Ordered their nem cuon summer rolls. Food came fresh and dipping sauces were good. Wish it was made with pickled carrots and daikon for added acidity and texture but the roll was tasty!

    Pho Tai Bo Vien
    Anthony T.

My friends and i were craving some viet food in Chinatown, so decided to check it out. I got the pho tai bo vien and my partner got the bun thit nuong. Service was quick and concise. The pho was average- a nice amount of meat, with all the fixings (although I was missing some culantro). The broth was a bit lacking in my opinion, with the noodles clumping up. The main taste was sweet and not very beefy, but I was able to doctor it up with some hoisin/sriracha/fish sauce/lemon. The vermicelli seemed more successful- tasty meat, although the shrimp did not taste very fresh.

Pork bahn mi, #18 crispy shrimp and pork springroll
    Francisco M.

Ordered through yelp for pick up. Was craving spring rolls and discovered this place. I and 2 other people ordered the #18 which is pork and crispy fried shrimp and it was delicious kind of wish the sauce was more of a peanut sauce, but I believe what they gave me is more traditional. Also got a pork bahn mi which was very tasty I liked that it was like a stir fry of pork and onions tossed into the French bread. Well definitely come back again

Charbroiled pork & bean curd skin wrap with broken rice

Gigo's Cafe & Deli offers impressive portions of food at competitive prices. My coworker and I took the A Line over to Chinatown Station to make an order. I got charbroiled pork & bean curd skin wrap with broken rice ($13.50) and charbroiled meatballs, shrimp roll & veggie rolls ($8.00). We got takeout and shared the rolls, which were packed full with ingredients and flavors. It's an enjoyable appetizer that's worth the price. The main dish had a lot of pork and rice. I felt like they should've cut the pork a little more so that it would've been easier to eat. The bean curd skin wrap had a nice texture to it. I was interested in broken rice but didn't notice too much of a difference between it and non-broken rice. While it definitely filled my stomach, I felt like I would've enjoyed a vermicelli dish more for its refreshing taste. Note that the restaurant charges a service fee for using a debit or credit card. The restaurant wasn't crowded at the time. The owner was friendly and even said that I ordered more than enough to eat. If I ever want Vietnamese food again for lunch, I know I have a reliable place to call in an order.

A quaint family establishment. I typically order for delivery. this was the first time I came into the restaurant. We received a warm welcome from the auntie in the front. She seated us right away. We ordered bi spring rolls, bun bo hue, and pho. All were tasty. Fish sauce / nuoc cham was diluted so very non-vietnamese friendly :). Only note is the bun bo hue had a lil too much msg; i am sensitive to msg so my body felt achy all day after that. I'd come back but maybe will stay away from soups.

This place is exactly what comes to mind when I think of a mom and pop shop and the restaurants that I grew up eating in. Though the aesthetics may not be on par with your fancy modernized restaurants, you will always be guaranteed a delicious meal served and made with love, reflecting of culture. I ordered charbroiled pork and egg rolls with vermicelli. A simple meal, yet so delicious and satisfying! I really like their egg rolls because they use rice paper and it has that extra crispy texture. There was a good ratio of everything in my vermicelli. My friend ordered egg rolls and chicken pho. I tasted a bit of the broth and it's a bit different from what I'm used to but soo good. There was a certain depth to it that I don't know how to describe, and I definitely want to try that next time. I didn't know this but there is also free parking behind! Also, kudos to our server for making us feel welcome and for cracking jokes with us. Regulars kept on stopping by and he would talk to them. That's how you know a place is great!

    4. Vietnamese Coffee with Milk & 8. Thai Iced Tea
    Jennifer K.

My sister and I decided to drop by this cafe & deli because the boba cafe nearby was closed. We got the #4 Vietnamese Coffee with Milk and #8 Thai Iced Tea. The Vietnamese Coffee with Milk tasted okay. It just tasted like regular Vietnamese Coffee, I've had better Vietnamese Coffees with more flavor. The Thai Iced Tea was also just regular tasting Thai Iced Tea. It was a bit watery tasting but no other problems. The employees were okay. They were just doing their jobs, not super kind or super mean. For a restaurant that was basically empty, I felt like they took a while, but I didn't mind. The restaurant is just a basic restaurant. It wasn't super clean or super dirty. There was plenty of seating because there weren't a ton of people eating there. I don't really get where the cafe part of the name is coming from because it's more like a typical restaurant. There's no special cafe drinks or a separate cafe section. I did see a baby cockroach on the counter I chose to sit at. It disgusted me so I left quickly. From the previous reviews and my experience, I don't think I'll come here again. It wasn't anything special, and people don't seem to find the food enjoyable.

Stopped by Gigo's during a Sunday lunchtime Chinatown food crawl after hearing about their summer rolls, and wow the rolls were fantastic! Easy to order through the Yelp app, prepared quickly, and absolutely delicious! We hope to return to try more of the menu!

I would mark this restaurant as a comfort food spot. It's not flashy and I've never had to wait for a seat. It's very clear that all the staff are involved with the business, the serving staff and the kitchen help each other out and have clear communication. I ordered a Pho with rare steak as well as spring rolls with pork meatball and a fried shrimp egg roll inside. My rolls came out first and the egg roll was still hot like it was just fried. My pho soup was on the sweeter side, but it came with a very generous serving of meat. The side garnishes that came with my pho were plentiful, which is great because the mint and limes were perfectly in season. When you look around the restaurant, the other customers are so warm and excited to be there. It's very apparent this restaurant is well loved by the community.

    3. Rare Steak Brisket Noodle Soup and 16. Spring Rolls
    Shaheen E.

Spring rolls were light and refreshing, peanut sauce was excellent and tasty. I got the rare steak and brisket pho, which had incredibly tasty and soft beef as well as the noodles. Fresh tasting ingredients and overall will definitely be coming again. The lemonade was also delicious after just finishing a short run around the park

#18 Nem Nuong Cuon voi Cha Ram Tom, $7.25 prior to tax
    Vic C.

Gigo's Cafe & Deli is located in Chinatown, specifically next to Hop Woo BBQ & Seafood with outdoor seating right outside to the left of it (if you are facing the front of the restaurant). Because my husband and I were with our little girl dog, we decided to make a to go order and then eat our food around the corner and sit at one of the tables outside. After we looked over the menu, we ended up purchasing: Banh Xeo, $13 prior to tax- My husband decided to get this Vietnamese crepe. He was rather disappointed that it was soggy and not crispy. It did come with a small side of bean sprouts and vegetables. I didn't have any but it didn't look as good as other places that we have ordered banh xeo before. #18 Nem Nuong Cuon voi Cha Ram Tom, $7.25 prior to tax- I opted for spring rolls and they were good. They came in a set of 3, with a side of hot sauce and a side of fish sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly and the rolls were wrapped tight (never a good thing when rolls just fall apart after your first bite). Sugar Cane Juice- My husband ordered this and didn't like it. It tasted very chemically to him. I am not a fan of sugar cane juice so I didn't have any. --------------------------- (Total= $29.61 after tax) Wait time for our food was under 30 minutes. We came on a Saturday afternoon, around 2:40 pm with a few people ahead of us in line to order. The employee who took our order (the owner I presume) was friendly. There is a unisex restroom (for paying customers) down the hall from the register. It was not that clean but it was available for use while we waited for our food. My husband had high hopes for this place because this restaurant Yelp page is rated so high (4 stars at the time of this review and when we looked it up on Yelp). It is unlikely that we will be back the next time we are visiting Chinatown.

I personally like the egg salad one more since I am not a meat on meat person but the bacon wagyu slider is better. There's casual seating inside that works well for working, plus a nicer dining setup on the outdoor balcony. This place is definitely hidden! Parking is inside the apartment building, followed by two elevator rides up. Luckily, the signage makes it pretty easy to navigate. The little tea shop sits in a small strip and was the only establishment opened on a Sunday evening. This made for easy parking but I couldn't help but feel that the location was a bit eerie. Orders are made via tablet or directly with a staffer at the register. The menu lists: milk teas, specialty teas, tea slushees, lattes, and coffee. Drinks are customizable when it comes to sweetness level. Purchases: *ORIGINAL THAI- regular size, 30% sweetened *JASMINE MILK TEA- large size, 50% sweetened *YUZU GREEN TEA- regular size, 30% sweetened The yuzu green tea was fantastic. This was the perfect item to satisfy my thirst. This was not only deliciously refreshing but the agar jelly balls were so enjoyable. The original Thai tea set at 30% sweetener was perfect- it had the best punch of tea flavor with the subtle sweetness that balanced the bold spice profiles. The worst buy was 100% jasmine milk tea. This literally tasted like sugar water. At 50% sweetness level, I could not imagine what 100% default would be. This cup literally tasted like condensed milk poured over ice. 3 stars overall. It is so unfortunate how ChaTraMue has clear signage of them standing by their products and guaranteeing customer satisfaction only for our simple request for more tea [to offset the sickenly sweet cup] to be denied. The gentleman at the bar said the only option was to go and purchase another drink. BRAVO!! The customer service here is unmatched and the guarantee policy only applies to certain situations?????

The cream top does make it very creamy and it does mask majority of the matcha flavor. It did taste like a dessert drink. It was enjoyable though. COLD BREW VANILLA Weirdly sour and smoky flavored cold brew. Slight floral flavor too. It was such an odd combination of flavors with the vanilla cold foam. The lingering aftertaste was not good either. It's neither this nor that. Would not recommend! FINANCIERS Their financiers are made by a local bakery called Musk. It seems their financier flavors are changed often, so no same flavors are in rotation. Sausage & Parmesan - The almond cake's vanilla flavor with the sausage and salty parmesan was a unique flavor. The almond cake was nice and spongy. It did take a bit of time to get used to the savory flavors with the almond cake. It's like a breakfast in an unexpected way. Nutella - Buttery almond cake with nutella and roasted hazelnuts. Enjoyed it! I think Nutella fans would like it. Mugwort + Fig - Buttery in the beginning and it ends with a good, medium-strength flavor of mugwort. Fig was garnish on top, so you barely get it. However, I like that they added the sweetness of the figs with the earthy bitter mugwort. Overall, it was uniquely delicious and mugwort was the star. Yuza + Apricot - A tad sweeter than expected due to the outer brush of yuza aka yuzu simple syrup. Loved the chewy apricot on top. It really brought a lovely fruityness to the financier. The yuzu flavor was there alongside the butteryness of the almond cake. All the financiers were done well! Delicious! Recommend trying at least one when you're at this location. Not sure if their financiers are offered at their other locations. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. Not terribly friendly, but still answered my questions. Staff were all busy making the drinks. AMBIANCE + SEATS Really large space with rows of tables and chairs. It was strange walking in and seeing various tables and seats to one side and it almost looked like a cafe used as office space. Seeing all the people sitting down on their laptops or talking, as though they're having a casual business meeting there. It was just strange. The tables were mixed wooden tables and chairs. There were long benches too for people waiting for takeout orders. The large space felt so roomy, I get why the tables were all taken. PARKING Street parking is available, yet when I was there in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, it was packed! The only place to park was the paid parking lot right across from Damo. Parking was $5.00. I wouldn't recommend parking elsewhere outside of that street, as it is a sketchy area and lots of homeless encampments around the area. Would I return? Not sure. I like the large, roomy warehouse space with lots of tables to sit in, but the cafe being in a sketchy area gives me hesitation. Not in love with $5.00 parking too. One of my drinks was good, but the other was bad. The only thing I loved was the financiers.

The milk complemented the espresso without covering it up, allowing the coffee's character to come through. It was a well-executed drink that showed real attention to detail. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and I had the chance to meet the owner, who was incredibly knowledgeable about coffee. After talking with him, it was clear he cares about sourcing high-quality beans and getting the most out of them. That passion shows in the cup. I'll definitely be back.

Pro: a good amount of umbrella/covered outdoor seating on the back patio, which has a relaxing ambiance. Cons: the baristas were not super friendly. Barely acknowledged me when I walked into the shop. It's extremely small so it's not really ideal to sit inside. I ordered a cold brew with a non-dairy cream top, and the "top" immediately sank to the bottom in curdling chunks. The cold brew itself wasn't bad but they really shouldn't serve that cream top. Maybe I'd return to try something else if I happened to be in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I went with their Iced Cloud Cinnamon Foam latte, and it did not disappoint. The latte is infused with maple-flavored milk and finished with cinnamon, and the combination is absolutely delightful -- ice cold and bursting with flavor from the first sip to the very last. What really sets Tilt apart, though, is the staff. They go above and beyond for every customer, and you can genuinely feel the care they pour into their craft and their service. Whether you're a coffee purist or just looking to try something new, Tilt Coffee is absolutely worth a visit. They just earned a new fan!

Seating is limited, though they do offer a few outdoor tables and a bench inside while you wait for your drinks. The service was great. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. As for the coffee, it unfortunately wasn't my favorite. I tried the Cloud Latte and found it a bit too thick, lacking the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the Cinnamon Cloud, which was smoother but still tasted fairly bitter to me. Coffee preferences are subjective, of course, but the flavor profile just didn't quite hit the mark for me. That said, I enjoyed everything else about the experience and would be willing to come back and try a few different drinks from the menu. The service and ambiance were definitely highlights of the visit.
