Maybe a year or two ago, this place would've had more stars but goodness... the string of profanity that wants to escape me nowadays about this place. I work nightshift in downtown area. You know this place is hit or miss. I've gone here at times and food was delish. Then today the food was gross and I had my fiancee return it. I'm not sure what that was about, especially the snarky service- "just add pepper to the ketchup to make it spicy ketchup". This was today in the evening and there was maybe two customers inside. I've gone inside when it's busy as hell during lunch, dine in, and experienced better service and tastier food-always the Monterrey Jack. The parking is a nightmare at that time. Went to the Drive Thru for a late night snack. I ordered the Whataburger (was made to order) no cheese with fries (were crispy but could have been a little more golden brown) and an ice tea. This place has a great breakfast. Chicken biscuit is super legit. They do not have breakfast all the time just from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM. I am also the wierdo who goes here just to grab a coffee. Good customer service is what this place lacks. I used the drive through to place two orders of 3 chicken strips with fries. The lady took half of my order and then disappeared. I kept saying hello, hello, hello but no one answered. So as a courtesy to the long line of cars behind me, I drove through to the window. As expected they didn't have my order. I gave it to her again but she showed me a terrible attitude and an extreme unprofessional treatment. I asked her for ketchup and BBQ sauce. She charged my card and on the charge was additional charge for BBQ sauce which I never ordered. All I wanted is two orders of 3- chicken strips and fries. The BBQ sauce is free and so is the ketchup. The lady charged me for an extra BBQ sauce that I never ordered and she kept arguing with me that the sauce is not free. She refused to listen to me that I didn't need the extra sauce but of course to no avail. Even though the BBQ sauce is 35 cents, it still pissed me off because their attitude and their poor customer service truly got to me. I filed a complaint with the Whataburger head office to ensure they address their staff at their location on 3797 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77027. There is no need for rudeness and poor customer service. If the employee is mad at the employer, they shouldn't take their anger out on the customer. When I want a good burger, this is where I go! The flavor here is much like Fat Burger (but better) and always tastes fresh and is pretty unique to the south. There isn't an In and Out burger here so head over to the ever so consistent Whataburger! My fav is the number 5 combo the bacon cheeseburger. This is the shittiest whataburger I've ever been to. Was in the drivethru for 30 minutes - the line was not long - a 5 car line. When I finally got to the window, food wasn't ready, drinks weren't ready. Window guy tells me to pull up. Five minutes later my food comes out, it was the wrong order. Food comes out in another 5 minutes again from manager, they forgot our fries. I go inside to fix my order and there was NOBODY inside - was NOT understaffed. So the whole 30 minute wait in the drivethru and a additional 10 minutes to receive the wrong order two times was just bat shit crazy. The management of this whataburger sucks. Today's disaster included them directing me to pull over to "Lane B." I waited there for over ten minutes while I watched 4 different cars that had been behind me in line get served before me. It's not technically fast food because your food is cook-to-order. My fave are the burgers! You can add/subtract whatever, even ask for a wheat bun if you want. AND the reason it's REAL REAL popular for the younger generation is because THEY NEVER CLOSE!!!!! So after a night of partying and the stomach is growling OR on a roadtrip you need something to eat, this is your spot! Very disappointed in the quality of service in your team tonight. They had no since of urgency and was not prepared tonight. There were no straws or napkins that was placed out for guest to use. While being busy the cashier took A break while having A line for the next customer. I always come to this location and I see exactly why I go through drive through. The quality and service of this location is A 1. I waited 45 min and still didn't receive my food. I asked for my money back and got A refund because the staff was not worried about the guest waiting in the building. The general manager should have looked at the schedule and saw that there was going to be A big football game that night and literally only 4 workers on shift that was including the Manager. No cashiers was there to help support and only one person prepping food for about 35 people in the restaurant. I would love to hear back from the General Manager about my experience at this location. I like this place. The food is generally well prepared and pretty consistent. The dining room is good sized and clean. What I don't like is the long wait. Even though the food is pretty much prepared to order, this is supposed to be a fast food establishment (emphasis on the FAST). I came in here on March 26. Around 9 pm. I work at discount tire down the street. Now I was taking a. Coworker home when he asked me to take him to water burger. And I did. One I placed my order. And I pulled up to the window. The gentle man behind the window repeat my order 4x very loud and clearly as if I was death. Little short after they asked me to move to the side. I did and i awaited patiently, just so the "manager" could come up to the window and flick the food at me. After I politely said thank you. Now I don't know why people like water burger but at this point McDonalds better than y'all. And that's f**** sad. To top it off they gave me a power raid with ice. This was the closest Whataburger to my apartment and it was always busy. Sometimes they might have gotten my order wrong but I still ate it anyway. Typically if you have a big order they have you pull over in the yellow square or around front. This is located in a plaza and nearby is a bar named Swagger and it gets pretty rowdy there and patrons hang out at the Whataburger, it's a great people watching time. read more
