Service- good, friendly Seatong - no issues at 4 pm in Saturday. Even got an upstairs patio table. Food - the fish and chips received a good review from the table. The seasoning was done well and the finish crispy. The steak and frites - not the best. Meat was dry and overcooked and lacked flavor. All the seasoning was on the fries. For $30, i expected better.

This review is specifically based on my bar experience (no food). November 2025: My husband and I sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks. The bartender was friendly and the barstools were comfortable! I ordered the Old Buffalo from the cocktail menu and got it smoked. It was awesome! I loved the Bourbon and the smoke enhancement. We also met a few people while we were there and we enjoyed the warm, social environment.

West End Tavern really pulled up with the comfort food swagger today. Started with the burnt ends -- because obviously. Smoky, tender, perfectly charred... the kind of bite that makes you consider changing careers and becoming a pitmaster. (I won't. But I considered it.) Then came the Shepherd's Pie, which had this sneaky little spice kick. Not enough to start a fire, but enough to remind you you're alive and possibly still have dreams. I respect that. Coworkers came in strong with the Soup of the Day and the Smoked Turkey Cobb Salad. One of them even used the phrase "This is actually really good" with that tone people use when they're pleasantly shocked food has seasoning. Progress. Now the bourbon? Listen. The bourbon shelf here is serious. It's giving "we don't just pour whiskey, we curate feelings." I sat there longer than I meant to. I have no regrets. Verdict: Cozy. Tasty. Slightly dangerous (in a bourbon way). Travelin_Broke Approved -- obviously.

An amazing spot to grab a beer, meal, and catch the Broncos game. The food here is great and they have an array of whiskeys to select from. I made the right decision by trying their fish and chips. Extra crispy white cod with crispy fries and slaw. I highly recommend it. My wife really enjoyed her brisket plate and we tried the chicken skewer appetizer. What a great bar atmosphere and the service is great. Food came out quickly. We'll be back for sure.

Stopped in for food after a hike. The bacon wrapped dates were absolutely delicious and I highly recommend them. The local beer was good. Service was polite and quick. We sat on the rooftop with some nice views. I highly recommend stopping in for a snack and drinks.

Delicious food in a great location! My mom, sister, and I booked a reservation while we were in town and we were lucky enough to get a table on the rooftop. The menu offered a lot of options, including options for those with dietary restrictions. We ordered the tavern queso, burnt ends, smoked brisket sandwich, tavern burger, and sweet potato fries. For drinks, we had the strawberry stampede and the sour beer on draft and they were really good!

After reading the good reviews for this restaurant, I had hopes for a promising meal--unfortunately, that was not the case. For starters, maybe this is just me and my dining companions, but we had a bit of a difficult time finding the restaurant due to the poor signage. I noticed the banners on the corner of the street, but that was the only clear advertisement. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly employee and were seated right away. We ended up ordering a burger, bbq pork sandwich, and brisket sandwich, all of which were hardly lukewarm. The only sides that were served hot were the sweet potato fries and onion rings, my fries were cold. The consensus: food isn't great, on average about a 5/10, but we could see how it might be good after you've had a few drinks. 3 stars since our waiter was very friendly and gave us some menu suggestions, but if it weren't for him, I'd probably knock it down to a 1 star review. I definitely won't be returning.

Great vibey BBQ spot. Food was excellent. Had the butcher block and brisket sandwich. My favorite was the ribs! Server was excellent. I would recommend making a reservation for dinner as the wait is 30 minutes usually.

We came back again for Happy Hour on the rooftop patio. Not ideal weather, cloudier than earlier in the day for the perfect view but still worth the hike up the stairs. Good music too. Last time we were at West End, my husband . An amber/red ale drinker had an out of state option since the house draft, El Corn was out of stock. Yet again, though on the happy hour menu it was again out. Luckily the. Server was willing to sub the other for Happy Hour price which we appreciated. Maybe next time the house beer. Will be in stock. Only one other table was occupied midweek. Though I guarantee it would be hard to get seating on a weekend later at night. If you want the view and fun, plan ahead. We each ordered the higher end slider burger and shared the sweet potato fries. The Prairie Star smash slider is a great upgrade on meat and sustainable ranching. It was also the larger version of a slider and perfectly cooked. I would definitely get it again as well as in the full size burger. My iced tea was just right. Fries order, ample enough to bring some home for lunch today. At dusk , there can be gnats on the roof near the planters. Probably a bigger crowd would scare them away. Will be back another time and enjoy the updated interior inside. Loved the new floors and seating styles!

Solid spot, nothing to write home about. The Brussels sprouts and burnt ends are major highlights and the upstairs patios are awesome.

Really cool spot on Pearl St. in Boulder. It was recommended by a local shop owner so we decided to stop in for a drink. Ended up eating dinner there and the food was great. The wings, queso, brisket sandwich and Tavern burger were all awesome. For any millennials - the Tavern burger kind of tasted like a nostalgic 90s burger from your childhood. All really good choices. Cool beer selection and excellent staff. The bartender on the second floor was great. Highly recommend.

Brisket sandwich? 4.5 outta 5 from me and a reason to visit this spot for sure. Heck, as our wonderful server said, and now I agree, if it involves the smoked brisket say yes and don't look back. We stopped in for a late dinner and the spot was still very much alive. The vibes were high, smiles and drinks flowing, and the first hint of fall was in the evening's air as we enjoyed a couple of seats on the patio. So why 4.5? I've gotta say it's the bread and the fries honestly. The bread was generic Texas toast. It had been well toasted but the texture was very dense and doughy, and the flavor generally bland. In addition to texture, I like the bread to add some character in a sandwich and this one just didn't do that for me. And the fries were just frozen fries. Nothing remarkable and kinda disappointing considering I'm assuming they spend some time on the brisket and other food. But the brisket? 5/5 perfectly rendered, juicy, rich, smoky and meaty. There's no shortage of it on the sandwich either. It's monstrous and so good. The roasted garlic aioli is a solid compliment too. Solid meal for sure.

West End Tavern is a staple in Boulder and a place I look forward to dining at. It's a damn reliable local spot on Pearl Street. With a sea of restaurant options nearby, West End always delivers. After a long event day, I was craving a laid back dining experience. I also wanted some killer food to impress my out-of-town colleague. Although there are still so many places in Boulder for me to check off my list, I simply wanted a dependable spot with pub food and a good beer list. West End Tavern fit my food/drink/ambiance needs to a T. *Pro tip: grab a spot on the front patio along Pearl Street* *Double pro tip: if you have an adventurous diner in your party, go halfsies on the sandwiches so you get to try multiple items!* PATTY MELT ($17) // two house ground brisket patties, swiss, caramelized onion, kick it up sauce, buttered texas toast. Woah, this thing was meaty and unctuous. Though neither sandwich was nothing to look at, the flavors were great. My only ask was that the bread had a better toast and crisp to it. Still a very above average patty melt with great melty cheese. SMOKED BRISKET SANDWICH ($19) // smoked garlic mayo, red onion, house- made pickles, kc bbq sauce, buttered sourdough toast. You'd never know, but they're serious about their BBQ here. Again, the sandwich didn't look aesthetically pleasing, but the brisket was divine. I just wish the bread had more of a toast to it like the other sandwich. The fries and onion rings were standard, nothing to rave about. I do like their Colorado-focused beer list. I snagged one of my favorite IPA's from New Image. And I must give props to our server, who was polite, informative and extremely friendly.

I consider myself a fair reviewer, and will do my best to provide constructive criticism in hopes the management will take some steps to educate their staff. My husband, daughter and I spent the night at the Boulderado on the evening of 4/23. In the morning -4/24 -while they finished packing I went down to the restaurant first to get a table as we only had about 50 minutes to go back to our room to get our belongings and check out. The restaurant was not very busy, and I thought to myself, "Great!" The hostess picked up 3 menus, then paused, sighed, and said she wanted to give the server a bit more time to catch up, and she asked me to sit on a bench, though there were multiple open tables where I would have gladly waited. My husband and daughter joined me shortly thereafter and the hostess finally seated us, saying there was only one server working. She handed us 2 breakfast menus when there were clearly 3 of us, and my husband had to get up and go to the host stand to get another one. Our server came by after some time and took our order. Oddly, we saw a different server with another table so she was not the only server working after all. She brought my husby's coffee, but no spoon. Well, at least there was a knife because several servers passed our table without even a glance. He was never asked if he wanted a refill, even when he asked for a spoon and his cup was nearly empty. She didn't even give him enough time to ask for more. The kicker was the manager, pony tail guy- standing outside the restaurant in front of the coffee bar with our server and two other young ladies, laughing it up while we were sitting there completely surrounded by no coffee. Not one person asked if they could bring us anything else throughout the entirety of our meal. We literally had to wave them down for the spoon, then nothing. Time was running out so I sent my grumpy husband and frustrated daughter back to the room to get our luggage and said I'd wait for the server to pay. I sat there another 5 minutes holding my credit card up, and even caught the eye of pony tail guy across the bar, but eventually had to just go to the bartender to ask for the bill. I likely could have just walked out without paying and no one would have even noticed! I will say the food was fine. Hubby had the Denver omelette, which he said was flavorful, and our daughter and I each had the Avocado toast which was very nice. Loved the seedy bread. However, the service-or lack thereof- left a bad taste in our mouths. We love the Boulderado and will be back, but unless there is some training of their young waitstaff we aren't likely to return to Spruce. Overall, the restaurant staff seemed completely disinterested in the customers and couldn't be bothered to even offer a friendly smile. For a hotel like the Boulderado with the reputation of a historic gem, we expect much more from their restaurant. We have dined there previously, most recently last year when we had a lovely server, a much more mature and professional lady who was lively and joked with us. It was a very busy morning and she made sure we felt taken care of even when things took longer. We left with a smile on our faces. A few final words of wisdom- 1) even if things are busy, stop by a new table to offer a pleasant word and let customers know someone will be with them shortly, even if it's not your table 2) when you bring coffee be sure you provide a spoon, and at least one check in about a refill 3) stop by to ask if your customers need anything else, and get them their check in a timely manner 4) if you are a manager, don't stand around gabbing with your staff in plain sight of your customers, while said customers are being ignored, and 5) a smile goes a long way. The only smile we got was from the bartender who at one point seemed to be the only person running the show.

The drinks were definitely expensive, but we were happy to pay for a quality experience at an upscale restaurant. We ordered multiple appetizers, had several drinks, sat at the bar for quite a while, and honestly about to leave thinking this was a place we would probably come back to. That changed the second the bill arrived. Buried into the check was a 7% "kitchen surcharge." In other words, the restaurant decided to pass along kitchen payroll costs directly onto the customer without being upfront about it. If you're not paying close attention, you could easily end up tipping on top of that surcharge as well, essentially paying an extra hidden fee without realizing it. At a restaurant positioning itself as upscale and classy, this came across as incredibly tacky and cheap. Pay your staff properly and price your menu accordingly instead of sneaking surprise fees onto the bill at the very end. That's not hospitality. That's the kind of nickel and diming people expect from budget airlines, not a supposedly high end dining experience. It completely ruined what had otherwise been a nice night. We were seriously considering coming back before this happened. Now we won't return.

Flavourful shakshuka with perfectly poached eggs, avocado and feta served alongside naan bread. This meal was comforting and delicious without being overly filling. I can't recommend The Kitchen enough! If I'm ever back in Boulder I will definitely be back. I would love to try the lunch or dinner menu!

This was a pretty good meal unexpectedly after the BOLDERBoulder run last weekend!…read more We thought the area would be too packed to find a table, but surprisingly there were plenty of open seats at around noon on Memorial Day. There are only two tables on their patio that have an umbrella, so we were sitting in the sun at first and it was getting really hot (but then we were able to snag a shaded table when it freed up shortly after) All of the menu options sounded so good, we started with drinks, I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it had egg white in it and was so delicious. We ordered the burrata appetizer and all of our means at the same time. Unfortunately, the appetizer never came out, our server for that to put it in. I ended up going with the Bolognese and it was really good so was the steak frites and street cart chicken that my friends had. Their fries are pretty good. The server felt really bad for forgetting about our appetizer and offered us a free dessert instead, so we tried the churro donuts which were ok. I'm still it was a good meal and I would definitely come back if I'm in the Boulder area again soon

If you love the feel of Paris, then you'll have to stop by Brasserie Ten Ten!…read more Ambiance is perfectly set up with amazing attention to detail with that French bistro authenticity and charm. The service is incredible and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is incredible and presented like you would expect from a French chef. Not a lot of plant based options, however, the Beet Salad with vinaigrette is outstanding, so there is that to enjoy. The flavors of sweet and salty are balanced perfectly! The colors and vibrancy also made it picture worthy. They offer an incredible wine selection that will suit everyone's tastes and preferences. Also, if you love coffee, their roast is delicious and it's the best ending to a lovely meal. Don't miss this place if you want a Parisian-style experience!

Brasserie Ten Ten feels increasingly rare now…read more Even in very good restaurants, actual tablecloths have become uncommon. At lunch, rarer still. So when you settle into Brasserie Ten Ten, with its white linen, substantial silverware, mirrors, low conversational buzz, and faint 1920s salon energy, you will notice. There's something a little Gertrude Stein about the place: people lingering, talking, drinking and eating well, behaving as if the outside world can wait. It feels slightly Parisian, in the best way. Refined but lived in. A room designed for appetite and conversation. If cigarettes were still allowed, you could almost imagine someone chain smoking over a third glass of wine while arguing about literature or the affair they're having. But this is still Boulder, where the fantasy stops just short of the inevitable side-eye and civic disapproval. And then there is the gauze-wrapped lemon. The first time I ever saw one of those mesh bundles tied up for squeezing over seafood, I thought it was the height of sophistication and luxury. The gauze has the faint sexiness of pantyhose while also serving a very practical purpose. A factory worker's kid like me being mesmerized by a lemon condom probably tells you something about aspiration in America. I started with the pâté, which was exactly the right kind of decadent. I paid the extra charge to swap the crostini for bread, which was absolutely the correct decision. I ate about a third and boxed the rest before things got irresponsible. The Boulder influence...nah. The accompaniments were classic: grainy mustard, tiny olives, and a small pile of pickled vegetables cutting through all that pâté richness. The bouillabaisse was mostly lovely. The seafood was cooked expertly, which matters in a dish where every type requires slightly different timing. The shrimp were especially sweet. I would have liked more cod, which felt a little stingy, and while the saffron broth was flavorful, it leaned more tomato-forward than I personally prefer. Still, between the mussels, shrimp, cod, rouille-slathered toast, and that absurdly elegant lemon situation, the fisherman's stew delivered exactly the kind of brasserie pleasure I came searching for. Service at the bar was confident and relaxed. Two bartenders understood the balance between attentiveness and hovering. Not doting, which I don't need, but every need was met. Real napkins. A dedicated, and attended, host stand. People who seemed comfortable in the room instead of performing hospitality theater. Not an everyday lunch. You notice the prices. You should. But every once in a while, it's good to sit somewhere that still believes lunch can stretch a little too long, conversation matters, and a gauze-wrapped lemon can still feel faintly glamorous. There may be no cigarette smoke, no Left Bank argument unfolding over wine, no real salon except the one you briefly imagine. But Brasserie Ten Ten still knows how to make lunch feel like an act of civilization: linen, appetite, conversation, and just enough theatre to make the afternoon seem...negotiable. Gertrude Stein probably would've approved.
