Absolutely fantastic lobster roll, packed with flavor! Bread was well toasted. Service was incredible and very fast. The restaurant is just off the highway and easy to access.

We stopped in because we were in the mood for some fish tacos. There are some parking spots out front. There was a super friendly young guy who worked here, I wish I got his name, but he was sweet and really provided great customer service and cared about ensuring our meal was good. We ordered a ceviche and an order of fish tacos. Both came with some tortilla chips. The ceviche was the best thing we got for sure, really thick pieces of fresh fish, freshly cut onion, some crunchy texture from the peruvian corn. All in all, delicious. The tacos were pretty good too and we enjoyed dipping them in the sauce leftover from the ceviche.

Stopped by this place based on the reviews. And it did not disappoint! Six of us each tried different rolls and devoured them. Only problem was it was extremely hot outside and there's no indoor dining. My suggestion would be to add some fans. The gentleman behind the service counter was friendly and informative. Keep up the good work, Guys.

This was by far the best ceviche I have ever had outside of PERU! Great team and extremely helpful when it comes to making decisions for those second guessing options. I recommend the Shrimp roll, but next time I go I definitely want to try the lobster roll.

Did someone say yummo ?! That food was what the clutch I was so hungry and we went kayaking before this at the place right next to it. The guy with the cowboy hat at the counter was quite friendly and the food was delish. We both got the fresh catch of the day fish rolls and they were awesome. The shrimp roll looked good as well side note. Overall great dining experience, sea breeze was hitting and the tables were nice.

Whenever I travel, I'm always looking to Yelp to find these tucked away hidden gem places. This was a great little spot, nothing fancy for sure but very comfortable setting on a sort of water canal ( so water and boats to look at). Extremely friendly owner turning out some really good food. We had a crab cake roll that was very good... and a Main lobster roll. The roll was right on point, a New England style roll that was perfect. I was reluctant to get Main Lobster while in the Keys, but I had already had Florida Lobster several times on this trip ... so I did it. I'm from FL so I'm just gonna say this .... Main lobster may be better

This restaurant was quaint outside dining right on the marina. The best lobster roll I have ever had $33. Fish tacos were amazing. Highly recommend this place. The owner was very informative. Great service.

You don't want to leave the keys without checking this place out. If you're a first timer; Alex walks you through the menu like a breeze. Tells you what's what and what's the catch of the day. After ordering, Alex walks the dishes over. I had the Market fish entree and my boyfriend had the LobsterRoll, we shared the "Ceviche Del Mar". And we both agreed this was one of the best meals in FL. I'm VERY picky about Ceviche and this was so fresh and delicious. The ceviche alone could've been a meal. The market fish entree was cooked in olive oil and salt; appropriately seasoned for a fresh catch. And my boyfriend was just speechless on his lobster. He was in lobster bliss. These place is like a little shake shack, sitting inside a strip mall/dock area. I definitely recommend coming here before leaving FL.

This was by far the best meal we had in the Florida Keys. Most of the other restaurants we tried were unfortunately underwhelming--the food just didn't live up to the hype on social media or influencer reviews. I'm so glad we found this spot, thanks to its glowing Yelp reviews and convenient location right next to Paddle! Florida Keys, where we did a mangrove eco tour. We ordered the lobster roll, ceviche, and a side of fried calamari: Lobster Roll (M.P. $30 on the day we visited) Served on warm, buttery bread and packed with juicy, flavorful lobster meat. Way better than the ones in Key West, which used small, dry, broken pieces ( and claimed to be one of the top of the world's lobster roll) Ceviche ($17) Made with the fresh catch of the day. Zesty and incredibly fresh. Fried Calamari, Small Side ($8) Crispy, tender, and clearly just made. They also offer a nice selection of craft beers and sparkling drinks, including prosecco. The food came out quickly and everything tasted freshly prepared. We loved sitting on the deck by the ocean, with boats nearby and tarpons swimming right beneath us.

Service was great (he even set expectations on the wait which was not long!) and gave good recommendations. We split a fish sandwich and the ceviche. We're light eaters, so this may not work for everyone! We sat outside on the water, drank a cold beer and enjoyed lunch.

Everything was so delicious. The spice levels were amazing and the service was great. The prices were a bit high compared to the portion sizes but hey, in this economy... The restaurant was clean and the outside seating was chill. Overall, I loved this place!

On our way up from Marathon, we were in the car discussing how unimpressed we were with food down in the Florida Keys, particularly the fish. We were looking for 2 things: freshness & flavor... And "wala" as the owner, Alex, commonly says, that's exactly what we found last minute driving up back home at What The Fish. This place is a true hidden gem as many describe in the reviews. The owner is a masterpiece of a host, he greets you upon entering with a grand introduction of his menu in which he explains so proudly! The view of the small marina behind his shop is perfect, beautiful homes and boats strolling by to look at while you eat. The food = outstanding. We got the Casa Mar rolls and they were incredibly tasteful. Make the stop to visit and support this local small business, you will not be disappointed. We are only sad we didn't find this place sooner, especially with the old prices...

I stopped here on my drive from Miami to Key West due to their great Yelp reviews. I got the crab cole roll which came with chips. It was good in flavor but the crab cake wasn't how I like it. I prefer lump crab but this was more shredded. Normally when it's like that it tastes too fishy for my liking. This wasn't too fishy, it was good. But just not what I was hoping for. Heading down to Key West, we decided to stop here for lunch. It's a quaint little spot on the side of highway 1. We had the lobster roll, a catch of the day fish roll and fish tacos. Pros: flavors and texture of both the lobster roll and the fish roll, friendly service, cozy patio area. Cons: $23.95 lobster roll price plus the small portion of crab meat that you get for $23.95. After being in Key West for a couple of days, I haven't been to any other spots that serve lobster rolls for more than $20. And mind you, the lobster meat portions that I've had so far in Key West have had at least 50% more meat in them than this spot. Once they find a way to get their lobster rolls at or under $20 and give you more bang for your buck, it'll truly be 5 stars. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out... it did not disappoint! The lobster roll was DELICIOUS. It was flavorful, but not overwhelming. I picked up butter, old bay, lemon... The lobster was perfectly cooked. The roll was buttery and oh so good! Fish tacos were pretty amazing too. A yummy pico de Gallo slaw. Fish tasted fresh. Lobster tail was perfectly cooked. It was a bit on the small side, but it's ok. Staff was great. They let my daughter see the lobster before it "was slayed." The Key lime pie on the stick was good too. I prefer my pie more tart, but it was good. read more

What a treat! This was our favorite lunch spot in the keys. The fish doesn't get much fresher. We had the fish sandwich and also the crab cake sandwich. The former is a very fresh filet on a delicious soft bread. The crab cake sandwich has more of a curry flavor to it; different but delicious! You can enjoy while watching the dock and pelicans lounging on the boats. If I'm ever in the area again, this restaurant will be a priority! read more

Oh man...I was super skeptical of an almost solid 5 star review restaurant....but...yum! I got the crab cake roll and conch fritters (based in yelp reviews). The crab roll was super unique with the coleslaw at the bottom, avocado next, and crab cake on top. You have to get all the layers together to really appreciate the awesomeness that went into it. I got a fork to try to push it all together so I could shove it in my mouth. And that bread! Buttery soft goodness! The slaw was also so good i wished I had ordered a side if it. The fritters were also great, full of flavor and veggies and not just breading, but the roll was the true star. i left with most of it probably on my face, but I was so happy! Also as most mentioned the owner was so friendly and energetic and just makes you feel excited to be there. A true gem!! I will be dreaming and drooling over that roll for days to come. read more

One of the best lunches we have ever had in the keys! We were on our way to Islamorada and looking for a dog friendly place to stop and like usual Yelp lead us to the perfect spot. I had the grilled calamari salad and it was amazing. I'm already thinking about stopping on our way back home just so I can have it again. Other people in our party had the fresh catch of the day which was yellowtail and was also fresh and tasty. The staff were also very friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Absolutely delightful and delicious...We stopped here on our way home looking for a quick lunch. After seeing the Yelp reviews, I had to find it. We actually passed it and had to turn around, as it's a small shack on a service road. The place has limited parking and only offers outdoor seating. Food is made to order, and you will be pleasantly surprised. My husband ordered the calamari roll, and I had the (Casa Mar) fish roll, made with snapper. The bread was superb, and the seafood fresh. They serve beer and sodas from a cooler, and they have desserts too. Prices were reasonable, and service was great. We will definitely be back to try a lobster roll! If you're trying to avoid the tourist traps and want no-frills seafood, this is the place. read more

A small mistake was made and the owner overcorrected, despite us insisting that it was unnecessary. The catch of the day was fresh and flavorful, the fish tacos satisfied a week-Long craving, and the shrimp roll was packed to the brim with shrimp and delicious! Overall excellent place and food! This is One of the best a little find off the beaten path you will encounter driving down Highway 1 passing Islamorada. If you need a quick stop for some good fresh seafood stop here. We had the lobster roll, fresh ceviche, steamed shrimp, and even though it was a little hole in the wall it was absolutely amazing find. This place is awesome! We had the yellowtail roll (which was the catch of the day), and it was absolutely delicious. So fresh. We also shared the corvina ceviche and LOVED IT. The owner truly loves what he does and cooks- and you can tell. We feel lucky that we happens to stumble upon this place. (The mar bar was our first destination choice but they were closed). The best lobster roll in all of key west! This is an absolute must! The owner is so friendly and sweet, she cares so much about her tiny shack of delicious food! I had the lobster roll and even though I had to wait a few extra minutes... IT WAS SO WORTH IT! My fiancé had the pork roll, DELICIOUS! My MIL had the fresh catch roll, she said it was the freshest she's ever tasted! Great for kids too, they sell beer and wine and have happy hour and table games. Tried to call about 10 times around 1:30pm and when the guy finally answers, I ask if I can place a pick up order. He didn't say anything and instead just hangs up on me. I call again because I assume he didn't hear me and he said he can hear me, he just isn't going to take any orders now so he hung up on me. Very surprised that a place with such good reviews can be this rude. He says try to call again in 20 minutes to see if they start taking orders again. read more

Gyoza was ok. The crispy tuna was terrible. I kept one because I felt bad sending both back to the kitchen, but the other one we sent back and ordered a crunchy JB roll instead. Waiting a long time , and when it finally arrived- it was beep fried in thick batter. Like they never heard of tempura? She never came back to check on us. And when the bill came, she didn't provide me with a receipt , just the electronic reader with an amount. I asked if I could see the receipt and she pretended she couldn't understand me. I asked if I was being charged for the returned item and was told no. She stayed staring at me to make sure I put a tip before she walked away. Latter, I checked, and I had been charged for the returned item. They also sat us by a curtained off space in the wall with seemed to lead to a storage space in a lived in apartment. Were they living there? Now I have to fight to get a refund without a receipt. Just don't go there. Terrible in every aspect

So we were expecting fresh, delicious fish from reading the reviews--and we were not disappointed! But I need to mention the best I've ever tasted cole slaw (not even usually a fan), and the hot, crispy, perfectly salted fries!! Wow, we couldn't wait to come back for lunch after our first dinner here. Also, the owners are great- very friendly. They have wine and beer in the fridge where you order, as well as some soft drinks. The restroom is in the next building over. Definitely recommend this place! read more
