It's been years since I've had Wetzel's. I used to work at a mall, many years ago, so I'd have it more often than I'd like to admit. But now in adulthood, I don't frequent the mall or its stands. However I had to return something and this was on my way out so I decided to give it a try and see if it tasted as good as I used to think it did. I won't say that I regret my decision, but I absolutely won't be buying this again, simply for the price and nutritional value. The price is outrageous for what you get. I got two dogs and a pack of cinnamon bits and it was $26. I should have gone to chipotle instead! Service was fine, the food was fine but there are just truly better options in general for me personally. My bad, not theirs. read more

I had it twice so it was hard to say that I really like it or not because the first time it was hard and not that delicious. The second time was warmer and the pretzel was softer. I've only tried one thing here and that was because I walked by and saw a sign for S'mores Bitz, and it looked pretty tempting, so I had to try it. It was $8.49 for the pretzels, and it was a pretty large amount, meant for sharing, because I sure couldn't finish it all myself in one sitting. It was the pretzel Bitz covered in chocolate sauce and mini marshmallows, and it was pretty tasty. I would've enjoyed it more if it was marshmallow cream instead of actual marshmallows, and it's be nice if they offered a smaller portion. read more

The aroma of freshly made bread, and in this case pretzels, is so comforting and will draw you up to the counter of Wetzel's Pretzels. While many love their pretzels bathed in butter then garlic or cinnamon or the flavor du jour, I'm a purist. I don't want all of that butter or sugar on my pretzel! So I ask for a "naked" pretzel with just a touch of salt, allowing the sweet pretzel dough to be the star. Try it, you may become a convert! Their dough has way more sugar than a NYC street pretzel, which are the pretzels that I grew up eating, and that's probably why I don't buy the flavored ones. And the cheese sauce, is it cheese? NOOOOOO STALEE CRUSTY PRETZELES. The pretzel bites aren't bad but they also aren't good. And the jalapeño pretzel I got was STALE and the jalapeños on it were starting to decompose. So vile. Should be illegal. And it so expensive for no reason. But the staff are cool, so they get two stars. read more

As I sit here at a table eating my pepperoni pretzel (very tasty) I look on to see a woman and her midsized dog at the counter. The dog jumps up and puts its paws on the counter. Instead of telling the woman to pull her dog back, the employee coos at the dog. Eh, okay. It happens again. No "ma'am, please don't let your dog put its paws on the counter" or anything. This happens probably 3 or 4 times. My friend and I stared in disbelief. Not only did both employees allow it, but after the women left, THEY DIDNT WIPE DOWN THE COUNTERS IMMEDIATELY. So grossed out. There have been several customers that have come up and ordered since, and I'm finally leaving, questioning my last few bites of pretzel and wondering what I didn't see before I walked up. Giving this place a 5 star review because the food was yummy and service was fast and friendly. I got an original pretzel with cheddar cheese dip. The pretzel was more greasy than I'd like it to be, but what else can you expect from a mall fast food vendor. I was handed napkins with my food which was appreciated since I used them all due to the greasiness. There was a good amount of cheese for my pretzel and was about a dollar extra - so worth it because the cheese is the best part of any pretzel, am I right? There are a few tables in the mall directly in front of the store where you can sit and eat if desired. read more

However, when I got a whiff of the tempting fragrance of fresh baked pretzels at Wetzel's while shopping at Washington Square, I had to step up to their counter and at least LOOK at what they had. When I saw the Cheese Pretzel with all that browned, crusty melted cheese on it, I knew it was going to be mine. And, yes, it was terrific! Friendly service too! read more

I love this place - food is good but the service is also excellent. The nicest man named Pedro usually serves me; he often appears to be working alone and has to run around and make the food while serving customers at the register. I know this sounds like a but much, but I honestly feel Pedro really does a great job and he always makes my experience there better. I always make sure to tip extra when is there. Side note: highly recommend the sour cream and onion wetzel bits!! read more

My 11 year old daughter and her friend went there today. They asked for wetzle bites and were told by the black guy that they were out. My daughter pointed at them and said "what are those?" He said "oh" and started to get them. They asked for cinnamon on one, he ROLLED HIS EYES AT THEM and said "oh my god!" before proceeding to put so much cinnamon and salt on them that they were completely inedible. Then to top off this FABULOUS customer service, he said "okay, bye!" without giving them their change. When thwy asked for it, he ARGUED with them and made them show him the receipt before giving them the $12 due to them. These peole need to be fired, I've never seen such horrible service in my life. People there never smile, never enthusiastic at all. I went back because I got a pretzel that wasn't cooked and really doughy, I asked if I could get one that was cooked and the guy there didn't even seem like he was paying attention to me and just asked, "you wanna nother one?" Only for him to give me yet another uncooked pretzel, I practically barfed it was so gross.
