Local restaurant serves up tasty brunch with family feel. Efficient and friendly, the staff here know how to turn tables. We went on a Sunday and had perfect pancakes, and a cheddar omelet. The home fries were undercooked, but the coffee and everything else was on point.

    Cinnamon Roll Pancake

Oh my goodness! I had heard rumblings about these cinnamon roll pancakes so I finally came over here to try these. They absolutely live up to the hype. Everyone was super friendly too. The place is very much like a down home old fashioned diner feel. You feel like you're home. Amazing place. I wish it wasn't always so busy but...you can't knock a place for being too busy. They deserve every customer they get. Great job!

Superior breakfast at West Side Restaurant in Milford, DE. A little hard to find it what appeared to be a warehouse district in the older part of town. But, GPS got us there and after a quick drive around we found the entrance to the smallish parking lot, and the front door inside the covered patio. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, with our server easily subbing tater tots for hash browns and refilling our coffee in "to go" cups so we could take them with us. My Chicken Fried Steak with two Sunny Side Ups was excellent. The steak was flavorful and moist and absorbed the runny yolks well. The tots were crisp without being oily, and the Sausage Gravy (on the side) was delicious and great for dipping the taters in. Son's Patty Melt and Fries were the way he liked them - medium finish, so he could taste and enjoy the quality ground beef in the patty. We were both pleasantly surprised by our meals, not thinking that Milford offered anything this good in a drive through roadville along Route 113. Very happy to stand corrected on that score. Def worth a return visit.

    Florentine Omellette with Egg Whites

Tasty Sunday brunch. Country fried steak was great ... crispy, tasty, and tender. Spinach and tomato Florentine Omelet is very good. The waitress was fast and checked on us often for this diner like ambiance.

Probably the best breakfast place around. Good big, tasty portions at a great price. Looking forward to lunch there one day.

It took a few for minutes for our server to come to the table. She was not overly friendly but seemed to be okay. We ordered a Bacon Omelette with potatoes and wheat toast and a BLT breakfast sandwich. Food was out in a reasonable amount of time, brought by someone from the kitchen. The food was good, nothing great but decent. We did have a cinnamon roll and it was absolutely delicious. We never saw our server again, she never checked on us, and I would have liked some more tea and some more jelly. We waited about 2o minutes to get our bill after we were done, our plates neatly put together and sitting on the table and she never came to our table. We went up other her ask for our check and she told us to just pay at the cash register. So, all in all, not a great experience. I saw other waitresses who were attentive to their tables so I think it was just our waitress. I didn't see her around much so maybe she was doing something else, making coffee's or something. I think the fact that she did not want to bring our bill was the worst. With all the good options around I am not sure I will be retuning but it is worth a try to make your opinion.

I ordered the fire roasted Brussels sprouts, the stuffed jalapeños, and deviled eggs for apps. My pizza was next, gluten free of course, and did not disappoint (crumbled sausage and whipped ricotta). We've found two great pizza places here recently and this is one of them! Honestly, really hard to come by good pizza in Delaware. The other menu items were serious bonuses for me since apps are lacking in this state too. Service was great, attentive enough but not over the top. Also, yes, they do offer a military discount. Good music on, quiet for a weekday afternoon which I like.. I'll be back!

The highlights (and lowlights): The service was awful: We arrived at 5:17 and were seated at 5:22. Drinks took 26 minutes to deliver and the order was wrong. My FiL clearly asked for a Pinot Grigio, but a Sangria was delivered. Cody, the server*, politely repeated that he ordered the Sangria, but that did not happen (my FiL drinks only dry wines). We waited to toast my in-laws anniversary, but had to wait another 7-8 minutes for the correct glass of wine to be delivered. There is no attention to detail in the dining room. The staff are on island time. The first appetizer arrived at 6:08--46 minutes after we sat down! At 6:20, I bussed our table. (After dinner, I bussed our table a second time). Even trying to pay the check Cody was MIA. He came by the table perhaps six times from 5:22-6:45. *There seems to be a lot of summer hires here--folks that want to hang out at the beach, but need to work to pay the rent. The training has be to incredibly minimal. I would guess no family meal, no 5-minute daily wine pairing rundown...basically no front of the house training. When the customer has to stack dirty plates and get a busboy's attention to grab them TWICE...not good, especially for the prices at Off the Hook. The food was quite hit or miss. The good: the crab bisque was excellent...really amazing! The scallop appetizer was also delicious with a base of grits and bacon underneath. However... The bad: we wanted to share the scallop appetizer and asked Cody how many scallops came with that. He said "three". The app was delivered with TWO scallops (Yes...TWO scallops for $19). They were not huge scallops...so 16/20 count. Wholesale, $18 a pound, less than a dollar each. To charge $19 for an appetizer with TWO scallops? Wow! The dish cost perhaps $3.25. A bottle of wine that retails for $15 is $30 in a restaurant. I get it, but marking up TWO scallops with some grits to $19 is insane. I asked the manager about the missing scallop. He advised that the entree came with three scallops--the app two. The entree was $39!! $39 for three scallops! If these were U/8 or U/15 scallops, I maybe could see it, but two 16/20 scallops for $19 and three for $39 is nuts. The pappardelle (appetizer portion) was completely flavorless. It was not cooked with any salt and pepper. It tasted like buttered noodles you find on a kid's menu. Adding salt and pepper (at the table) did little to fix it. My wife's pappardelle entree was equally bland. She tried mine; I tried hers. She looked right at me and said "There is no seasoning on this!". My thought exactly. My FiL had the salmon. He reported that it was tasty. While it was cooked well, $35 for an approximately 5 oz portion is again nuts. As a local, I really wanted to enjoy this meal. It was an anniversary dinner for my in-laws. $260 for four people with bad service and hit-or-miss food and the portions described is not good. I'm not a tourist. Lastly, I cannot forget to mention the FLIES. This is an INSIDE, white tablecloth dining establishment with $30-40 entrees, NOT a beachfront bar. 3-4 houseflies, accompanied by a gnat, joined us for dinner. Crazy. Bethany Beach, Delaware has limited options for dining and cars lined up 100 deep on the main road into town. This can be the only explanation for Off the Hook being so busy, so often. Tourists from NYC and Philadelphia don't bat an eye at paying $39 for three scallops. I don't know what other explanation makes sense.
