Even the kids got their fill.

Haven't been to a Western Sizzlin in forever so why not stop in on Friday night road trip while the weather is bad and the family needs a break. Very easy to get in and find a booth or a table and they even got my little picky eater to finish off a fried pork chop! Sweet tea was great and the friendly service was welcome so I made sure to leave them a nicer than usual tip being the holiday week and they are working hard while we are on vacation time. Food was plenty and tasted like it wasn't sitting out long at all and the selection was well rounded.

A fun lunch stop on a leisurely country drive…read more Wife had the bbq chicken salad. Ok, but more a fried chicken salad with a little bbq flavor. I did the burger sliders appetizer. Impressed. The beef was clearly ground in house and was a wonderful coarse grind. excellent. With the buns charred on the grill, it made an excellent light lunch without any sides needed. Added bonus for house brewed beer. Found the kolsch a tasty lunch treat. Warmish inside, and hot outside, sadly the views that day were shrouded in haze. Don't know when we'd ever be back in the area, but if we were, I'd not hesitate to suggest a repeat stop.

It did taste like duck and the trio of sauces was a nice touch (ranch, tarragon aioli, bbq sauce). Chicken lettuce cups - refreshing and light. Could have used more hoisin sauce. Ranchado chicken - good sized chicken breast. Couldn't really taste the ranch rather the cheese made it extra cheesy. The bun was smaller than I thought it would be. Beer - the hefe and red ale were refreshing and standard. Service - slow. Our waiter disappeared after getting our appetizer order and didn't come back. Another waiter took over after 20 minutes. It was busy but I've seen much busier places and the wait wasn't 20+ minutes. It's like she didn't bother to tell another person she was going to be gone. She finally came back to bust our table. What was strange she took my gf plate first, left mine. I paid with my card and she handed the bill over to her. She also didn't acknowledge me (note: I'm not Caucasian). It'll likely be the last time I eat here; it was not a welcoming atmosphere.

Top of The Rock - We couldn't decide between the Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie with Ice Cream or the Cheesecake, so we got both.

First and foremost, I want to like Stevarino's I do want to spend money in my chosen hometown, but…read moreit's often difficult. We waited to give Stevarino's a second opportunity. Because the last one did not go well either. Even accounting for the slower life we are pursuing in our retirement community of choice, we don't have one hour and four minutes to wait on a pizza. Or 54 minutes to wait on a simple spaghetti and meatballs. Or seven minutes standing at the front desk with no one coming by to see you at the "please wait to be seated" podium. I'm older now, I don't have that kind of time to waste. The food was "OK". The spaghetti and meatballs (substituted sausage, maybe this required a trip to Italy") was lukewarm. It tasted OK. My pizza was basically loose and drippy in the center. Not from cheese, from being poorly cooked. Again, there was nothing special about the taste. Lastly, I had to send the first pizza serving tray back to be cleaned. I don't know if it's too little staff, too little caring, too little organization, too little training. It all adds up to a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. It is a very nice place when it comes to decor and such. Even a nice big lighted Christmas display for folks to use as a photo backdrop. Hopefully the ownership will take this review to heart and not blame it on "being too busy" (that sure wasn't the case" or "fussy clientele". It sure wasn't that either.

We were in the area and a number of people recommended Stevarinos so we gave it a try, there is a…read moredecidedly Irish-Italian flare to the restaurant, but it works. The service was excellent, so let's start there. The interior is part of an older building that has been partially renovated. Clean and all the tables get covered with butcher paper and, when combined with crayons, offers fun for everyone. Finally we get to why people go to restaurants / the food. We started with the Calamari, which was perfectly fried, not greasy at all, and served with a tasty marinara, but we would prefer lemon. The white pizza was excellent also, we added some Italian sausage and that put the final touch on the pizza. The Greek salad was fair, but it didn't really roll our socks down, and the spaghetti with meatballs also fell a little short for us - the sauce had great tomato flavour, but it lacked the herbiness (we'd even have been ok with some spicy heat) that you'd expect from a good sauce. They have daily specials that could appeal to some, and they have a rather eclectic menu, right down to fish and chips. We don't go through S. Pittsburgh very often, but we might be back. They also have a location in Chattanooga.
