I visited this Wendy's drive-through to order a Dave's Single and a kids' burger meal. While placing my order at the intercom, the employee taking my order paused the interaction to answer a personal cell phone call, which was already unprofessional. When I arrived at the window to pay, I noticed that my food was being prepared without gloves. I politely raised my concern, and the staff member told me that gloves were not used because the food was "too hot" for plastic gloves and that their process was "very sanitary." This explanation was extremely concerning, especially given that the same employee had just handled a personal cell phone and then continued preparing food. Using hand sanitizer does not replace proper food-handling protocols, especially when bare hands are directly touching food. When I asked if my food could be re-prepared using gloves, I was told they would not do so. At that point, I took the food anyway, hoping I wouldn't get sick. To make matters worse, when I opened my bag, I realized I had been given the wrong burger on top of everything else. Afterward, I looked up Wendy's food safety standards and confirmed that gloves are, in fact, required for food preparation. Being told otherwise by staff was disturbing and misleading. I am highly dissatisfied with this location. After experiencing this, I checked the Yelp reviews and noticed this Wendy's has a very low rating, which makes it clear that I'm not the only customer having repeated negative experiences here.
