Another bonus that is special for Costco members is that they use a thicker 8 pound pad. The pricing was very good and we recently received a Costco shop card worth 15% of the cost of the job. A huge shout out to Frank at West Coast Flooring. Frank was great to hear my needs and provided best options for my house. I selected the carpet and upgraded padding with memory foam for a great carpet feel under the feet for upstair bedrooms. Then I selected the LVP plank flooring for downstairs. I have a hard time visualizing things but Frank went above and beyond visiting my home several times with various samples and helping me finally narrowing the option. Then Frank project managed all the phases of demo to prep (tile, hardwood, vinyl, carpet) then seeing it thru with installation. Oh and then there was updating trim. You guessed it, I had no idea but Frank helped me with the selection best for my home with tall ceilings and style. It was easy to trust West Coast because of Frank. This review is long overdue. As a person that usually rents a room, I was totally excited to get into my first house. After signing the lease & getting keys, I noticed things not apparent by a through quick walk through. The carpet had a horrible stench, was lifting & unsanitary. Anyways the slum lord Scott Travers represented by Rent Simpli finally agreed to pay half for carpet replacement. I got a quote from West Coast. Robert was very kind and was like why are you paying for this. He came out to measure & saw how bad it was. I just wanted the process over & to be able to walk around the house without shoes. It was a 1 guy installation team & it didn't take that long. He even cleaned up as he went along. We have had experience dealing with this distributor twice now. Once in 2014 and again, in 2023. Both times have been excellent experiences. Originally, our building contractor had given us this helpful referral. The bonus, other than excellent customer service, was that they offer many more selections in flooring than those locally for me. I had already made calls to local flooring distributors and was informed they were unable to buy my flooring, so I might find something similar? Well, no. Back in 2014, I ripped out some pretty disgusting, 1970's green shag (ugh) carpeting only to discover the original wood flooring of my 102-year-old vintage house was damaged and very poor quality. We were forced to re-floor most of my house in either wood flooring or very similar laminate, with the exception of two recently carpeted bedrooms. So now, some 9 years later, I decided it was time to address that unfinished business. My biggest question was, would I still be able to get that same product? I am a kleptomaniac when it comes to saving receipts for house projects. Ah, hah! This was incredibly helpful in making sure I matched the old product. And West Coast was still in business! While West Coast no longer carried my brand, they made a quick call to the manufacturer, who was located about 4 hrs from here and confirmed they could still purchase the exact same flooring for me. Even more amazing, the price per square foot, compared to 9 years ago, was very close to being the same! How often does that happen these days? Within days of ordering, it had arrived at their facility. It was seamless. I am very pleased. And yes, we checked it before accepting it. It matched perfectly. My only regret was that they could not drop ship those 25 boxes, even though the delivery truck to their location passed right by my house. A 30-minute drive to conduct business with West Coast was well worth it. Thanks, guys, for all your help! read more

This review is long overdue but still relevant. In March 2024 I visited several local flooring companies to get a rough estimate on luxury vinyl plank flooring for our new build home. West Coast provided us with a reasonable estimate, but it wasn't the lowest, so when the time came to actually install the flooring I went back to another business at first. Unfortunately, after measuring the model floor, their actual bid for the job was substantially higher than I expected - higher even than the price from the builder! Long story short, I went back to West Coast. Frank stood by the original estimate and West Coast installed the flooring at a significant savings from the builder. West Coast's installer was very professional. When the close of escrow was delayed we had to push back the installation of the flooring. The installer was very flexible and kindly worked around the painters who had to come back a couple of times to do finish and touch-up work. Just a note: This is not our first experience with West Coast. In 2016, they installed beautiful hardwood floors in our previous home. Like this time, the price was very reasonable and the installation process was smooth and professional. We lived with those floors for nine years without any issues. We used West Coast Flooring twice and should have learned our lesson after the first time. This was by far the absolute worst experience dealing with a company from start to finish not once but twice. We had flooring done in January on one entire downstairs and the installation crew that was sent out had to tear the floor up 3 times due to improper installation and prep. They just poured leveler all over, did not smooth it or level it, they left a mound in front of our fireplace that you could put a marble on and watch it roll down the slope they left, there was a huge space in the area directly in front of our front door that you could see the flooring flex. They had to tear up the floor again to fix both areas which meant adding another day which could have been prevented by just doing it right the first time. The base trim they installed started coming off the walls within a week or so, they left gaps where the leveler was poured in between the flooring and the base trim. This was the first mistake we made. Communication with this company, the installers and customer is horrible and never on the same page. The second mistake we made was giving them another chance when we decided to do the entire upstairs carpeting this November. We requested to not have the same installers out so they sent out another installer this time. We were quoted this being a 2 day job by Rob, never given a contract to sign for it either. We're a family of 4 with 3 cats and 3 dogs with school and work schedules to balance on top of it. I asked Rob what areas were being done which day so we could have all the furniture taken apart and moved for them and then move everything back the 1st night so they could do the other area the second day. When the installers showed up there was only 2 of them, they had no clue what was told to us, didn't know they were supposed to be doing baseboards as well (this was no fault of the installers just poor communication once again from west coast). The first day not a lot ended up getting done and our two day job turned into a 3 day which turned into a 4th day which turned into a 5th day. We planned on 2 days and had family coming in from out of town that had to get a hotel for the first night they were here because the job took 3 extra days and we still had to put our house back together. The installers picked up the baseboards and installed them and being already frustrated about this once again we didn't pay attention to the baseboards that they were installing were only primed and not painted. They were not given the correct items when they picked up from west coast, so now we have brand new carpet installed with unpainted baseboards with filler all over them, scuff and other marks. They had to come back again and paint the entire upstairs base boards over the new carpet. The second set of installers had to fix the downstairs baseboards that the first company messed up as well as the one room of carpet that the first installers installed was coming up. After they looked at it there was not one of those strips that grip the carpet installed by the first company where the carpet meets the floor which is why it was coming up, they also pulled the corners off of the base trim and there were no nails in some of the pieces. Everything finally has been fixed but we will never use West Coast flooring again or recommend them to anybody. Use your best judgment when using this place. read more

This review is based on my customer service experience and not the product or installation: Costco contracts with this company and a guy name "Fares" came out to give me a quote. First, he was a very pleasant man. I told him what I was looking for and asked his opinion of which flooring option I should buy because I was going to be getting a puppy. He then asked me if we could both sit down. I obliged. Fares then went on to tell me he couldn't install flooring at that time in 'good conscious' because he KNEW my puppy would DESTROY it, so he told me he would prefer if I called him back AFTER my puppy was fully trained. I took his advice and was SO GLAD I did. Not only did my puppy chew six holes into my walls, she also had potty and poop accidents on my carpet frequently! In addition to this, I also purchased a kitten after the puppy who was doing the same! I was SO BLESSED to have Fares as my sales person. He saved me money and frustration! Our process throughout with West Coast was fantastic having our luxury vinyl plank flooring installed. First was Rob. He was gracious during Covid-19 to answer all of our questions and provide feedback. He was very responsive to calls and emails, and helped us so much. Next was Jim and crew for the demo and install. Jim communicated well throughout and was able to handle the demo of our difficult bamboo floors. For install, his team was efficient and very respectful of our space. They checked in with us for styling questions. We hadn't moved in quite yet, and the team did a phenomenal job on the install. And the owner, who I spoke with via phone, is very personable and said if we had any problems to let him know. Needless to say, no problems at all and VERY happy with our floor. We were assigned WCFlooring through our Costco purchase vinyl flooring and carpet. The salesman stated we could have upstairs and downstairs done separately. When the two installers arrived, they were expecting our entire house to be demo'd that day. BIG mistake letting them do it, so sorry I was nice about it. We were unable to prepare downstairs properly. Two antique pictures fell off the wall and were damaged. An antique Stickley chair stored in a section of the garage they were not to use, was scratched when they stacked baseboard on top, TV cables ripped off the wall not put back. The new fridge installed 2 days before, now sits a couple of inches further into the room. The front door has a gap of 3/4 " at the bottom should have had a door seal installed to take up the gap. Rotted baseboard in upstairs not replaced. They offered to come and inspect and do a few repairs, but not all the issues would be resolved, and they wanted the same crew, not going to happen. read more

Turn around and walk away your wasting your time. They don't back their work and we turned them into the BBB upon which they failed to respond. I was ripped off and they refuse to make it right. Even the sales person Britney agreed the laminate flooring is flawed and my 19 year old daughter sat at her desk chair and the leg sank into one of the laminate boards . He had great ideas and input and I truly appreciated his guidance in selecting the final product (both LVP and carpet) that would work best for my needs. Cannot recommend working with Rob more! For install, the team was on-time, friendly and worked very fast. The end result is beautiful and just what I wanted. They did a great job and the quality of the LVP and carpet we selected is great. In full transparency, there was some minor damage to my walls and our baseboards that I was not happy with after install. Absolute the WORST flooring company! they are a Costco contracted installation Company. They installed my Laminate floor (about 2500 sq ft) in April 2022. Around the end of May/June, I noticed that a large bubble (about 7ft long by 5ft wide) started developing in my entry way, and other bubbles around the house (great room, kitchen, dining, etc). Long store short, they had to come out 4 times to do major repairs, to this very day my floor still has loose planks, unbalanced and separating. I eventually had to take them to Small Claims Court, in Riverside, Ca. (through Costco) another part of this equation, and won my case. If you use them, do it at your own risk (buyer beware). Any one who wants to see evidence, I can send pics of the multiple repair attempts, the current condition of my floor, etc. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE HIRING ANYONE FROM THIS COMPANY TO TOUCH YOUR FLOORS. read more
