Lovely small spot. I got the carbonara. Nice staff, down to earth. Would definitely go back. Perfect date spot

What We Ordered - Branzino - Salmon Con Risotto Di Limone (Grilled Salmon Lemon Risotto) - Tagliata Alla Crema Di Funghi (Fettuccine with Mushroom Cream Sauce with Filet Mignon) Made this my go to spot for celebrations! We came on Valentine's Day. They had cute decorations. I hadn't notice before but the lights were made with pasta strainers! Had to get the Branzino again. The deboned it this time around and it seemed like there was more sauce now! Delicious as our first time. My husband was trying to be a bit healthier and opted for the Salmon with Lemon Risotto. It was tasty! Salmon was not dry. We wished it came with the same sauce as the branzino but the risotto helped with that. My Fettuccine with Mushroom Cream Sauce and Filet Mignon was my husband's new favorite. Beef was cooked perfectly for him and seasoned well. I think it was a tad too salty for me but I'm just sensitive to salt. Will always be back to try new items!!

This is a place you bring people you love. Great time from top to bottom. Carson, our server, was thorough, efficient, and well versed in the menu. Took super great care of us. The food was wonderful. The rib special was here for a brief time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to see it added to the menu to stay ... The space was cozy, authentic, and quaint. Paper on the tables and crayons if you wanna play some tic-tac-toe while you wait for the food. Will be back!

Get the mushroom cream sauce!! That's a must. The steak is delicious. Our server was great. The place is very romantic. Had three dishes for two people. Love this neighborhood spot.

Incredible service from the get go. I went here for the first time with my girlfriend for our one year anniversary and was greeted very nicely by the hostess and was served by Jesus who was nothing short of amazing. My girlfriend and I initially chose to sit in the lower section on the inside portion of the restaurant as the ambiance was very welcoming. It felt upscale but still kept a nice "homey" vibe. Little did we know, until we sat down, that it wasn't personally right for us at the time. My girlfriend is pretty sensitive sensory wise, so I kindly asked Jesus, before we received our food, if we could move to the outside section (which was also just as nice and kept the same vibe), and everyone was very understanding and accommodating. The food was also nothing short of amazing. Very flavor packed, good portion sizes, and decent prices, especially given the experience. Pasta was cooked perfectly and hit the spot just as I needed it to. On top of that, they gave us a complimentary 1 year anniversary tiramisu, and as a fellow tiramisu fanatic, I was very impressed! Maybe some of the best I've had, I can't lie. Greatly appreciate the operation that's taking place here. Will be coming back again in the future!

The stars aligned for our dinner at La Pergoletta! We immediately found parking in the small plaza which then had us arriving 15 minutes early to our reservation. We were the first to be seated in the Deli area at a nice corner table. The food -- EXCELLENT (as always). The husband was quite adventurous by trying new items. He had the Tagliata Classica with Filet Mignon and Fettuccine for his main, then chose the Troio for dessert. The daughter went with a lighter version of her favorite Gnocchi Ripieni by choosing Butter & Sage. Although I try and try....I just can't miss having the Branzino when it's available. It's always so, so GOOD! The staff -- super-friendly! The ambiance -- This continues to be casual and home-like. It was especially nice when the table candles were lit as the evening set in.

Wow, what a local gem! If you're looking for a classic family-owned Italian restaurant with incomparable ambiance, La Pergoletta is your spot. The menu boasts fun varieties of pastas that you can build out or choose from their classics and daily specials. I ordered the tortellinis and they were wonderful. Quality you can taste, pasta that is made in house and fresh, and cheese that melts in your mouth. The staff are super lovely and sweet. Typically there's usually a line to enter so I'd recommend to book reserve a table online and arrive early.

Pros: The food was simple, but delicious Intimate, casual restaurant Cons: Service was a little slow, but friendly Very small parking lot After dinner, we had cocktails and listened to the juke box at the Drawing Room which was next door. Then headed to our concert at The Greek. Perfect evening.

Came here for a birthday party, and they were amazing with a group. But also the atmosphere is dimly lit and intimate so I think it would be perfect for a date night as well. The service was great. Our waitress was very open and knowledgeable about the menu/making changes and extra charges (informally a group still only gets one bread bowl for free so we had to order extra so we could all have some). The food was incredible! I got the ravioli and I love that the pasta is made in house. Great portions too- not a lot to be wasteful but just enough to leave room for dessert. Definitely recommend for a special night!

Such fresh pasta and salads, and many options for different eaters. I ordered the Insalata Pergoletta (salad with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke) and the spaghetti Arrabiata (spicy tomato basil sauce). Would definitely return.

my most recent visit was genuinely disappointing, and that's hard to say because i've always loved this place. i made a friday night reservation for three at 8:15 pm, excited to finally bring friends here. from the moment we sat down though, we were essentially invisible. a table that arrived 15 minutes after us was greeted, given water, was served and offered bread before we'd even been assigned a waiter. we had to ask for one twice. when i politely asked if we could at least get some bread while we waited, the response was a rude "there's a line." after sitting there hungry with almost no acknowledgment, that really was RUDE and uncalled for. we ended up waiting over an hour for three pasta dishes with barely any communication from the staff throughout. the service that night completely altered the experience. i'm hoping it was just an off night, because i used to love coming here and would hate for this to be the new norm.

Staff was very kind and recommendations exceeded expectations. Portion sizes were good as well. Would highly recommend for a nice lunch/dinner. Parking may be limited.

Maccheroni Republic - Life is full of pasta-bilities!…read more So if you know anything about me, you know that I love pasta more than just about anything. While I can only officially claim about 12% Italian heritage, I'm 100% down for Italian food, especially homemade pasta, any day of the week. I'm spending this week in Little Tokyo for a conference, and while Japanese food is also absolutely my jam, when Maccheroni Republic slid into my Yelp feed, I knew that I had to hoof it over there immediately after we broke for the day. I saw the front of the building, and my heart sank because it looked closed, but then I noted the sign that indicated that the entrance is on the right side of the building through the courtyard. Thank goodness! I strutted through the courtyard, and observed about 15 people waiting for tables. Unbothered, I went up to the host stand and chatted with the stylish maitre'd - Dino - who indicated that he could have a table for me in 7-10 minutes. I proceeded to wait and I watched how he deftly sat the other waiting parties in order without difficulty or notes. To the untrained eye, it might have looked a little chaotic, but Dino absolutely knew what he was doing. About 15 minutes later, Dino sat me at a corner deuce in the inside dining room where I had a nice view of everything. Angel efficiently took my order and did a very good job of overseeing my table as well as about nine others. The dining room is so cute and homey, and the patio is a welcome respite from the bustle and business of downtown. Since I was "da sola" or on my own, I just tried the shrimp cakes and I ordered the Rigatoni all Norma which is one of of my go to pasta dishes since I don't eat much meat. Incidentally, this dish is named after Norma, the famous 19th-century opera composed by Catanese native Vincenzo Bellini. According to legend, a famous Sicilian playwright, Nino Martoglio, tried the pasta and was so overwhelmed by its perfection that he exclaimed, "Chista è 'na vera Norma!" ("This is a true Norma!"), comparing the culinary masterpiece to the musical one. So says Wikipedia anyway. The shrimp cakes were delivered quickly by a sweet food runner who kindly checked on me periodically during my dinner. The four shrimp cakes were accompanied by sauteed onions which paired really nicely with the crispy cakes that were brightened with a spritz from the fresh lemon wedge. She also brought a basket with four slices of Italian bread which I enjoyed with the EVOO and Balsamic that were on the table. My Watermelon Ciao was also so good. It was sweetly tart and such a nice treat on a Monday! Not long after I polished off the shrimp cakes, the rigatoni was delivered and dusted with a generous layer of parmigiana. The little fresh mozzarella pearls glistened on the top of the pasta and slowly melted and oozed into the sauce as I stirred it up. Yum! The rigatoni were al dente and delicious, and they were perfectly sauced. Of course, the eggplant was perfectly cooked as well, I only wish there had been a few more pieces of it - although by the time I ate the last noodle, I was so full! Alas, I had no room for dessert, but I intend to bring some of my conference colleagues back for a meal before the end of the week because it was THAT GOOD. I also loved that this place is NOT pretentious at all. There were all sorts of folks enjoying their food here from medical professionals in scrubs to college kids in shorts and t-shirts, and I was also very casually attired, but I was treated well and welcomed with graciousness and delicious food! Mille grazie Maccheroni Republic, Dino, Angel and everyone at this wonderfully lowkey yet fabulous trattoria.

Spicy pomodoro is perfectly al dente and a well-balanced sauce. But, my favorite-- the agnolotti! Wow, melt in your mouth! The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. My only wish -- larger serving of this (smallest pasta serving on the menu). To complete it, banana pudding tiramisu -- delicious too with a firm center and oozy outside. Atala was wonderful and very sweet. Recommendation: come with a group of at least 4 to try more on the menu -- the large plates (branzino and ribeye) looked excellent! Definitely a worthwhile visit.

We came on a Thursday night as a group of four and the place was pretty busy. From everything I've heard, Cento is one of the more popular pasta spots in LA right now, so I was excited to finally try it. We started with the radicchio salad which was delicious. Light, refreshing, and tangy, a great way to start the meal. For pasta, we ordered the Spicy Pomodoro, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Broccoli Bucatini, and the Cavatelli Finocchio. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite because every single one was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and each dish felt unique. My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Sitting outside in their back patio was enjoyable, while the indoor dining area is cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Everything looks appealing and well-presented, but unfortunately, much of the food lacked flavor. I ordered the Pappardelle Genovese pasta, and although it looked delicious and had plenty of meat, it was surprisingly bland. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal. The quality of the food is undeniable, and it's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. That said, I was disappointed to see the automatic 5% wellness charge added to the bill. While I understand the intention is to help fund employee benefits, I don't think customers should be put in the position of directly subsidizing them through a separate fee. Yes, you can ask to have the charge removed, but doing so makes you feel like the bad guy--as if you're choosing not to support the staff. Why not simply incorporate the cost into the menu prices? Add a couple of dollars to a pasta dish or adjust pricing accordingly. At least then the cost is transparent and built into the dining experience rather than appearing as an extra charge at the end of the meal. Mother Wolf is already an expensive restaurant. Cocktails can easily run around $30 each, so it's hard not to wonder why employee benefits are being passed on to guests as a separate line item. The food and service were excellent, but the wellness fee left a bad taste in my mouth and would make me think twice before returning.
