Fam decided on some late night eats coming from a fun-filled wedding not too far from here. (I guess we burnt off everything we ate during the event!) Hubbers and cuzzo decided on Whataburger since it was convenient. Plus, we all remember really liking it the last time we had it. Since it was almost 1am, it made sense that we were the only customers on hand. The whole place was clean (given, since there were no other customers), chairs and tables in place. No clutter. Hubbers, Cuzzo and I decided to park and walk in. (At the same time, in a separate car, nephew-in-law and his party of 3 went through the drive thru.) We were buying grub for a few other people who weren't with us. I much prefer no mustard or pickles on my burgers, but I didn't want to complicate things. I figure I'd pluck the pickles out when I get it and just let the mustard be. How bad could it get...? Crew member had to ask us to wait because there was no cash box. Once that was settled, we put in 5 orders of Whataburger combo, chicken strips and a chicken sandwich combo. Took a minute and then some, and then we were on our way back to our hotel. Cuzzo brought three orders up to his room for his wife and kids and came back down to join Hubbers and I to eat at the dining area. So, two HUGE snags here. 1) One of the sandwiches was a cheeseburger. (What?! We didn't order this!) So we figured nephew-in-law's drive-thru order was a cheeseburger short! He said he didn't care at this point. It's late, he's hungry, etc... 2) As planned, I plucked out all the pickles off my burger - and it was A LOT, gotta say. (Great for pickle lovers!) But even then, why is my sammich still extra sour?! I thought it was just me, but Cuzzo just happened to mention it. Too much mustard, maybe?! But it was not good. The sour was way too overwhelming that kinda halfway through, I decided to just go protein style and dumped everything but the patty. Good thing we had sides of fries and onion rings to taper down the tang embedded in our taste buds. Hubbers loved his chicken sandwich and strips, though, so at least there's that. FOOD: 1.5. Cuzzo and I did not enjoy that at all. SERVICE: 2. There's no reason for the mishaps. We were the only customers. We gave no indication we were in a rush. They had every opportunity to get it right. VALUE: 2. PARKING: Not an issue at at 1am. OVERALL: 1.75. I asked nephew-in-law if they were missing a cheeseburger on their order. "Nope." We were also disappointed to find out later they didn't have the chili burger (we saw ads on our drive south the next morning.) I mentioned this to someone I know who used to work at a Whataburger. One explanation he had was that crew did not drain off the pickles - they got the pickles out of the jar which unnecessarily drenched the bread with pickle juice. "They're suppose to drain the pickles, not pluck them out of their containers." There's a good chance I won't find myself anywhere around this 'hood anytime soon, but even if I did, I wouldn't return to this particular spot. It simply was NOT GOOD. read more

Food and service was just ok for me...(all about the hype to me) so maybe I had higher expectations ...I had the Spicy Chicken Cobb Salad, crispy hot spicy chicken filet ...fresh greens, tomatoes, cheese, boiled egg, carrots and creamy ranch dressing...my friends had the jalapeño burger, a bacon burger ...lots of bacon with all the fresh shredded lettuce, tomato and onion ...French fries were "just" that...the cool thing was when the condiment chick came by with all your extra condiments and napkins ...that was a nice touch ..quite the line for food into the tables where people are eating ...i kinda like my own space when I enjoy my food ..so didn't care for that too much ...overall I loved trying new places on our road trip! read more

The appeal of Whataburger is that it is part of the Texas identity. I had never been to Texas before outside of the airport, but once I actually got to spend time on the ground, this was my first stop. The aesthetic of the restaurant and the menu is unlike anything I'd ever seen before. I ordered a #1 and the burger was the size of a small plate! I quickly discovered that everything really is bigger in Texas! However, bigger isn't always better. As my dad said appropriately, "This was just average fast food." Unless you know how to customize something to your exact liking, I would say that the taste of the food isn't anything special. If you're just visiting Texas, stop at Whataburger if you've never been, say you did it, then don't bother again. read more

I've never had an issue with the quality of their food. After a long wait in the drive thru, my justa burger was very good and fresh. So I give them another try fit a late night meal. When I pulled up, I noticed their wasn't any customers inside. I placed my order, pulled around and there was one car ahead of me. Terrible service! We went in at 3:15am, before a flight out that morning. I placed my order online to be ready between 3:06am--3:16am, sausage biscuit, coffee, water, breakfast bowl w/no cheese and I paid extra for bacon. It took several minutes for my husband to even be acknowledged at the counter. Our order didn't come out until 3:31am and they put cheese on the breakfast bowl and I didn't even get the bacon I paid extra for! This has to be the worst Whataburger my husband and I have ever been to. Driving thru this town coming from Colorado I had to pick the worst place to eat. The so called 2 managers on duty were worthless. The entire team looks lost and no direction. Been going here for years, quality definitely depends on the time of day you go. I personally recommend going in the morning, service is usually fast and the staff are nice, the food is also fresh in the morning. 4/5 stars for cleanliness, not the cleanest place I've ever been but definitely cleaner than most Whataburger's I've been to. When dining in staff usually bring napkins and an assortment of condiments which is much more than any other Whataburger I've been to. read more

Locations seem to be about the same, favorite burger is the Sourdough mushroom burger, it has two patties with lots of cheese and mushrooms, they are absolutely amazing! Do not go here!! I have never in my life received such bad service. After waiting 30 minutes my husband went and asked about our order they gave him our burgers and mine was ice cold. This must be a teen hang out. The entire time the students were very loud and dropping there F word. There were kids in there. I would expect a manager to have a little more control over their restaurant. It seems the wait staff only cared about their teen friends because they were served quickly. I failed to remember the young mans name at the register but he was exceptionally friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcomed! This is the second time I'm writing a review because it's literally the worst location I've ever been, they have never been able to get any of my orders right. They constantly get sizes wrong despite the ticket saying otherwise like it's not hard to read. I went here late night and the drive thru was closed went in to order and the employee gave another person my order when the person got it they opened it lifted the bun and said this isn't my order rewraps it and gave it back the employee proceeds to take it to the back and whisper loudly I gave that guy the girls food sits it on the counter for like 5min then picks it up and says sorry for the wait we were making fresh fries.
