I still after these past few months have not been able to get over this company and their and employees Elias and Justin who gave me deceptive advice. I called the company to have my master bedroom toilet unclogged. I was going through a very hard time with other difficulties going on and I had to make a decision. I originally asked for them to unclog my toilet. they took a camera and started telling me I have other problems. It cost me over $32,000 and I let them talk into it~when I complained before, but I heard from the workers the plumbing pipes furnace room finishing downstairs while they were correcting the problem that THEY made~ and I told them it was your company that did that job previously. Elias and Justin told me they'd have to do it that night at 9:00 PM or I would get charged again for another call another day, for their mistake! After paying 32,000+ guess what? The very same toilet in the master bedroom that I wanted unclogged, clogged 1 month later ! It's just my husband and myself and it's not like we abuse with to much toilet paper,etc. When I called another company and one of the owners used to work for them many years ago ltold me that he quit because they are deceptive. I'm sorry to have to say this, but it really bothers me that the owner Never even tried to reach out to me. You know why because they're wrong and they Know it. However, this is the second time I've reached out. I just hope that someone like me that may be perhaps vulnerable and have to make a decision on their own. Make sure you think about it before you let them talk you into something you don't need done . BEWARE !!! I know they don't care~ but it would be nice if the owner would reach out to me,they're supposed to be family owned so that makes you think that they're all honest and a decent company. Western quoted me $1100 to replace a cracked piece of ABS. It's less than $20 in parts and glue. And the labor couldn't be easier, very easy access. Another license plumber did it for $250. Exactly the same method that Western quoted me for. Careful which plumber you use. Some will take advantage of you and overcharge you! read more

I requested service for my pilot light being faulty. I'm familiar with how to get pilot lights going, even in very old heaters. They came out the following day and said the pilot unit was faulty and went to get the replacement parts and swapped it all out the same day. So it's like a new heater again. Very professional and polite in suggestions and solutions. Instead of just saying get a new heater to make money. A little high priced for the 30 min labor it took to swap out the parts but the fact that they came on short notice and repaired the same day gave them the thumbs up. 4 out of 5 based on price. 5 out of 5 based on service. 4.5 avg... round up, got 5 stars. read more

We had the water pressure regulator replaced because it wasn't regulating our water pressure properly reading beyond 110 psi. Now fully installed, and pushing through at a calm 65 psi. I have a technically complicated drain clog, involving a dual vanity that connects via a Y - had people snake it previously, used pressure gun, poured acid to sit overnight, etc and nothing worked. Called Western as a hail mary - 2 technicians came and snaked it again to 50ft+, couldn't fix it and the drains are now completely clogged. Due to location, couldn't hydro jet, so I lost all hope. Western immediately dispatched another technician, Jairo, who came 30 min after the previous 2 technicians left. They did not leave me hanging over the weekend! Jairo was patient and explained why galvanized pipes could clog more after snaking, but wanted to snake one more time. To my surprise, he fixed it after trying both sinks!! JAIRO IS THE MAN! He's got magic fingers and can feel the line, absolutely amazing! He even proposed to snake from the roof vent if all fails... this level of responsibility is a rare treasure nowadays. So I had a main service line leak and didn't notice it for a while until a puddle formed in the front yard. Western came out and handled it all while I was at work. They did a great job and respected the city water department which said no one should touch the water on/off valve in the sidewalk. Western was the first emergency plumber to take my call/request/inquiry seriously. Am I happy about having to pay over $900 for an urgent situation? No. But Western handled it and put the yard back in place, soil and artificial grass. It didn't even look like anyone had disturbed it. I know the plumber worked, though, because he texted me photos of the repair while I was at work. Western left my property clean. The sidewalk was also clean. A+ for this orderly job. read more

In fact, this company also helped us install a new water heater and fixed some small things, which were to our satisfaction. Before we retained their services, we had hired two plumbing companies, but neither of them solved our leaking problems. We spent money for nothing. What impresses us more is that Christian, Western Rooter's technician, is a very patient, reliable, and knowledgeable person. Whenever we had questions, he gave us the feedback right away. The other technician Richie is also very helpful. Together with these two technicians, other four plumbers worked very hard, and the jobs were done in three days. Western Rooter always delivers. I used them in the past with great results this time I needed to have a clogged shower looked at. It turns out after Hydrojetting was complete they shot a camera down the pipe and discovered cracked pipes expected for a house this old. A sleeve was recommended and was installed in no time. After a secondary look into the pipe under the house roots and cracks were also discovered and a sleeve was installed as quick as the first one. Pablo was the 1st man on site and was able to determine what needed to be done. Justin showed up and called in the reinforcements and they were able to complete the repairs on what I thought would be a 2 day repair in 8 hrs. Great job done quickly at a fair price! I used Western Rooter back in Jan to fix a leaky shower head, replace a kitchen faucet, and replace a garbage disposal. I waited a bit before writing this review because I wanted to make sure everything was working properly. When I first called Western Rooter, I must say the customer service representative was very friendly. She explained that they don't give estimates over the phone, but they do offer free in‑person estimates with no obligation. A few days later, two technicians--Scott (the main plumber) and Josue (his assistant)--came to my home to do the estimate. They inspected everything and gave me a quote of around $1,200 I think. Since I wasn't sure whether that price was fair, I told them I planned to get another estimate from a different plumbing company. Scott said he would check with the corporate office. He then came back with a revised price of $1,000. When I stated I was a new customer, he gave me an additional new customer discount of $50, so the final price was $950. Scott and Josue completed all the work in about half a day. They were very professional and courteous throughout the process. They took the time to explain what they were doing both before and during the repairs. So far, everything has been working well. read more

We saw that our ceiling was starting to cave in from a leak and reached out to several plumbers on a Saturday. Western Rooter was the first to reach out and we scheduled an appointment for today, 6/2/26. They sent Richie, who was polite, prompt, and professional. He identified the damage quickly, 2 leaks, and fixed both in the same day. I asked him to remove some additional debris from the water damage and help me access a water shut off valve in a wall, and he gladly helped with those too. I've had a leaking shower faucet for years but hesitated to fix it because I couldn't find an honest, reliable plumber. When it finally got bad enough, I called several service providers--most said the valve needed a full replacement, which was far beyond my budget. Rene from Western Rooter came out, listened to my explanation, and inspected the faucet. He said I probably just needed a cartridge replacement unless something unexpected came up. His estimate was fair--about a third of what a full valve replacement would cost. Finding the right parts took a bit longer than expected because a previous handyman had installed a Delta valve with Grohe trim, which was confusing. But Rene didn't just finish the job--he made sure everything was done properly, with care and attention. It felt like he treated my bathroom as if it were his own. EDIT: I need to put my lone gripe upfront- we were initially quoted for an earthquake strap installation, but it was not installed and was not even present as a line item on our final invoice. That was disappointing, and the tech explained that it would have required bolting into our cement foundation. Maybe he did not have the proper equipment to execute that specific job? He was performing the entire install by himself. He said it would be okay, and after searching around the internet it is a requirement by law for new and replacement water heaters to be anchored or strapped to resist falling during earthquakes. So we will have to do this ourselves. Now on to the review. Impressive response time through Yelp's "Projects" tab, even though our water heater issue occurred over the weekend! They came out and assessed all of our water heater issues and let us know that our unit was still under the manufacturer's warranty. It was not purchased from Western Rooter, so we were urged to call and get replacement parts, and then we could call them back to repair our unit for us. This would take well over a week and we would be without hot water. We chose to purchase a unit from Western Rooter, as it would have a 6 year parts warranty and 1 year on workmanship. There were other issues with our (self-installed) water heater, so thought it would be best to move ahead with a replacement. This will be our last natural gas water heater, hopefully, as California law is mandating that sales will be banned after 2030. Our old unit was removed from our basement, and they installed a new water heater, a water heater shut off valve, gas sediment trap, gas shut off valve, new gas flex line, and new water supply lines. read more
