Had reservations for 12/3. Just got cancelled. The reason given was due to it being the night of a concert at the venue next door and they're expecting a big crowd. Duh guys, why else would anyone go to this area unless they're also going to an event in Westgate (and from out of town) so set reservations close for convenience. Also was explained that it came from the top corporate level. Way to cancel reservations two days before the day thus leaving me completely out of options. This concert has been scheduled for over a year. Management ineptitude just noticing now. Don't want to take reservations? Fine. Take reservations then cancel them all two days before the event? Bad business. Won't get a dollar from me, ever. No wonder most of the Bar Louies have closed nation wide. read more

I'm very upset at how management runs this place.. came here on a Tuesday night around 10pm and a server walked up to our table and didn't even greeted us and just asked "are you guys all 21 and above?" How rude.... the tone and his face gestures was not nice at all. If they didn't want to serve us then just say so... Luckily I am over the age so they can't refused to serve us. I wanted to give this place at least a decent review since the food is amazing, but the service is so bad. First off you don't ask someone their age! You ask for their identification cards, you know that thing the MVD issue to people. Second, it's a Tuesday night around 10:30 so it wasn't that busy.... the server came, got our order, and then disappeared.. they were so busy talking to each others and playing with their phone... I really wanted to love this place. It has a very cool vibe and a great looking menu. We were greeted by a very friendly host who showed us to seats at the bar. Once we sat down, we were ignored by every bartender. No nod of recognition or even letting us know they would be by shortly. Eventually we were able to order drinks and then it was another 25 minutes to order food. When the food did eventually come out, mine was cold and my husband 's was not what he ordered. At this point we were starving so sending it back was not an option. I think Bar Louie has the potential to be amazing but they are definitely falling short in the customer service department. Came here for a refreshing drink after strolling Comicon over at Gila River Arena. Ordered a Festivus Sangria, which I was happy to find out does NOT have citrus in it, since citrus allergies permit me from having regular Sangrias, Mimosas, or anything else made with oranges, lemons, limes, or grapefruits. The Festivus Sangria was a Christmas holiday drink that Bar Louie has carried over & I'm happy they did. It was SO tasty! My friend & I each had one. The drink features Old Apple Orchard, Argutura (sp?) Bitters, Cinnamon, cherries, etc. I can't remember all the ingredients but do remember how delicious it was & I'd totally order it again! Another friend met us there & we all enjoyed a drink, the ambience, the atmosphere of the place, & how relaxing it was. Our bartender was awesome & checked on us a lot. The ONLY drawback was the customer a couple stools over ordered something so strong & full of citrus, as I mentioned before that I'm allergic to, & loaded with strawberries, which my friend is allergic to. The bartender made the drink then & there & that was our cur it was time to head out, being us ladies were having allergic reactions. The jelly was amazingly DELICIOUS! Just enough sweet to offset the bacon. Great quality and quantity. On a early Saturday night before a concert so we were in a time crunch, which we told our server but it sure seemed like it took a long time to come out, which I thought was odd since it was only about 1/3 full. Started coming here a couple years ago! Fell in love with their signature martini's and specials. Service is ALWAYS incredible!!! I don't think I want to come back after our experience. The servers were all very friendly but for the amount of tables to servers, the speed of service was meh and we felt very forgotten. The Southern Macs description was on point and when it came out it looked amazing but there was NO flavor and no cheese sauce so it was a no go for me. My husbands bourbon bbq burger was good but the patty was way overdone. Everything that came out was room temp and it took forever to get our food. I also requested for an order of French fries for my child to come out before everything and they completely forgot the fries altogether. They did bring us 2 orders to make up for the fact they forgot but it was quite the afterthought considering it was for a child and I wanted it to come out first so she could eat. What a complete disappointment!! During the current pandemic we are trying to support the businesses around us as much as possible- we order from different places once a week for dinner- figures we try Bar Louie again in Westgate since it is in our area and The previous time we were there it was the service that was super bad- We were hoping the food would be good this time- no such luck! We ordered the chicken nachos, the Hot Honey chicken sandwich with loaded tots and the Louies Choice Cheeseburger with fries The nachos were inedible- literally looked like it was road kill and smelled liked it might have been sitting out all day. The burger was cold, no cheese, no flavor and the fries were so salty they too were inedible. The hot honey chicken sandwich- the chicken itself was tasty and the pickles- I don't eat bread- good thing because the buttered brioche it was on was burnt to a crisp. The loaded tots- were not tots- they were fries and there was 10 fries total was with 4 jalapeños and crusty cheese on top in an oversized to go container. Disappointing! read more

Unbelievably slow and inconsiderate servers. Took over 20 minutes to get our first order of drinks and over an hour and no food. Our server Jessica didn't check on us, because she stated she had other tables. When we finally complained about our food , they stated they accidentally gave one of our plates away. Multiple times a food runner wandered lost with food and drinks. I had to go hunt down silverware and asked for extra dressing but never got it. I've never been here until last night for a quick dinner date. I didn't really have super high expectations, I just wanted to try a different place to eat. The menu has a great selection of offerings from your typical small plate bar food to entrees. I chose the dumplings and shrimp tacos from the small plate section while my date, ordered a burger and some wings. For drinks, I had an Arnold Palmer and he had a Sprite. We put in our orders quickly as we were pressed for time and they didn't disappoint. My tacos were dressed beautifully with just the right amount of cotija. The tomatillo salsa was just right. It had the right amount of char, tartness, heat and flavor. The shrimp were perfectly tender, they were seasoned well and the addition of a light squeeze of lime, I was happy. The tortillas were tasty, they had the right bite, and were perfect for those tacos. Overall, 10/10 would definitely order again. The garnish on the dumplings was green onion. While I love green onion, it wasn't sliced in a way that would balance the flavor of the dumpling. They weren't shaved either. They were in 2 inch strips. Not the greatest. The soy ginger sauce wasn't the worst but it wasn't the greatest. The flavors weren't balanced there either. A little too much ginger and oils, not enough soy. The tomatillo from the tacos wasn't a bad dipping sauce. The dumpling skin was nice and crispy, the meat filling was tender, moist and not bad at all but, it could've used more pepper, garlic and ginger. It was probably made outside and shipped and that's ok. Overall 9/10. Now, for he last thing on my list...my Arnold Palmer. This has been my go to beverage of choice on and off for 6 years. It's a simple concoction really...1/2 lemonade and 1/2 iced tea. I get the drink and it looks about right. I start to mix it and took a sip and it was awfully bland. Could taste a little lemonade...some sips were unsweet iced tea. Again....the balance. Balance is important in the kitchen when cooking or baking. I'll definitely come back soon. I only give them 1 stars because I had to. Only plus was that they honored a ready for 8 that was made day of. Had I not been a total planner and paranoid we would not be able to find somewhere to eat at 6 pm with a show at 730 at the arena I would have preferred the other dozen of options. Server seemed pretty careless about the fact that they were out of 2 if the 8 meals we tried ordering. (Chicken wings and chicken parm) when asked what else they were out of server said "I don't know, Just order what you want and we will see if we have it" Pretty crappy reply if you ask me. I ordered a Tito's and soda half way thru my meal and we find out hey are out of Tito's too. All but 1 person in our party got served their meals but she had to wait 10 mins for her meal to come out. The rest of our party was essentially done by the time her chicken tacos made it to the table. I ordered the Buffalo chicken flatbread (marked a bar Louie fav) and it was awful! Dough was undercooked and chicken was really dry. When you first walk in it smells like a dirty dish rag used over and over again. It's a pretty Terrible establishment. read more

The drinks were really really good I ordered the hot sweet chicken that was the most disgusting thing It's honestly two pieces of bread a really chewy rubbery piece of fried chicken and seven pickles I barely taste the sauce tater tots I got with it or so cold. Sandwiches are not good to say they're cold and give back because I don't like eating spit we all know what happens. The fries originally came stale but this amazing Server named Nick asked the kitchen to replace those and under cooked wings for us. I was so appreciative of him for going above and beyond after also dealing with an altercation right before. The host and busser seemed out of sync on what tables were ready. The drinks took maybe 15 minutes to come out once ordered and the food (two burgers) took maybe 45 minutes. Not sure if they were short staffed or what, but being that close to Gila I would have thought they'd be more on top of hockey-related rushes. The food itself was fine. We have visited this location several times, twice in the previous 2 weeks. The service this past Saturday with "Clara" was very good, even though it was a busy day at Westgate due to a Rattler's Playoff game at the Arena. (The service the previous visit was just ok, as our waiter disappeared for a while, even though we had indicated we were ready to order and that we wanted to eat before the game). Each time we were seated promptly and were welcomed by our servers, who were prompt with the drink orders. The food is actually very well prepared and exceeded my expectations. Even though the name of the business might cause one to think that it is a bar that happens to sell food, from my perspective it is actually a good restaurant that also has a bar. I realize that comment may sound confusing, but what I'm saying is it's not just "bar food". The alcoholic drinks are a little on the pricy side, and the mixed drinks that I ordered appeared to be a little light on the alcohol - especially for the price. The flavor was ok, they just were a little lacking on the alcoholic content, from my perspective. The *hit and miss" service and the price and quality of the drinks knocks my review down from what otherwise would be 5 stars. But all things considered, Bar Louie is definitely a solid option for dining at Westgate. We will certainly be back! read more

Sunday Funday began here! I have been here during a few late nights for a cocktail or two with friends. A neighboring brunch spot had an extended wait list so my husband and I chose to start our day here for some mimosas. As advertised they are 'bottomless' however they only allow 5 per guest. We decided on chilaquiles and baked French toast. Both delicious and just the right amount to share between two people. We arrived fairly early and were seated right away. They were only staffed with 3 employees in the front of the house. Within the hour business picked up, and I thought their wait staff continued to do a great job with tending to all their tables and making sure our drinks were always filled! I only gave this location 4 stars because of the temperature inside of the restaurant, it was very warm. They had 3 large fans inside that took awhile to circulate around the entire restaurant. read more
