was also not very clean, my shoes were sticking to the floor baldly. One of the soda machines was not working and when every customer is given a cup to fill themselves and there is only one spout to fill cups, the line really backs up. The garbage cans inside were filled to the brim and all the garbage cans outside were overflowing. I'm giving 3 starts based on good experiences in the past but then time wasn't the best although could have been worse. Please hire staff who's specific duties are cleaning and maintenance. read more

Stopped here between long travel. Spent $44 on 3 meals. We asked for 3 shakes, but they were out of chocolate and vanilla. So I paid for 3 sodas only to find out the soda machine didn't work after we paid. I was told to "keep trying" until I found one that might work. I attempted 4 times to find out none worked. I then asked for a frozen lemonade and she said no she is not allowed to give us that. I paid $44 for food and drinks and they could not accommodate a frozen lemonade although all the drinks were out? We ended up with 3 waters. Good people - Went there Saturday night 10/8 10:30pm. The gentlemen working the drive-thru window were so good and so friendly. I asked if they could take a free fries coupon (I didn't look at the expiration before handing it over) and after checking it out, they asked if I was getting anything else. I said a Coke. They fresh fried up some french fries and gave me my Coke, asked if we were driving home (I guess my family and I looked haggard) and wished me well with almost a little prayer motion. No charge. I wish I'd handed them a tip right then and there but I drove off. The fries were perfect as was the Coca-Cola formula. Because these guys were so cool, I'm going to assume the owners/managers are cool. I'll stop here again on the next road trip. Seriously never been wowed at a Wendy's before. On our trek to NoCal we stopped for gas just on the north side of the Grapevine and decided to grab a bite at Wendy's. It has been years since I've tasted their funky square shaped burgers, so I thought it was time to give them another try. What a mistake! I should have waited another lifetime before subjecting myself to their whatever it was they called "burger". I am not sure what their logo "Taste the Difference Fresh Makes" means but it sure does not mean tasty burgers. Standing in line, I contemplated between their triple and double burgers. I was hungry but I finally decided on the double because I thought the triple was going to be too big, especially if I was going stop in at Baskin Robins next door afterwards. The double turned out to be the size of two slider patties - so wimpy looking that I thought maybe I should have ordered the triple. Good thing I didn't because two was plenty bad! Next time? Quaint place, nobody inside a couple people rolling through the drive through. Wendy's wasn't what I expected at all, guess I'm too used to McDonalds and Jack. It was a less dense menu, with simpler options a lot more expensive prices. I got the baked potatoe with bacon and cheese, which was pretty delicious. It comes with tubes of sour cream and butter. Piping hot and not dry. The Jr. Bacon cheese burger was fresh and had a clump of lettuce and thick slice of tomatoe. It was smoked apple wood bacon, delicious! But wayyyy too much mayo. The natural cut fries with sea salt was probably the best part. They remade the menu and I think the fries were the best. Slight crunch and that skin taste just finished it off for me. It didn't take that long to make, around 5 minutes give or take. Wendy's gotten a lot more expensive, but it would be that this was just a pit stop. There's bathrooms. No wifi. Parking lot. A quick stop here on road trip to LA, and I am reminded about how great a "chain restaurant" can actually be in many ways! This location is owned as part of the larger TA truck service center, which includes other restaurants and stores under one roof. It's at the western edge of the building, and features several outdoor tables and umbrellas for outdoor dining. The inside dining is impressive, with many varieties of tables, seats and even an in-wall fireplace with seating - it was blazing this day, in summer, but would be much more welcome in the colder months. A nice touch in any case. The tables and floors were very clean, and I didn't see any litter this visit. Decorations throughout the dining areas and counter areas were varied and added nice visual ambience. The counter help was very friendly and efficient, and patrons were served quickly. The food was fresh and hot, and the frozen drink (chocolate shake) was thick and delicious - perfect this day! Overall, I found this location and this visit to be everything - and offer everything - a fast food franchise ought to be and offer. 5 Stars for a Wendy's? Absolutely! read more
