Great place to visit and well worth the 45min trip. I went into this place and the walk in humidor was fully stacked. the atmosphere was just down right homey. there were people inside watching TV and outside just enjoying conversation. i just picked up a handful of cigars, but wished i had more time to just sit back and enjoy myself. This place is amazing. Selection: Probably the best selection in the whole SF bay area, I had to search far and wide but upon arriving at West Coast, they had nearly all the regular Liga Privadas in stock. I grabbed a few T-52s and No. 9s. But the rest of their selection is awesome as well, decently sized walk-in is their claim to fame and seeing it in person, you can understand why. Service: Great service! The guy at the cash register was talking to two other people when I walked in. He broke off the conversation and took time to ask me what I was looking for, also told me about their rewards program. Everyone there is very friendly as well so it's just a nice environment in general. I have not smoked there at the lounge yet but when I do I'll append this review with my experience. So far it's an awesome place. Parking: Not very good, parking lot only holds a few cars and is easy to miss, also in a sort of shady part of San Jose, the repair shop across the street takes up a ton of street parking so you might need to look around a bit, my only real complaint and not even a that big of a deal. read more

The walk in humidor says it all. They take care of the inventory and have a wide selection of products from pipe tobacco to guillotines. The street that's its on is kind of messed up so I would try to use a GPS if you're going here for the first time. This place is legit and its only as going to be as good as it gets being a young and new enthusiast, I don't get taken real seriously from other guests and some of the staff. I'm not complaining but one guy has a very unusual sense of humor so I only hope that others don't take offense. If I had the free time, I would love to just kick back and relax while I can watch National Geographics with the other men. read more

I was on a business trip for 4 days and ran out of my favourite cigar. Checking internet for a source nearby this location came up. I went there and eperienced friendly reception, expert advice (my wish was not available but a very tasty replacement suggestion) and finally I found the outside sitting area very nice. I regretted having no time to ry and use the occasion but I sure plan going there with a friend on my next visit to bay area. This place Sucks Ass. Their located in an old house where a room has been poorly converted into their walk in humidor. The window is not fully covered and allows sun light and heat in. The room is not insulated at all and the two times I've been there the room was warm and dry. A real walk in humidor has the feeling of humidity as being in a tropical environment. When I was there all of guys there looked like thugs. The staff doesn't know a good cigar from a dog turd. They judge their cigars and their quality on the price. I thought I'd post this since I am not a smoker and I don't want anyone to read this without realizing the consequences =) Moving on I don't know jack about Cigars. All I know is that I got a baby girl on her way and since I'm doing old fart things now...part of the old fart tradition is to smoke cigars to celebrate. I went online to educate myself but I was quickly overwhelmed and decided to turn to Yelp. I grabbed a couple of my boys and off we went on. First off getting to this place is interesting as it's in an area of San Jose that just doesn't feel like San Jose. We drive up to an old house with a dirt lot and some ol' lawn equipment out front. My boys looked at me and were like "where the hell have you brought us"?! I will admit I too was skeptical about this place when we drove up. Upon climbing up the steps and opening the door we were pleasantly surprised. We entered into the hooked up pad that had leather couches, big screen TV's and gents looking sophisticated smoking their stogies. Smoking is legal in here and they have free Wi-Fi if you need it. We walked into their giant humidor and it was fully stocked. I was in awe at all of the types of cigars they had. Soon after Kevin walked in and was kind enough to give me a lesson on cigars. I left that place knowing more than I would've ever known thanks to him. He was patient and great at explaining even the silliest of questions since I knew nothing. I ended up buying a box of cigars and got a 20% off discount too. They also have a reward deal kind of like Safeway/Bevmo if you're a hardcore smoker. Overall the experience was great and to get a free lesson on Cigars was really cool. Like I said I am not a smoker but if a friend invited me back I would definitely check it out. If you're a rookie like me or intermediate or a pro, I think you will feel at home here. Without a doubt the best cigar shop I've ever been to. The prices are the best I have seen and the staff is amazing. I am fairly new to cigars and the first time I went to this shop the staff all introduced themselves and answered every question I had. This place represents San Jose. West Coast Cigars is an unpretentious cigar shop boasting the biggest walk-in humidor in the Bay Area. The shop feels like walking into a buddy's house. The lounge is located in the living room, the bedroom is a walk-in humidor. The fridge is free to grab, store, or leave food and drinks, next to it, you can make cocktails and spirits. Friendly staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They do their best to answer dumbass questions without being condescending. A huge plus, since I'm usually asking dumbass questions. It's the kind of place where people say hi to you as if they know you; Where conversations between strangers is spontaneous. There is a game room in the back, where sometimes a few of the guys will be playing darts or a friendly game of poker. Also its fantastic that it's acceptable to BYOB here. So usually we pick up a couple six-packs on the way there. Drink a couple over a cigar and good conversation. Definitely stop in there, buy a stick and hang around to smoke it. read more

This is a plain jane cigar joint. The place is located out in the cuts- a converted house. All the decor is not for a fancy pants cigar smoker- this place is for guys who want to sit down and have a smoke without the sofistication that some places expect of you. The Cigar selection is good- a walk in humidor provides all your daily smoke needs. WCC also provides a set of cabinets for higher end cigars. If you want something a notch above the "house" there is a VIP lounge located just outside. They offer memberships, and you can smoke for a day for a nominal fee. Went to West Coast for the first time last week. It's a great cigar lounge with a large walk-in humidor and a great selection of cigars. They have a small, but nice lounge for smoking and watching a game. The customer service is great as well. I was helped by a very nice guy by the name of Christopher. He made some great cigar recommendations that he said are his and his boyfriends favorites. I had 3 cigars that night and they were all great. They even have some house blends that are great as well. WC really is a bay area gem for the everyday cigar smoker. While there are other nice shops in the area WC just has the best vibe. Its the working man's shop. No attitudes, people of every age and ethnicity, a huge lounge and a good selection. If you are a late night guy like me you aren't smoking anywhere else. Brandon and Mikey are the usual night guys. Most week nights they are open till 11pm. Weekends as late as 130am. Always someone to talk to always a movie or sports on the tv. West Coast Cigar not only is the best cigar shop in the universe, but it is actually one of the best stores on the planet. I went in there on Sunday May 27, 2012 and I was greeted by Bill, I told him I was brand new to the cigar world and would like to learn more about the history and also the different types. He then showed me into the room of the cigars and gave me a grand tour. He was very knowledgeable of his smokes and showed me every cigar that I could like. I found a little later he was the owner of the place. I told him I was buying cigars for a baby shower and it was my first child. He suggested to me a cigar and within even knowing what it was or how it smoked i felt as if i can trust Bill and i said give me a case for the party, I also bought a few other items 2 cognac dip cigars, a cutter, and also a torch lighter. If you buy a box you get 20% off the box, but he gave me 20% off the whole purchase which was amazing. The grand finally of it all he told me i can have my first daddy cigar on him, and I can choose anything I went, I was just testing him and wanted to see if he would give me the $135 cigar he grabbed the cigar from the case gave it to my gf and future baby mama and that was that. Awesome place to visit, awesome place to just come and hang out and enjoy a nice smoke with some very nice people.
