Best breakfast and customer service in town! I highly recommend their vegetable omelet!

West Side is just a great diner! I absolutely love their stuffed shells! You can't go wrong when ordering breakfast, get started with a good hot cup of Joe(french toast,pancakes, omelettes,sausage,BACON,sausage gravy and biscuits,,,YUM), or one of their patty melts or cheese steak subs with nice piping hot fries..be still my heart...Their soups are always great....actually... pretty much everything is great! reasonable prices and loads of food! I always take half of what I order home... Sure it's full of locals, I happen to be one! Proud of it!!! Keep doing what your doing folks! It's working!!! read more

I would have loved to rate the restaurant but sadly I can't. There is no "0" so I have to choose "1". My husband wanted to take me out to dinner on Thursday, November 11th for my birthday. I chose Westside because I heard and read lots of great reviews. To make sure you would be open due to the Veteran's Day holiday, I called around 3 pm on the 11th to find out. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that yes, you would be open until 8:00 pm. So at 6:00 we drove over and guess what? Hey listen - don't listen any of the 1 star reviewers here... They all have the pallette of a 5 year old. Westside rocks. Rocks harder than metallica. Big ol pancakes, big ol hunks of scrapple, big ol potatoes and big ol smiles on everyone's faces. The restaurant is clean and taken care of. You can tell just by walking in that it's the life of Milford. a gigantic asset to the community. Their social media keeps me drawn in even when I can't get there. I could see why locals would give West Side a 5 star review: it's obviously a family owned, local dive, with reasonable prices and good food. The problem with places like this is that their biggest appeal is also their biggest drawback. Here's the thing, even though I live in a big city now, I'm still a country boy at heart. I appreciate big portions, which they have, hearty options, (corned beef hash anyone?) and sort of an, "at-home" feel. (fake flowers are fine for me!) What I don't like, is every person in the restaurant staring at me because I dress a little more trendy than coveralls or sack dresses (I didn't walk in wearing drag or anything for crying out loud)- the bus boys walking around like they own the place, being yelled at from across the diner by the manager/owner (mom, possibly?) and the fact that we clearly waited much longer to get our food than everyone surrounding, which made us feel like we were shunned for not being local. Our server literally dropped off our and we never saw her again. If this all part of like a diner schtick routine, it could be funny and over the top, but honestly, it felt like the staff didn't care that they were a little unprofessional. My home fries were cold on the top and hot on the bottom, which was weird, but otherwise everything was delicious and our coffee was always topped off and hot (albeit by everyone except our server)! I just wish that places like this were a LITTLE more traveler friendly... I would definitely come back here with my parents (who are local to Milford) but I probably wouldn't bring my friends here... This little diner is a town gem. Madula an her crew are doing a heroic job keeping this place spotless and her customers well taken care of through all the challenges that this seemingly endless pandemic has thrown in their direction. If you're not comfortable eating in, I highly recommend taking out. The chicken pot pie is delicious, and it reheats beautifully as leftovers. I ordered prime rib pink. They delivered a thin slab of flank or butt, overcooked to a dry brown. Not a drop of juice left in it. I had to cut the broccoli with the steak knife. I have ordered prime rib hundreds of times and never got anything this pathetic. I also buy prime rib at the grocery all the time. This was NOT prime rib. I think the waitress knew better than to ask; she looked at my steak with only two bites out of it and did not ask me how it was. My grandson liked the pancakes so we ordered two to go. When we got home we found they were half the size of what we had in the restaurant. PS The cutlery was so thin and cheap that it hurt my fingers when I tried to cut the steak. read more

First time here. Old, quant, medium sized diner where it's "obvious" locals love it here. The waitress was super nice (a Texan, from Houston to be exact) and when asked if changes could be made to the western omelette sausage instead of ham, she went to the kitchen, asked and it was no problem. So, the kitchen is accommodating to customer requests. The plate in the photo was less than $6, it could literally feed an adult and two children or two adults easily lol. The service was nice. The food was really tasty specifically the omelette - peppers were fresh, sausage was real, potatoes were fresh.... the only thing to be warned about which has nothing to do with the diner..... Remember where you are and if you are not a regular or from this old town the customers will know and their looks will definitely tell you how they feel about you. Pretty good food, decent service but, unprofessional and unwelcoming environment. Every time we've gone in, with and without our 3 kids, we get stared at, both from customers and from the owner or manager (not sure which he is but, definitely someone of authority). It's a very uncomfortable environment to be in and because of this, we've stopped frequenting this establishment, which we had visited often for several months. They lost us at their rudeness and lack of manners! The very last time my husband and I visited, they cooked my "chicken cheese steak" with vinegar which was the most horrible excuse for a hot sub I've ever tasted. Wow, this place has fantastic pricing, good, homemade style food, and quick service. My Wife had the Flounder filet and I had the Greek Spinach Pie. The fish was lightly coated and fried, to perfection. It was moist, tender, and flaky. The coating was light and not oily. But the real star here is the Greek Spinach Pie. The owner is obviously of Grecian descent and the Pie is delectable. Like a large, round Spankopanita. Delicate filo dough and a delicious, creamy spinach filling. Absolutely delightful. Take note that the Spinach Pie is made fresh on Tuesdays, so any other day the pie might not be as fresh. Don't let the interior scare you off. The place is very clean, it is just in need of updated seating. The booths and tables are circa 1980's. The staff knows the locals and treats them like family. You can tell that the community whole-heartedly supports this restaurant. It is hard to find, but if you can locate the Milford Post Office, just drive down alongside the rail road tracks to the next block, and the restaurant is on your left. read more

Great Breakfast Restaurant! Stayed in Milford while attending Sports at the Beach Baseball Tournament. We were looking for a good breakfast place near our hotel and definitely found it! Very laid back and mostly locals. Waitress was very friendly and personable. Service was fast.The breakfast was excellent....Fried eggs, sausage links, fried potatoes and toast. The customer service was good and everyone in the facility was very nice. Besides that I can not say I saw anything else in there to bring me back to the restaurant. The flys were unbearable and left me thinking that there would be dead flys in my salad. The inside of the restaurant was a little dirty and led me to believe that the facility was not maintained well.
