There must have been some magic in that 2018 World Championship burger. But the magic seems to have faded into the past. Today it's an undersized soggy bun, skimped on the cheese and the pulled bacon was cold and tough. I really hate to see this regression. I chalk it up to shrinkflation and our macro economy. Sign of the times. I recently saw an article encouraging a cross-state trek to this Cheeseburger as a destination. I tried the "Lil Sass"- 1/4lb burger on Texas toast with pepper jack cheese and fries. The burger seems to be hand pattied but I'm not 100% sure on that. The fries are the seasoned style and are really good as well. They have a topping station so you can dress up your burger however you like: pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapeños. It's a basic strip shopping center so it's nothing fancy but the prices are reasonable and you can usually find a coupon in the local ads. Normally when something is hyped up it doesn't turn out to be as good but Hamburger Mikes is as good as advertised! The only thing that I think would make it better is some burger sauce.

It's set up like a bar scene, though they only serve beer and wine which I can only assume has to do with the ginormous expense for a full bar liquor license and stock price threshold. Cloudy Sunday right when the falcons were playing and got a seat to sit & eat. It was delicious. If it wasn't so far out I'd probably go more often. I would definitely get the oxtail Philly again. The piña colada lemonade is okay, but the blue raspberry lemonade is where it's at. That's the winner. Get one while you're there and get one for the ride back. In my opinion 75 back into the city is the best route because it's a closer feel to the interstate. The route going 20 east feels like you spend longer on the backroads once you get off the interstate in Conyers. But Apple Maps/Waze are your best friend to avoid traffic. Trust me.
