Yelpers - what the Hell? Tap the brakes. This is not a 4-5 star place! It's becoming difficult to trust reviews anymore when you guys try to skew the ratings. Let me set it straight. Chicken is overcooked! Both the wings and tenders - I think in old oil. Onion rings are the industrial kind you can get anywhere (little flavor), no soda drinks (only bottles). Any of your run of the mill chicken fast foods can beat the hell all of this - KFC, Popeye's, etc. I actually had to stop on the way home to pick-up some chicken to take home! People are friendly - service good. Throw in some good food and we might have a parade. As it is - I don't believe this place will make it. Chicken is well-flavored and cooked right, better than most of the fried chicken chains! People were very nice and provided good service. Cleanliness is obviously a huge priority for the owners and it shows. Restaurant smells nice ... an odd comment I know, but fried chicken places usually smell horrible :) Food was slow in coming out of the kitchen, which could be improved. But it's hard to argue with steaming hot food delivered to your table! Clearly this is a locally owned restaurant and I'm really rooting for them. If they can improve the speed, add more tables to the restaurant, and stay consistent, they'll be a local favorite in no time! read more

The fried chicken is So Good ! We loved everything about our experience at What's Cluckin . I had the fried chicken livers and 3 wing plate with hush puppies . My wife and kids had the tenders with okra and fries . Everything was cooked to perfection and came out hot and fresh in less than 20 minutes . We can't wait to go back ! read more

The chicken was so good, I got the Nashville hot and it was actually kind of spicy and I like spice but overall it was great. My friend and I are both 6'3 and eat a lot of food and the portion was so large that we both ended up taking like half of our food home. I would definitely recommend this spot read more

Saw the good reviews and decided to try this place out. Wait was about 20 mins for the food though about half way through they cook came out to say they were out of fried okra and I had to order something else :/ not a good sign. Food comes out piping hot but... it was ok. I got a 3 piece tender and a 2 piece dark meat combo. The tenders were spiced and salted but I would say they require a sauce like ranch to help keep the saltiness down when you get to the end. Fried chicken was better but nothing I haven't had before at good chain. TLDR; not bad but not outstanding. read more

Update. - Went back yesterday guy took my order was nice. Went back in to pick up order another guy who was sweeping the floor came behind the counter to get my food. My suggestion would be anytime u r going from cleaning to handling food or dealing with customers please wash your hands he was really nice but he needs to make sure everything is being handled sanitary . She even stated." Where she was from and who she was affiliated with. " I had just spent $20, was about to buy my Sister and Niece and order as well! This lady was mean and very condescending! I'm giving this place 5 stars simply because it's a black owned business (YUP) Next because the chicken was fresh, hot, crispy and had great flavor. The place had a cool vibe and was clean. I had their 1 piece of catfish with 2 wings. Catfish was good, a little on the salty side which could have been just a piece that the chef was heavy handed on. Only thing I didn't like were the prices. Charging an extra almost $2.50 for plain shoestring fries is a bit much. Fries are cheap and should come with the meals. But, they do have daily specials so I guess I can't complain too much. I'll be back to support for sure. read more

I love fried gizzards! Very difficult to find in North Dallas. When I was in Chicago, I'd go to Harold's or Brown's Chicken for my fix. Once I saw this place, I had to give it a try. Delicious gizzards, not too hard and seasoned well. Like the aforementioned places, food is made fresh, so be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes. It's worth it for piping hot food. There's nothing impressive about the food here. I ordered the "whole wing" 5 piece with "Chicago mild" sauce on the side and hush puppies as a side. I'm happy I ordered the sauce on the side b/c Chicago mild sauce is basically ketchup! Seasoned with some other spice(s). It was more ketchup than anything else. Very unappetizing. The fried chicken itself is solid, nothing good or bad to say. I didn't care for the hush puppies. Lacking flavor. The chicken also came with two slices of white bread, it's just bread. Came for a late lunch and ordered the 5 wings and fries for $5.99. This was probably the cheapest and yet fulfilling meal I've had yet. The wings were cooked fresh and were crispy. They let me try their dry rub and had it on the side which had a nice flavor to it and I might get that cooked with the chicken next time. They also have their own Chicago mild sauce if I'm remembering the name correctly, but wasn't my favorite. My first and certainly not my last visit. When I first got there, I couldn't decide what I wanted. Choices of chicken and catfish or a combo of both. I really showed up wanting wings. I chose a dozen lemon pepper wings which included fries. I got my order to go and when I got home I was more than happy. The size of the wings were much bigger than you'll see and wingstop or the other chains and in addition, they were still nice and hot The fries were ok, not nice and crispy by the time I got home. The seasoning on the wings were perfect. Again, I can normally devour a dozen wings but these were nice and large and filling. I highly recommend. I've been here 3 times now and each time was yummy. Very crispy chicken and nice fries. The staff has always been friendly. They'll tell me about a 10-15 minute wait with the order, but it's usually done pretty quickly. I don't think ever had to wait the whole 15minutes. read more
