Just finished our "Wednesday" special meal bundle of 10 chicken nuggets, fries, and a blood Raven frosty. We had three orders so there was a little variety in that some of us got spicy chicken. Some of us got regular chicken nuggets. There was a chocolate frosty and vanilla frosty. The spicy chicken nuggets were spicy and the Ravens Blood frosty was really good, too. Out of 6 dips, we got 5 that tasted the same and one that looked and tastes different. All were good and warmed the mouth, but not overtly spicy. We have our collectible spoons and will use them for fun food times. This was a fun lunch. I'm glad we did this. I visited this Wendy's drive-through to order a Dave's Single and a kids' burger meal. While placing my order at the intercom, the employee taking my order paused the interaction to answer a personal cell phone call, which was already unprofessional. When I arrived at the window to pay, I noticed that my food was being prepared without gloves. I politely raised my concern, and the staff member told me that gloves were not used because the food was "too hot" for plastic gloves and that their process was "very sanitary." This explanation was extremely concerning, especially given that the same employee had just handled a personal cell phone and then continued preparing food. Using hand sanitizer does not replace proper food-handling protocols, especially when bare hands are directly touching food. When I asked if my food could be re-prepared using gloves, I was told they would not do so. At that point, I took the food anyway, hoping I wouldn't get sick. To make matters worse, when I opened my bag, I realized I had been given the wrong burger on top of everything else. Afterward, I looked up Wendy's food safety standards and confirmed that gloves are, in fact, required for food preparation. Being told otherwise by staff was disturbing and misleading. I am highly dissatisfied with this location. After experiencing this, I checked the Yelp reviews and noticed this Wendy's has a very low rating, which makes it clear that I'm not the only customer having repeated negative experiences here. The restaurant is bit noisy from the machinery in the kitchen. Also I'm also not a fan of the touch screen soda machines. Possibly too germy and a bit complicated to just serve yourself a Diet Coke. An employee on break playing on her phone without earphones. When did that become an OK thing? Too distracting from the dining experience. The shop looks clean and the employees are nice. The breakfast sandwich was ok and the fries tasted pretty good. They do have a giant parking lot with easy parking. They cheat you on your food order. The "Family Size " chili is supposed to be be the equivalent of 4 large regular Chili's. They give you two large chilis and one small. They charge you the same price for less food. Sadly, they don't have the Family Size chili tub, but will still let you purchase a Family Size chili to steal your money. Pleasant Hill Wendy's tells you the tub is 4 largest if they run out. That is how I'm certain. The customer service is awful. They don't call your name. Avoid this Wendy's at ALL cost! First, I arrived with my granddaughter and no one was in line at the drive up. The static of the speaker made it very hard to hear the person taking our order. The quality and warmth of the food is horrible and the drive through line takes forever even though they are fully staffed. When we said "hello" they very curtly told us that they were closed. We stated that we thought they were open until 1am and he said "No, we're closed NOW.".
