Great breakfast! We love going here on the weekends. Our favorites are the breakfast burrito, and the country fried steak. So yummy!

We love Westlake! Every time we come in one of the waitresses Jean makes it a point to say hi to our baby girl. Today we went in for her first birthday and sat in Jeans section. When she found out it was our daughters birthday she brought out a Mickey Mouse pancake with a candle in it. It absolutely warmed our hearts and started a new tradition for us! Best breakfast place in Denver! We've never had anything we didn't like, I love the omelettes here. Lunch menu is good, the patty melt is a favorite of ours. GREAT place for breakfast - some of the best biscuits I've ever tasted. Great service and family atmosphere. Normally a wait on Sat and Sun mornings, but it moves quickly and is worth the wait. Expect large portions (I've suggested that they offer half portions :) and really great prices. Highly recommend for breakfast! read more

Just had Sunday breakfast. The place was loaded w/20 minute wait. Well worth it. Very good food,prepared exactly as each of us ordered and service was very attendant and speedy. I had 2eggs,sausagepatties2,hash browns,and 2fluffybusiquits. W/coffee and ice water less than &7.50. These reviews complaining about high prices are confused w/somewhere else. Just a great place to eat breakfast in Denver. Period. Westlake is only open from 6am to 2pm. So basically it's breakfast and lunch but they know how to do it right. I ordered the corn beef hash, eggs and grits with a side of toast. $7 bucks. Yep! Lots of locals in here. Friendly service and interesting people. I like it! read more

This is some of the best Diner Breakfast food in the West Lake area. It ain't fancy, but it doesn't have to be. The service is staff is super attentive, and the portions are generous. We Love the food but have a problem. One waitress is too loud! I know she means well, but she is totally too loud when waiting on us and others around us. She broadcasts our order to the entire restaurant and addresses us as "you guys." She can be heard coming from the opposite side of the restaurant. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I like a more discreet waitress like the other waitresses working there. read more

Good breakfast joint. Quick, friendly service and large portions. Anywhere between $4-$8 a meal depending on what you get. There was a short wait on a Saturday morning, but we didn't have to wait more than a minute to be seated. Hot cakes are delicious! I think they close at 2pm, so they're only open for breakfast and lunch (but breakfast is served all day while they are open). read more

The breakfast menu is to die for! The portions are HUGE (and cheap) and the staff are incredibly friendly and good at what they do! The place isn't very big so there is usually a wait (especially on Sundays) but it worth every minute. Definitely worth checking out! read more

This is my and the wife's go-to place for breakfast in Denver (which isn't saying much given the quality of restaurants in the area). Decent food and very reasonable prices. If I just don't feel like cooking breakfast I will go there and order a couple of eggs and bacon or sausage - usually get hash browns but they struggle with them. Take them as they come and the are not crispy enough for me. Order them crispy and they come out hard and dry. Wanted to like their biscuits and gravy, but I don't. If we give our 13 year old the option of coming to breakfast she stays home because she doesn't like their pancakes. (only likes mine) Sticking with an omelet or eggs and breakfast meat is fine. read more

This place is a must-do. You don't find places like this anymore--and that's too bad. Places like this are the best part about living in smaller towns. Westlake rocks from 6am to 2pm, breakfast and lunch only. It has to have the most extensive breakfast menu in the history of NC; it's unbelievable. AND you can get out of there with more good, basic homemade food than you could possibly eat for under $10, which has to be classified as a miracle these days. But the real charm here is the staff; they're incredible, and they clearly like working there--kudos to the owners! It's great to see all kinds of people enjoying themselves; it's a super melting pot for 'grew-up-here' and newcomers alike. Makes me smile every time we go. My DAILY breakfast restaurant... Since 1997, I have gone to Westlake for coffee and breakfast nearly 7 days a week. I arrive before or soon after it officially opens at 6 am, sit at my regular table (now booth, but more on that later), and drink several pots (yes, pots) of coffee (S&D brand, so you can't beat the taste) while reading the local and national newspapers. I've survived at least three changes of ownership. George and son, Gus, just remodeled and it looks great. (To the reviewer who disliked its appearance back in April, take note.) New carpet, top of the line booths and chairs, new décor (same prints on the walls), etc. No more can locals complain of an odor or overwhelming plumes of cigarette smoke billowing across the restaurant from days long gone... Though Greek-owned and inspired, the fare is mostly American. You'll never go wrong with breakfast, and lunch offers a variety of items and daily specials. I've recently fallen in love with their hot dogs, but I hear that they make a great rack of ribs. The wait staff is always friendly and interactive, but I must admit a crush on Shannon for taking care of me for so many years. If you decide to give Westlake a try at breakfast, don't steal my booth (ask a waitress where "Ross" sits, before you sit down), but do introduce yourself to me and let me know if my review helped.
