Stopped here last night before going to a movie. Didn't have to wait for a table which was a plus. Renovations looked really nice. Big bar area with multiple TVs. Waiter was great. The steak and cheese egg rolls were OK. I've had these as spring rolls at other restaurants and prefer the wrapper/filling ratio as a spring roll. I was disappointed with the chicken parmesan. It looked great but it was bland...no flavor at all. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. read more

Oh no! Last Wednesday stopped by for short ribs and was so sadly disappointed! Meat was so dry and stringy the only thing that saved dinner was the mashed and spinach! What has happened?!? My wife and I had a GREAT experience at the new Kingston location on Tuesday night. Eli was our waiter and he was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about all the different appetizer and entree selections as well as the multiple different drink offerings. He had the perfect balance between table-side "banter", menu suggestions and service......making for a really pleasant night. The food was outstanding.............from the steak & cheese egg roles to the onion soup to the Bolognese. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming and they did a terrific job with the building renovations. I work nearby at Amazon Stoughton, and heard many great reviews from my local hangout Smokey Bones Pub and Grill. I had to visit what the buzz was all about. I took out a co-worker for an afterwork bite, first and foremost I was blown back by how big this place is, nicely decorated and an inviting feeling. The hostess Caroline was pleasant and very happy to have us as diners. We were greeted by a very friendly and professional. We quickly were wooed by a glass of wine and a mixed drink. I ordered the perfectly balanced West End Salad enough for me, my guest ordered the delectable Calamari served and cooked to perfection. My main entree was Statler Chicken (oven roasted chicken breast served over parmesan risotto with spinach roasted red peppers and aspagarus (yummy!!!) my guest ordered the Salmon. We were in foodie heaven, this place has rocking food, great ingredients and fast effecient service. The food is a little on the higher side pricewise, however you get great portions and quality. All said and done it was worth every hard earned dollar and the experience was memorable. They did a great job with the West End Grill, you kind of feel like your in Boston not in Randolph. Highly recommend this for a night out, dinner before a movie (movie theatre closeby) or just to catch a few sporting events. You won't be disappointed just don't make it a daily experience, enjoy the West End Grill experience. We tried this place recently- it looks so tiny from the outside and we drive by it constantly. A few Fridays ago, we figured we would stop in for some drinks and an app or two. We were pleasantly surprised by how big the inside of this place is- We were greeted warmly by the hostesses at the front door who asked us if we were looking to sit at a table, or the bar. It was Friday night so we decided we would try the bar- they pointed us straight through to a packed bar! We had to come back and ask for a table. They were able to sit us in the bar area, so it still felt like we were part of the action! Our server was very friendly, answered all our questions and brought our drinks promptly. I ordered a side order of truffle fries and the honey Buffalo chicken tenders. J ordered a prime rib steak with potato and vegetable on the side (guess we were not on the same page about appetizers!). Both my selections were amazing- perfect blend of hot and sweet for the chicken, and the fries were decently sized, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned with Parmesan & herb. J finished most of his steak and both his sides, said it was cooked really well and the vegetable (which can always be bland) was pretty good too! (It was broccoli). This looks like a cool place to bring a group of friends for a casual lateish meal, to watch a game or something on tv- but also seems appropriate for date night if you sat in the dining room! I think this is the first time I have actually gone to sit at a bar by myself ( daughter and her friend were next door at a movie) Love that there is space! Don't feel crowded or cramped sitting at the bar. Had two cold beers and steak tips/veggies and fries, it all was very tasty. Steak tips were cooked just as I requested. After a long day at the TPC Boston was looking for a quick bite close to our hotel. Greeted by our awesome waitress McKenzie, who delivered our drinks quicker than any waitress ever (smart business move, bring drinks quick). Had a great burger and hot pastrami sandwich, prepared perfect; upgraded to the house fries and onion rings... rings were lightly breaded and not greasy, as they usually are. First time coming here. The decor is really nice and looks brand new. I got a cheese pizza. It wasn't as dry as other bar-styled pizzas seem to be, and the crust was great! They also didn't put a lot of spices on top of the cheese which made me happy. My friend got a chicken Caesar wrap. It was huge and she said the dressing was delicious. She got pasta salad as her side, which is different. The service was fine, no complaints. Overall things were pretty good, but not very memorable. read more

If you are on a diet and wish to eat small portions, The West End Grill is the place to go. My wife and I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop special and were greeted by two lonely scallops along with three measly shrimp. Flavor was not bad, but you feel like you went to the movies and the projector shut down before the finale. In other words, we don't recommend others to pay for a meal like this. On a brighter side, the waitress was terrific and I looked for her name on her blouse, and saw the word "grill", but no name tag. Management should train servers to introduce themselves, purchase name tags, and spend more time catching seafood. read more

My husband and I ate here Sunday night 2/28/16. First of all if you say a chop salad on the menu then the greens should be chopped,instead I got a player of spinach leaves which are not mixed greens. My husbands' starker chicken was the smallest stapler chicken we have ever seen,it was about the size of 2 chicken wings.The asparagus that came with it was over steamed and was a pitiful portion . We will never return to this restaurant! We were both very disappointed. I walked in and was greeted by the hostess after 30 seconds of standing there. I was seated and the waiter took my order. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Dinner which was $18.99. Now it was almost all over-cooked fries on the plate with 7 medium sized shrimp. It also had a small dish of cole slaw that tasted like it came from Stop & Shop. Now after that meal. I wish I had gone to a local 99 restaurant. I could have had the same dinner with more shrimp on the plate for $9.99! Won't try this place again anytime soon! read more

My boyfriend and I had lunch and drinks here and it was delicious. This restaurant has a delightful ambiance. It has a beautiful color scheme and open feel. There are a few big screens for entertainment as well. The bartender, Dave, made me a cucumber martini and my boyfriend a chocolate martini both were great and for a reasonable price. The staff seemed attentive and pleasant. I had scrod and my boyfriend had pizza and both meals were full of flavor, and again reasonably priced. I definitely plan on visiting again soon. read more

The food was delicious and the staff was friendly.  The place itself is nice and clean.   I sat at the bar and the bartender kept calling me "Hon".  I find that so annoying.  I understand it's my preference to not want someone so much younger than me call me hon or babe or sweetie, so I took no points away.  I work 7 - 4, so I usually go to lunch at 11.  This place is close to my job, so I went there for the second time today.  One of my biggest pet peeves is a restaurant that opens at a certain time, but then said restaurant is not ready to serve at that time.   I sat at the bar and ordered the pastrami rueben special with chips.  It took way too long to get my order.  The place was literally empty.  If there were any other customers there or if my meal required cooking other than heating pastrami and toasting bread, I could understand.  There weren't even fries with the meal; it was served with chips.  It also annoyed me to see 4 employees standing in a group having a 15 minute conversation while I waited for my meal.  I realize it was slow, but is there nothing to be done?  How about help the cook with my sandwich?  I was looking for a relaxing escape for lunch and left a little more stressed than when I arrived. read more

Ok so this is a difficult one to write, the only way I can do this is by writing the pros and cons: Pros - they have a few items that are on the menu that are pure bliss. The short ribs, bolognese rigatoni, Tuscan eggplant salad & the clam chowder are simply the best thing ever!!!! They know these recipes and each time I have had them it has been spectacular! The wait staff is really nice and friendly, and one manager is super sweet as well. If I was craving the above I would definitely order to go, because it is worth it. Cons - now for the bad, and why as a whole I will never be going back again. So those dishes that I described as other worldly, well that's it. They change their menu so much it is ridiculous, and evident in the cooking technique with their food. Instead of beautiful grill marks and a nice grill flavor, you get chard food that has parts that are way under cooked, or way over cooked. They don't know how to grill shrimp. I ordered some tonight and the way it was cooked makes it seem like the "chef" has no clue as what they are doing. Half of the shrimp appeared raw and hardly looked like it touched the grill, and the other half looked like they landed in charcoal and were so over cooked it was like chewing on rubber. I had said something to a manager and her response was tiger prawns all cook differently and that's just how it is. I'm sorry but I cook tiger prawns often, and that is wrong; secondly the half that looked like charcoal were obviously cooked improperly which leads me to believe someone didn't go to culinary school. So with the changing of their menu, which seems like every other month, along with their specials twice daily; they have no clue how to cook the food. The other issue is how long you wait once your seated to get service. This has been an issue ever since I had started going to this place trying to give it another chance; but alas they just don't know how to manage their wait staff. Apparently, their staff memorizes your order, which gets screwed up often; and what happened to me tonight. Word of advice, your not a high end restaurant, have your servers write their orders down! After the mishap with a salad, it took them 45 minutes to get my order to me, meanwhile my partner had completed his meal and was ready to go. Furthermore, I order another ice tea, 15 minutes later I assume the waitress remembered my order and brought it to me. Fast forward to the bill and I look down and nothing was comped and or a partial discount for their screw up. Every Time I have come here there has always been an issue. I kept giving them chances because of the few items on their menu that are amazing; but after trying something new I realized they are not that great. This review is directed toward management and to the "chefs" at this establishment. The wait staff can only do so much and what is requested of them by management. One of the first things about a restaurant is you need to make sure you have a solid menu and that you know how to cook and prepare food/ingredients. The other thing is making sure the demands you place on your waitstaff are attainable; and stop changing your menu all the time!!!!! You are not Gordon Ramsey or an Iron Chef.....this place has potential, but needs A LOT of help.... read more

I am a frequent customer and always had excellent service from the bartenders and the food is excellent so it was a no brainer to celebrate my birthday there so I made reservation for 7pm the Wednesday of the weekend I wanted to host my event and was given the confirmation I was all set. On the day I arrived and was told my the front that my reservations were given away which definitely was an inconvenience to me and my guests who were starting to arrive and we had to wait upfront. I was told by the manage that a large crowd of 7 or so came and they were given my table regardless if I made reservations if the table is available when a large number come they would have access to the tables. It's unfair that my reservations were not honored and when I told the manager it was unacceptable after her tried to find a table in the dining room, because that's was not my request he rudely walked away. The front staff apologized endlessly not once did he see any wrong he was doing. Eventually I found a few tables by the bar but my guests couldn't all sit together which was not okay. The bartender made sure my guests was very well taken care of, but I am highly disappointed because I would of never thought a manager would of acted so rude and insensitive that my night was in ruins. I will continue to go because Dave is amazing but the manager is beyond rude and doesn't have any customer service skills nor did he didn't offer a discount or anything to right his wrong. read more

The portions are ridiculously small I got 4 steak tips on my plate and my hand cut truffle parm fries were still frozen. Even the drinks were served half empty or half full however you want to look at it. To make up for my frozen fries they brought me fries to go = cold fries later. The atmosphere was like eating in a well lit warehouse cafeteria (no ambiance.) The worst 100.00 I have ever spent!
