Westhaven employees are fantastic. what I have a problem with is that they do not stand behind the products they are selling us. I have had my solar inverter changed 3 times in the 3.2 years I have had solar. very disappointed in the product they sell and then I have to pay a $200 service fee for them to fix the products they sold and are supposed to be under warranty. I was told to go after the inverter manufacturer for a refund. I told them that is their job but they won't do it. plus I was without solar for 1.5 months before they could get out and replace the terrible equipment they sold me. BE CAREFUL read more

A Westhaven sales rep came by my home last weekend and left some information. I provided my contact number because my wife and I were genuinely curios about solar options in my area. After some consideration, my wife and I decided to focus on other competing priorities in our new home. I received a call today from a Westhaven rep. I told him my wife and I were not ready to consider solar at this time. He continued with repetitive and aggressive questions. Then after repeating what told him earlier, he rudely hung up on me. If this is the way their company believes they'll earn someone's business, they're in for a rude awakening. I have been waiting to write this review until I was SURE I would not need Westhaven to do anything for my solar and generator install. I think it's been long enough and so here we go. I had them install solar panels - a fairly large system. This install was late and riddled with issues - issues like monitoring not being set up properly, lack of paint where paint is supposed to be, completely mismatched paint...all problems I had to point out. Then, despite all this, I trusted Westhaven one more time, this time to install a backup generator. I figured as bad as they were for the solar panel install, at least they know my property, they know their install of solar...so they should be best suited to add the generator. No. In fact, it got worse. The generator install was late. They missed their promises on schedule. They missed their promises on things I was very explicit about - like do NOT turn off my solar to activate the generator until you have EVERYTHING you need to activate the generator. I didn't want to disconnect solar and then have it off for an extended amount of time while they wait for a part for the generator install. They messed this up and I was without power from my panels for days. Then, worse yet still, the last straw with this company...their generator install disconnected the solar from the grid (and thus my credit from selling to PGE) for over three months until I noticed something strange happening and contacted PGE. Ironically, it was an employee from SunPower (panels for my home) who told me how to verify this - and in fact verified it for me as well. Despite everything, I would have been OK if Westhaven simply gave me $ to offset the loss of $ I experienced during these three months. But, they would not even do that, never admitting to fault. Every step of every part of this journey has been messed up, unapologetically, by Westhaven. There is something thoroughly wrong with this company. I have kept all of the email communications on this matter and am happy to share if Westhaven disputes any of this. I should not have to write a review like this. read more

DO NOT BUY SOLAR FROM WESTHAVEN i purchased a system in 2016, i was told it would produce 10,136kw annually. the first year it produced 9,566kw, and was told it rained to much that year. in 2018 it produced 9,395kw, i was told that a tree must be shadowing the system. they have done nothing to try and solve the issue, haven't even been out to look at it. i started having talks with Westhaven in June of 2017, and August of 2017 about low production. after talking with 5 different employees of Westhaven the last two years. i was emailed on March 13th, and was told. Not very happy. We wanted the same installation here as our previous home but much larger. It had Sun Power panels and each panel had it's own inverter. That system is working great after three years. Here we have Solar Edge panels and a single Inverter. It goes out the whole system would go out. Since day 2 some panels have not performed. After coming out for the first panel and "optimizing it, another week went by and that panel was replaced, but by then 3 more panels were showing substandard performance. Another 2 visits to "Optimize" the panels with the same zero results. After 2 weeks more of waiting, I'm informed that Westhaven is in discussion with Solar Edge on what to do with these 3 panels. In total there have been 3 visits to our tile roof since the installation. Hopefully they have not cracked any tiles with all the scampering around the roof. Also since we are not producing the amount of electricity that we were expecting, our PG&E bill is higher that estimated. I question their ability to demand replacement panels from their supplier for bad panels. I question Solar Edge's quality control on what the send out for installation. Westhaven will have to step up their game to win back the confidence I had from our prior installation. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I'd like to give ZERO stars. I purchased my SunPower system from Westhaven less than two years ago and it has already degraded significantly. In fact, the system has been down since MAY (It's now October...so essentially we lost the entire summer. Of course, T first they lied and told me that it was just the monitoring system that was down). I've just now been informed that it will take 4-6 weeks to get the parts to fix it. Our sales person (Ian Finger) told us that SunPower would monitor the system and watch for degradation and that was a complete lie. They promised a bird deterrent system and it was improperly installed. When I called to request someone come to fix it, they gave me the run around until it finally wasn't worth it anymore. I have been calling and emailing and it's all a big system of "avoid and deflect". These systems are expensive and it seems to me, not worth the money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Great service from beginning to end. Adam Dockrey was our sales rep. He is very respectful, friendly and polite. These were all things we noted from the initial consultation. He is also very knowledgeable and honest when it comes to discussing solar panel systems and their product. The timeline that was given to us for system installation was met. There were times when I wasn't being diligent on my end about getting back them back signed paper work to them. In a particular instance it was for our HOA, but they gave me friendly reminders to make sure I got it done so the overall deadline could be met. On another instance I spoke with the project manager about something and had nothing but a good experience there as well. There also were a few times when I had to reach out to Adam for a promotion that was offered at the time we opted in for solar, each time I shot him a text, he responded and promptly at that.
