Usually, I enjoy coming here during my lunch breaks. I ordered the baconator fries, and I am typically satisfied with my order, even though there are some rude employees sometimes and today really highlighted that for me as I was disrespected by an older white male who seems to be a manager during the time period that I was here on Wednesday at 10:30. I was called an insult, an idiot, and me and my friend, who was a woman of color, feel really disrespected and like this insult came out of nowhere. The most positive thing about Wendy's in Riverhead is the food was decent although one of the meals was not what we ordered. Several people in front of us seemed to have problems with their orders not getting what they ordered. It appeared there was no manager and no communication. When paying by credit card, the tap did not seem to work and the cashier just stood there not offering any help. The girl on the line, it was either her first day or untrained and last item to mention is the men's room was disgusting which luckily didn't go in until after the meal otherwise would have run out of there quickly. Thursday August 8th 2019 around 7pm my friends and family experienced a level of disrespect that I only saw on television. I was hesitant to write this, there is so much to say about this incident. From Angie the manager calling us uneducated to Zack, a teenage employee, making gun symbols with his fingers. Thursday August 8th my son turned 7 years old. I loaded up a van with kids and for the adults' sanity I arranged a separate vehicle. We spent the entire day at Splish Splash Water Park. After an amazing day at the waterpark, we googled the nearest Wendy's. Upon entering the establishment one parent began to inquire about the oil being used in the fryer. She was ignored initially until another parent spoke up to alert the front-end staff to her inquiry. Finally she was able to confirm soy was the oil in use. She was so flustered by this, compounded with the fact that her son`s epi pen was lost at the waterpark (he was just recently diagnosed with 8+ major food allergies), that she forgot to add her coupon to her order. Since she was the last person to order and only a few minutes had passed I encouraged her to go back to the register and to see how they can help. The cashier was a a young man who referred to the manager when I asked if we could refund the order, then reorder to add the coupon. Angie the manager came over to the register and said no, that she'd be fired and if any of her employees did that they'd be fired as well. I laughed, saying come on, you don't have to get an attitude, to which she responded that I'm being facetious. "So what if I am it doesn't give you a right to be nasty" I told her. "You're an adult among a bunch of teenagers(employees) who look to you for leadership and look how you respond." I can't remember exactly what Angie said but she made a comment about us being uneducated. After which things took a turn for the worst. The other parent was very upset at the audacity of Angie and they began yelling back and forth. Angie absolutely refused to back down, even when one of her employees Zack(I believe his name was) started make a gun symbol with his fingers saying he "fucking hates people." I yelled at Angie and told her look at the behavior/environment she's creating. My 7 year old son was there watching Angie and Zack attack us because we were trying to find a solution to the missed coupon opportunity. Angie refused to give out any of the orders and refunded all the money.... This confrontation ended with us leaving because Zack continued with the profanity symbolically and verbally. Angie needs a training on leadership, customer service, honestly I question if she should be working people much less managing impressionable teens. Zack is clearly making a cry for help he needs counseling and if the adults around him don't do something to intervene he might end up in the criminal justice system. A person being facetious doesn't deserve to be disrespected. I feel horrible because the parent who wanted to use the coupon did not want to go back up. I encouraged her thinking the Wendy's team would be helpful and kind. Instead we were attacked because of humor. read more

I am so glad to see these reviews! I am so disappointed by the Wendy's in Riverhead! The drive thru crew is so tacky and disrespectful with no people skills. They are mostly kids. They cut you off from ordering and make it seem like you are doing them a favor. They snatch the money, plop the change in your hand never once say thank you. The girls nails looks like claws, I mean that's not sanitary at all. The manager is a mean nasty man inside and out! He takes your order sweating like a pig, clothes are dirty and wrinkled. He also talks to you like, he rather be doing something else. There is one drive thru worker man (Fran) she is very sweet and makes you glad that you chose to eat there. She's very efficient, they need her to give a refresher course,to show them how it's done. I go there because that's where son with autism likes to go. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place! I got a Junior bacon cheeseburger which was so covered in grease I'm guessing because they don't change their gloves often and I had to decrease it with a napkin and it still was not edible! The fries were so under cooked and cold in the middle I don't understand how that could happen and I have never experienced that at a Wendy's before. I went here with my daughter on June 21 for a quick lunch. As we pulled up to the drive thru window we saw that the employees handling food were not wearing masks. There masks were under there chin with their nose and mouths exposed. When I confronted the manager, who also approached the window with NO mask I told her she needs to put a mask on! Her comment to me was "Oh yeah, I should and laughed" she then walked away. I was shocked that a reputable fast food establishment would not be diligently following CDC regulations for their customers in the middle of a pandemic. I will never go there again and am not only horrified by their lack of consideration to others but am also concerned for all the workers and patrons that come in contact with this establishment. What a terrible experience we had both today and a few days ago. First off the line was looong. We waited for about 20 minutes. While we waited we struck up a conversation with the man in front of us. A vertebra. Who served our country. He shared a few stories about the lineage of his family & their military service - he was incredible. Then I watched as he ordered & was almost yelled at, extremely disrespected & treated so rudely I couldn't believe it. We were next. We ordered, we weren't treated as badly as the man in front of us, but still absolutely no customer service. The veteran in front of us waiting & was given the wrong items. When we let the manager know of the situation she just told him he didn't order correctly. Then we also were served our order incorrectly. When we approached the counter to rectify the situation, there was no sorry or anything, just a rude look. Today my son wanted drive through so I figured I'd give them another shot. So we waited on the line - at least 25 minutes. I order the same EXACT thing he had had 2 days earlier, but was told they cannot give me milk with his order. When expressing that the meal is for a child & not an adult they would not accommodate me - not even a sorry. I explained that he always get milk from Wendy's, they didn't care, no sorry or anything, just "no." So I asked for a bottle of water, no on that too. So he had the bottle of water I had in the car. The. I drive up to get his frosty that comes free with the adoption key chain I purchased at Christmas time. The manager saw the key fob & took the frosty that she had made (a size small) and got another one but in size junior frosty. Then when I told her it was supposed to be chocolate, she thre both of those away & got a junior in chocolate. Then she tries to send me on my way, but I didn't have my chili yet. So she hands it to me & says, "you didn't pay for this but it's fine." I'm so disgusted by this managers actions & this restaurant as a whole. "Eek! Methinks not." is a perfect way to describe this Wendy's. I really did not like anything about it. Long wait to get up to the cash register and a long wait for the food. Non-friendly employees, and very crowded. Seating area is pretty cramped, but I suppose there's not much that the restaurant can do about that.
