I have lots of sympathy for the manager here, because it can't be easy getting help at a fast food place during the Saratoga season, when there's a labor shortage and 50 restaurants within a few blocks of here. That she had to yell at several of her staff (and seriously, I don't blame her at all) in order to get them to serve customers may show you how hard a job it is. So, that said, it's just not worth the wait here, much less the pain of watching the junior staff try to figure out how to manage things under the pressure of managing the drive through lane and the inside line. The inside line got the short shrift today (as it did on the previous visit to this location), as it often does, and waiting 25 minutes for part of my "fast food" order was a partial result. (Yes, I checked against the ordering receipt.) There's one reason people come to places like this, and it has to do with not waiting. I won't even get into picking apart the mechanics of our order, since that would be piling on. You get the idea. Undertrained staff = avoid. This is not horribly unusual for such joints in tourist areas, nor for Wendy's (there's one near my parents, who live in a different summer hot spot, that's even worse), but you are warned. read more

Came back with a coupon to try the Dave's Single Cheeseburger and Baconator fries. The burger's okay except that it comes with mayo standard... heinous! Ask them to sub mustard, or just leave it off, and you'll be fine. Baconators feature melted cheese and bacon bits on top of fries. Biggest problem was that the fries were limp and soggy. It was real bacon though, not a product from a shaker jar. As on a previous visit, I found the layout of this Wendy's inhospitable. All ordering and food delivery is done through a narrow counter that leads to milling around by both employees and customers on their respective sides. read more

Because it's off Broadway, this Wendy's offers... dare I say it? ... some sanity and serenity compared to the hustle and bustle along Broadway and near the malls out on Route 50. It can feel slow and casual here if you come before or after peak dining times. But that can work against you too. I came here with my mom about 10 minutes before "lunch our proper," and she ordered decaf coffee. She was told they had to brew a fresh pot. She had finished about half her meal before she got it. Luckily, it was a good sized portion, and it wasn't stupid-hot like McDonald's coffee. The guy behind me ordered a 10-piece chicken nuggets meal, and he, too, was told he would have to wait 4-5 minutes for them to make a fresh batch. This doesn't really bother me, as I usually dine in, and I don't mind waiting a few minutes if I know something is going to be fresh. But I can see how this would be really frustrating if you're doing a drive-thru. Sometimes the drive-thru line does get pretty long. Otherwise, it's good, basic, consistent Wendy's fare. there is no rating for this horrible horrible wendys! one star would be too many. ordered an order online because I thought it would be easier Boy was I wrong. I did everything I was supposed to to have my order brought to my car. I let them know I was there and had my confirmation that I had arrived. 20 minutes later no food. so I go in. the imbecile behind the counter says they never got it and maybe I wasn't at the right wendys! Well I showed him where I was supposed to pick it up and he went to check on it. he comes back with my slip saying it just came in. bull shit meter went off because by now it was a half hour! so he said he'd bring it out to my car . He comes out and asks my name again and I tell him and heard him repeat it into the ear phone thing he had on his head! 25 minutes later.. no food... no guy! so I call my husband to come so he could drive me home because I can't see to drive at night. he come and figured he just had to drive me home and starts to get in the car when he realized I still didn't have my order. it's an hour at this time and people are coming and going and still no order! we both go in there and the same guy behind the counter said they never got the order. well we wind up calling names and manager called cops because we wanted a refund and he refused! so we waited for cops and they got the real managers name a number that I will be have a conversation with tomorrow . if you are smart stay away from this wendys! especially when you see someone coughing and smoking outside and spitting up stuff and then you realize that was the manager! owner will be notified and he will lose his job! Once a year I allow myself to eat fast food. My son wore me down last night and convinced me to take him to Wendy's on Congress Ave in Saratoga Springs, NY. I was reminded of why I eat fast food once a year, and why I may never do so again. $11.06 for four tiny hamburgers barely the size of fifty cent pieces, which were poorly slapped together and did not taste good, and two medium fries that were cool and squishy. And to top off our delightful dining experience, about an hour after we got home my son got a stomach ache and proceeded to spend the next three hours in the bathroom. I will spare you the details. Should I ever change my mind and eat fast food again, I will certainly not spend my money at this place. read more

Why am I writing about a fast food restaurant? Because one of my pet peeves (along with chipped fingernail polish, or seeing the colors pink & yellow dirty -no, I don't have a problem!!!) is getting my food at a fast food restaurant which never looks like the photos or the commercials you see. But I used to go to Saratoga Springs for a yearly meeting. The first year, in an attempt to save per-diem money, I decided to walk a quarter mile to something affordable WENDY'S. Their burgers (only at this location) are not squeezed to paper thin death. They're plumped and juicy like the original intent of the product. Remember the early Wendy's commercials : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njdYuxgkNs0 These burgers even had the green part of the lettuce, red (not reddish white) tomatoes and a juicy drippy hamburger on a soft plump bun. We need a Fast Food Police Squad to call out these other places where you'll get your burger and it looks like somebody sat on it compared to the photo on the wall. On the other hand if you get a good looking, good tasting meal, call the manager over and tell them. If they don't give a dang (which happens if the manager is 17 yr old, just doing the job to save up for a car) call or email the company to let them know this is what you want. If I go fast food, I want something I consider good. I like Wendy's but I wish they were all like the Saratoga Springs branch. Went through the drive thru to order for our whole office. Precisely ordered and double checked at the window before paying. App told me our total would come to 47.13. Total in the drive thru was 50 something. I told them what the difference was and the best they could do was take off the charge for the potato. The order still came to slightly more than the app. Why are they not able to match the app pricing? When it came to pay since it was for our office we were splitting payment. They grabbed a manager when I tried to use Apple Pay who rudely informed me that they don't take any kind of payments like that where you scan your phone. I said ok paid with my card. They forgot 2 of the chicken nugget orders and when I called asking simply for a refund they said they couldn't refund me until tomorrow because the manager was leaving at 5 and the other manager is in training presumably to be left alone until close not in fact knowing how to manage. This establishment is easily the nastiest Wendy's franchise this side of the Mississippi. You can smell the B.O. rolling off the employees before you even step foot in the door, then you are greeted by the black guy with dandruff who just left the restroom without washing his hands and the old lady behind the register who hasn't seen a tooth brush since 19th century. It's no secret I have a junk food crush on Wendy's so this review hurts me to write. This Wendy's (on Congress St. in Saratoga) is the scariest in the area--the big question is whether the staff or customers are sketchier. The food, if it's even the right stuff, is generally cold. They're frequently out of stuff (not entirely the staff's fault) or when things get screwed up aren't overly apologetic about it. The coffee-toffee frosty is usually enough to bring me 10 miles out of my way, but I have a feeling the froosty machine hasn't been cleaned since they opened. Cringe-worthy.... read more

The Saratoga Springs Wendy's location is horrible. The "restaurant" is filthy, the service is terrible and the food is awful. I'm not sure what happened because it used to be a decent place to get a good burger, but I wouldn't eat there again if I got free food for life from Wendy's. There are plenty of good burger places in Saratoga, but if you want a fast food type place,drive 5 minutes up Route 50 and go to Five Guys instead. read more

I get they hire teens/young adults to fill the staff because no sane adult would wanna work their crap hours but come on. At least hire someone with half a functioning brain. May 2016 - Went into Wendys and the a/c was broken (extremely hot) The bathroom was out of order and the 2nd bathroom was disgusting! so for my review I'd like to rate the saratoga location with negative starts rating. today I went out of my way and drove across town just go to to Wendy's normally there food is good and they have the best fries and chicken nuggets around. NOT today. my visit was a trip through the drive thru the lady on the speaker was present and very helpful. but by the time I got to the window the mood of my visit had changed. from my car I could hear many associates complaining about having to work and all the "Stupid" rules they had to follow. I paid for my meal got my food and drove away. before checking my order for accuracy. on my way home i snacked on one of my fries and they were limp cold and had no salt on them. when I got home I opened the bag and my order was correct but not exactly what I had expected. first I found a short silver hair in one of my orders of fries. I immediately called the store and the manager agreed to replace my order for free when I came back. i discarded that batch of fries and continued eating with a careful eye to make sure I didnt find any other unwanted items in my food. I then opened my frosty and found yet another piece of hair unlike the last this one was long and black.i called the store back this time requesting a refund and was denied saying all she could do was replace it. she also made a comment of "following our last conversation I told all the girls they needed to put on hair nets when handeling food".(that SHOULD be common practice) I then called the number on the bottom of my receipt that was captioned with "how was your visit " to get some one highter up on the phone that can assist with my refund. I was placed on hold for 20 minutes and no one answered I then pressed the button to complete the survey and it said they could no longer do surveys over the phone and that I'd have to take the survey online. I pulled up the website and it crashed my phone so here I am. i highly recommend people to NOT visit this restaurant. 2 different pieces of hair from 2 different people both in one order is just ridiculous and disgusting. they need to clean up there restaurant and there employees before I'll be going back there. read more
