The icing on the cake of this Colorado trip was trying the infamous, novelty food item: Rocky Mountain Oysters. A cold beer and it was go time. The best way to describe Rocky Mountain Oysters is fried Calamari minus the fishy, ocean taste. They are quite pleasant. Deep fry anything and serve with ranch and lemon and it's delicious! We had a fantastic experience at West Saloon & Kitchen in Denver. Cameron was our server and he is truly a great asset to the restaurant. He was extremely attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our visit. I travel almost weekly and he is honestly one of the best servers I have come across anywhere. I also want to recognize Ally, one of the managers. She was very helpful not only to us but to several tables around us. She made a point to check in, was very friendly, and clearly cares about the guests' experience. The food was delicious and we ended up spending several hours there during happy hour because we were enjoying it so much. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. We had a party of 7 and were sat immediately. Nice! Our waitress was attentive but not too much. She answered all of our questions, and split our checks with ease. She was awesome. We had an assortment of dishes and cocktails and no one expressed disappointment. In fact, no one left food on their plates either. Our crowd favorite was the Cast Iron Chicken Pot Pie. Several friends thought this was flavorful and hearty for a cold, snowy day. Another friend loved the Rodeo burger. I chose the Chicken Fajita Salad. Its was delicious. I haven't had Napa cabbage as a foundation, but man, it was tasty and offered a nice texture. It was tossed with roasted corn, fajita veggies and dill ranch. All topped with cotija cheese, crispy wonton strips, guajillo crema, chimmichurri vinaigrette, Mountain Man Micro Farms cilantro, and all-natural grilled chicken. I just hung out at the bar on a conference evening. Easy walk, good atmosphere on a descent little "touristy" street. Descent menu with good chilli and looked better than standard for general burgers and the like. A definite go if you're in the area for a conference. Most things about just as pricey as would be expected - I'm about done paying $20 for a cheese burger, but until the masses revolt, that is the deal at a place like this. read more

Great place for any occasion! Cool enough to feel casual and nice enough to go formal. Food and drinks were delicious (and strong )! The artwork and general vibe are very well curated, and most impressive of all was the service. Bumped into this place while walking and decided to eat. Bit on the pricier side but the service and food make up for it. Service was great and attentive whereas everything on the menu was delicious. The drinks were good and the fishbowl came in two sizes... the large is pictured. The short rib stroganoff was good and had a nice amount of short ribs. The mushroom burger was good but dry. We asked for some of the garlic aioli alto add to it and that helped. Fries were nice and crispy. The peach crumble I wanted to love but couldn't. It had a "donut glaze" type sauce which tasted like sweetened condensed milk and a made the peach crumble too sweet. We couldn't do more than a bite or two each. Overall I would recommend this restaurant but would recommend sauce for the burger and get the crumble without the sauce! read more

I had two experiences with West Saloon & Kitchen on a recent trip to Denver. One night, two of us visited for a quick bite. The waiter was efficient and payed attention to everything and our picky order requests were spot on. The burgers were good and the patio is a great place to people watch. Try the gelato place next door to top off the night! Second, a few days later I took a group of 20 women to brunch there. My husband and I came here on a Friday night and we had the best time! This place is right off 16 Street Mall so it's the perfect spot to go to after a day of shopping at the Pavilions or a great spot to go before or after a show at the Paramount because it's RIGHT next door! They have super fun seasonal cocktails. I got the mountain spice which was sweet and tasted just like the holidays! Their in house smoked wings are not to be missed! I also loved the carrot cake! Finding a great place to eat for 4 Flight Attendants with different tastes in food is hard.. But this place did just that. We loved the fun ambiance and huge selection of beer. The whole experience was excellent!! The food was scrumptious and the staff was very accommodating! I sat outside while it was sprinkling and there was a very convenient umbrella fully covering me and my table. My waiter (Cameron M.) was very helpful. When I couldn't choose between two options on the menu he found a way to allow me to try both. I purchased the Shroom Burger with a cracked pepper salmon side salad. The burger was juicy, rich, and cooked perfectly without skimping on the mushrooms and the salad was delicious with beets and perfectly cooked salmon. I was able to swap out the lettuce on my burger for spinach without any extra charge, and the cheesecake egg rolls were delicious but light. The well gin and tonic was better than many $12 varieties I've tried and was a steal at $7. I was able to get a tall cider at short prices due to happy hour. There was no awkwardness over me being a young woman dining alone, which is not always the case at other establishments. There was a small surcharge but a conveniently located note at the bottom of my receipt explained why and saved me the nerve inducing interaction of asking my server. Overall, a REALLY enjoyable experience, when I'm back in Denver this will ALWAYS be a stop. read more

West of Surrender Saloon and Kitchen was lovely! We stopped by because we saw their outdoor patio seating had misted spray to help cool you down while you eat. Granted, the inside ambiance looked stunning as well. We tried the Philly Cheesesteak and the cup of chili, both were delicious! Also tried their Peacemaker cocktail, basically a Manhattan but they use an Earl Grey infused simple syrup which was delicious. Stopped in for brunch today, and I'm so glad I did. Chef Charles outdid himself!!! They had two specials. First, the breakfast tacos are delicious. I like that he put them on top of the delicious potatoes that are covered in their green chili, and then the chorizo and egg tacos are placed on top. I do not recall what is inside the tacos, but yummmmm. One of the things I love is that it is a fried flour tortilla, not the usual corn. It's so unique and soooooo good. Secondly, the pumpkin pie. Stop by on Friday, January 12th 2023, with another couple for a late lunch early dinner. Big shout out to our server Michelle!!! We started with adult drinks of two margaritas & two tall draft beers. Our appetizers were (at Michelle's suggestion) prosciutto and fig flatbread & meatballs! Both very good and tasty. Our main entrées were: 120z Ribeye with extra Brussels sprouts, cooked to perfection! Two spinach sirloin salad with 3oz of steak cooked perfectly. A cider roasted chicken with rice pilaf, cooked perfectly juicy. For desserts (yes we still had room), a Mammoth, slice of carrot cake, moist & delicious.
