About twice a year is all I need to meet my smoked meat hankering. This place is great for when I'm in the mood for BBQ, but it's my go-to spot on Tuesdays for these $3 tacos. Massive tacos made with substantial handmade tortillas and protein of your choice. I usually go with the perfectly grilled and smoky shrimp, but other options include tri-tip, brisket, pork belly or pulled pork. The best part is that they griddle one side of the tortilla with queso fresco first and then flip it over to griddle the other side with the filling inside. The result is a perfectly chewy, yet sturdy vehicle with an internal layer of cheese browned into the tortilla, holding all of the goodies (protein, raw onion and cilantro) intact. Their house made salsa is more of a roasted salsa verde but works really well with the smoky meats and packs some good heat. This place goes hard on the hunger and easy on the wallet.
