Terrifying experience! I just sent this letter to corporate, but I am sure they won't do anything about it. So, all of you beware: I have been going here for more than 30 years. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from when my mom would take us for Frosties there. She always got the taco salad, and we got fries. We never got to eat out and didn't have much money, so it was a huge treat. To this day, Wendy's is one of the only places I can eat as a Vegan, and I look forward to the baked potatoes everywhere in the country. Wendy's always has a comforting piece of home. Every Christmas, I buy my kids the key tag for the free Jr. Frosties, and throughout the year we buy chicken nuggets, fries, and get a little treat on the side after swim practice and music practice. This week, my mom called excited to tell me that Wendy's has thin mint Frosties! We have all been Girl Scouts our entire lives, and we love thin mints! All week we looked forward to having Friday dinner at Wendy's with a taste of the new thin mint Frosties! At the window tonight around 6:20pm I started ordering my son's chicken sandwich and told the person at the window that I had one key tag for a junior frosty and wanted to try the new thin mint one. He said with the key tag we could only get vanilla or chocolate. I told him I have been using these tags for years and we always get whatever flavor is in the machine and seasonal, like pumpkin or caramel. He said no. I asked if I could talk to the manager, and he said he was the manager. Then he didn't even take the rest of my order but shouted at me to pull forward. I thought he was just going to go ahead and give me the thin mint one, but instead he started to berate me in front of my 12 year old son! It was absolutely frightening! He was a grey haired man, and he started shouting gibberish. At first I was really honestly trying to just understand what he was saying since English wasn't his first language, until I realized he was yelling at me and reprimanding me like I was a child. He showed me his screen and said there was no button for it. I said so if we don't get the free one, you can't even sell me a junior thin mint one (I was willing to pay for it at that point just to get the treat I had promised my kid all week)? He said no. He wouldn't even let me buy one! I told him again that I do this all the time getting the seasonal flavors with the key cards and that didn't make sense. Just because there isn't a button for it yet doesn't mean you can't give us a junior cup with that flavor. He was not interested in problem solving it and instead started shouting at me, "what so we just break the rules for you at your convenience? When should we follow the rules... but not for you?" He was actually yelling at me because I simply asked for the frosty you all have been advertising! "At your convenience" made no sense at all, and what he said was so confusing he couldn't even get out what he wanted to say, but what was very clear was that he was yelling at me and trying to scare me and my son! His aggression shouting at me was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced at a window! Over a frosty. My son was still really scared and sad about it all the way home. We drove away as fast as we could! I did tell him I would report him, so that is what I am doing. I really hope he isn't actually the manager. What has the world come to?? This just makes me incredibly sad that my favorite place since childhood, a place I take my kids for a treat just like my mom did for me is being run by an aggressive, angry man who yells at women through the window when they ask for something simple. He said it was a "rule" that he couldn't give me the thin mint Frosty. Is that for real? I don't ever remember reading when I bought the key tag that there was a restriction on the flavor I could get, and I assure you, we have had the seasonal flavor without anyone blinking for years. No one has ever told me we only get vanilla or chocolate. Even if it is a "rule," he could have been nice about it and said sorry this is something new, or filled it with the new flavor this once but said next time sorry we can't do it. I have worked food service in many places, and I honestly can't believe how bad this was. This person would have been fired on the spot at any of the places I have worked. I thought he was going to jump through the window he was in such a rage. He terrified me and my son. As for me, I don't ever want to go back to that location or spend another dime at Wendy's if this is the kind of person who is the manager now. read more

It's not my life's mission to visit every Wendy's in Nevada, but I most likely will. Just be thankful I don't review them all! (smirking) The W. 5th street Wendy's in Reno is conveniently located near Keystone and I-80. So it's easy to get to with a nice out of the way intimacy. Carlos rang up my order flawlessly and was a fantastic conversationalist. Turns out neither of us is a huge breakfast fan. I guess that's why I'm at a Wendy's at 9:00am. My Grilled Chicken sandwich was up to par as was the chili. Huge problem with the iced tea. Had a strange off-taste. Is it the water? Is it old tea? The young lady on the grill thought it might be the fact that they not longer serve Green Tea. Nope. I drink Wendy's tea in a myriad of places and it's pretty consistent. I didn't dare finish it. I finally listened to my wife's advise and exchanged it for something else. This location is the old style model and IMHO they need to remodel and among other things create a self service pop machine station. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. But I am the first customer of the day. The tables actually had that sticky odd film. But years of greasy spoons and the like...I ignore such things and eat off the sandwich wrapper and the tray. By the looks of things I'm not sure I'd visit here after dark. Not a cozy looking neighborhood and they don't have near enough outdoor lighting. read more

I don't know if the staff has changed since the last time I went but I was SO happy with my grilled chicken sandwich last night 10/19/21 at 630 pm. This location is between work and home. KFC and McDonalds nearby only have fried choices. Grilled is a much healthier choice so I am happy Wendy's is offering non-fried fast food for those that are trying to eat a lighter diet on the go. I wasn't expecting anything more than a dry chicken sandwich with wilted lettuce but I received a fresh juicy grilled chicken sandwich, hot with fresh, not wilted lettuce but fresh healthy garden greens with spinach and a fresh firm tomato. I actually enjoyed my fast food dinner and because of the quality, I will splurge and return to this location a few times a month so long as who ever made that sandwich is still doing a wonderful job! I can say I have been to this location around 18 times in the last 6 years (so Im not one of those people who would keep perfect track but this is the rough ballpark), never ordered more than 3 meals, and never been given my full order. On 4/282022, I was denied a refund in accordance with their posted notice that, if we do not get a receipt with our order, I was entitled to a refund. I was NOT given a receipt as the server handed me my food. The boss THEN handed me a receipt and said I couldn't have a refund because I allegedly held up customers in line behind me while I searched for change to pay my order. I am a senior. He was rude and disrespectful (Israel) and slammed the glass window at the drive through. The sign did not list any conditions for me to get a refund other than by the server's not handing me a receipt with my order! I spent over $40 in food & Manager named Israel, kept giving me attitude for forgetting my sandwich and when I was asking him why he was giving me attitude he said, "I'm saying please and thank you that's not giving attitude." I order Wendy's by DoorDash and I've never been disappointed yet. I don't really know why people complain about things for a fast food place because hey, you're not going to the fucking Waldorf Astoria for food. And being polite to the workers goes a long way. When I wasn't so lazy and ordering in person at the Wendy's in both locations close to me, I never had any issues. I got what I wanted...hot tasty food...usually a Baconator and fries, or chicken nuggets. I remember many, many years ago when they first came out in San Jose and they were the first to have the baked potato and salad bar. Well, forty years later or more, I still go. From DoorDash orders, again, no problems. And yes, occasionally it's kind of cold, but how hard it is to pop it in the microwave and heat it up????? We have always had great experiences with this Wendy's particularly. The chicken nuggets are generally fresh and the fries are too. Also, the location is very convenient right off the highway. The service is always very fast and everyone I've dealt with is friendly. We failed to plan ahead for dinner to make at home tonight so we grabbed Wendy's on the way home from daycare. The kids and I had chicken nuggets and fries - the chicken nuggets could have been fresher/warmer but they were still good. The fries were perfect tonight. My husband's chicken club sandwich was good (he claims it is better than the baconator). We had chili too and it was pretty good but I've had better. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.... Gayle and I left Genoa NV yesterday at around Noon and headed to RNO to drop off my son for his flight back to PDX. Then it was onwards to West I-80 for the long drive home. Along for the ride was one of Gayle's sons and his wife. But despite the mountains of food available that morning at Grammie's house, he mentioned leaving the airport that he was hadn't had anything to eat that morning, and had a hunger headache to match. And since by his own admission, this son can be a "little" irritating, off we went in search of a fast food fix. Those little food, fuel and accommodation signs are really handy sometimes. And at one of the first post-RNO exits, we were off the freeway, and with a few turns into this Wendy's. We walked in and out in a matter of a few minutes and were very quickly back on our way. The food was hot, fresh, and friendly, and just what the dopamine doctor ordered. From then on, we enjoyed the flip side of his personality - witty, smart, and never boring. read more

Manager Israel is intensely disrespectful and refused to prepare food for a mobile order that was prepaid. He was yelling over me, refused to look at the paid order on the app, and told me that he needed a physical receipt despite the fact that it's printed from his machine and there's no logical way I can get that. Was also shoving another customers food in my face to prove that it was the "only mobile order" he had and rudely told us to get out of line instead of making us the food we paid for. This location is the absolute worst. One time that I was here I sat in the drive-through for 15 minutes without one car moving. Another time that I was here I said at the microphone where you order for 10 minutes and there was no one at the windows. Another time I came their systems down. Another time I came there close an hour and a half early. It's constantly waiting in the drive-through another time I came here I waited 40 minutes to get through this drive-through. I have been to many Wendy's in my past (and worked at one back in the day), so I know quality when I taste it. I stopped here on a work road trip and it was great. I got here before the dinner rush, so there was little wait at the drive thru window. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo with an iced tea. The chicken was perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of condiments. The fries were crisp and had that great, salty taste I would expect from any fries (Burger King sure needs to learn this one). The iced tea was fresh and didn't taste like it had been sitting in the dispenser all day. Overall, I wish the Wendy's restaurants around Vegas could keep up with this quality standard. Then loads a tray with so much stuff that it all falls off when picked up (Lrg drink, Med drink, 2 burgers, Lrg fry, Med fry, 4pc nuggets and chili) then laughs as you struggle. I asked for a manager and she asks why. Tells me the only manager is their store manage Karen and she's busy. I said I'll wait we are just starting to eat. This is my neighborhood Wendy's, and my second fast food choice (behind Taco Bell) when the urge strikes. My most frequent reason for coming here is to get a baked potato -- I'll take mine with chives, no butter, salt, pepper, and lots of sour cream -- on the side. Rather than In-N-Out Burger, I come to Wendy's for a fresh clean single. I love the 99 cent menu because the hamburgers aren't too big. Wendy's burgers aren't greasy and they aren't made with cereal. Other than that, this is a typical fast food burger that comes with an air bun. If I'm really hungry, I'll order two 99 cent burgers, throw out the bottom buns (cause top buns are better!), and make a double burger. One problem is getting a baked potato late at night. The store lets themselves run out, and then tries to talk you into waiting 10 minutes "because we have potatoes in the oven." Ummm, I'd say they mean the microwave and if you swallow this line they'll be selling you some swampland before you know it. ***Edited because Lakewood G., the guru of all retail knowlege, has assured me that Wendy's using a particular convection oven that indeed bakes a potato in about 10 minutes! Amazing.*** I also like the frosty, even though I only buy one about every two years. In my experience, Wendy's quality has been very consistent, so if I'm on the road travelling, I'll hit a Wendy's drive through with less reservation than I have about taking my chances on other fast food options. Drive thru is the only way to go because who wants to sit in a Wendy's? Traffic at the drive thru window of this location isn't bad and they are relatively fast filling orders. Warning: Do check your bag as I've gotten wrong orders more than once from a variety of English as a third language if at all types. This is a very clean Wendy's and the staff was on top of it and attentive. Rosie was our cashier and she was managing multiple things at a time and still made time to wash her hands inbetween duties. I don't often see fast food employees wash hands that often to be honest. This probably doesn't seem like a big deal but when you're on a road trip and stopping through so many grimeygas stations, a place like this is a safe haven. I didn't see a single crumb on the ground or trays of food on tables, everything was wiped down AND I saw Rosie manage 3 other customers at the same time and I was just impressed. This isn't a review about Wendy's food bc it's the same as all other Wendys. But what makes this Wendy's stand out is their awesome employees who run the place like a well oiled machine. read more
