Awhile back, I was watching a movie and was surprised to hear Whataburger referenced in the dialogue. I am from Texas but moved away many many years ago. Currently live in Maryland, where there are no Whataburger's, but was in town visiting parents and decided to see if the movie quote of "...the best burger you'll ever have is at Whataburger" was still true from what my childhood memories recalled. I ordered the double meat burger with the normal fixins, fries, onion rings and Dr. Pepper (because 10/2/4). The burger was absolutely delicious. I have eaten burgers from 4.9/5 stars restaurants back home and this one was better than those by a country mile. The fries and onion rings were both crisp and hot and delicious. Shift MGR, Andrew S, was friendly and attentive. He greeted me immediately and took my order for the mushroom swiss burger (which was as good as any steakhouse). He patiently answered all of my questions, and made some suggestions for more items to try. In addition to my burger, I had the chicken strips with creamy pepper sauce. The chicken strips were hot and juicy, light and crispy. They were a good portion size as well, and obviously real chicken. I was able to pull the meat into shreds, so it's not that ground up, packed, chicken nugget meat. The creamy pepper sauce was a perfect complement to the strips. I can't really describe the sauce. It's similar to a thousand island dressing, but the spices are more prevalent. It's not spicy like a hot sauce. The mushroom swiss burger consists of two well-seasoned and juicy beef patties, two slices of molten swiss cheese, sauteed meaty mushrooms, and an aioli sauce that is to die for. One bite had my eyes rolling back in my head. I was absolutely satisfied with everything I had, including my golden fries and Whataburger's spicy ketchup. Yummmm!!! You have succeeded in providing literally the worst customer service I've received in a very very long time. I ordered over $75 worth of food tonight through the Whataburger app. I paid extra for delivery. Also paid a tip. In return, I got absolutely nothing but a whole lot of "there's nothing we can do." I got ZERO food. I have two 5 year olds to feed, and no food. I called the number provided for the driver, it doesn't work. I called the restaurant and I've been told I'm out of luck. The whataburger app is apparently a 3rd party app. (Wtf?) $75+ worth of food is gone. And they refuse to do anything about it. They tell me to call the customer service number in the app. They're. Submitted. A. Report. A REPORT. How is that taking responsibility? How is that solving a problem for your customer. That person, when asked stated they have no ability to have the restaurant remake my order so I can pick up food. The person at the restaurant even told me that "we've had a lot of people stealing orders for delivery, we don't take any responsibility for the order once its picked up." So its a problem, but nowhere do they don't say that if someone pulls shenanigans with your order, you're out of luck. I've not been able to find a working number for Favor Delivery get to the help section of the website or app and it tells you that if you need to contact someone abour your completed favor, to see the help section on your app or website. The only phone number I've been able to find tells me its a favor phone number, but one that doesn't receive calls and give me the same "helpful" instructions...that just loop around. I. Am. Done. No whataburger ever again. No favor ever again (even tho I had no way of knowing before placing the order it would be favor). I am furious. I already have not been atypical...which blows my mind). The young lady at the counter didn't quite get our enthusiasm for the combinations, particularly my wife's she was tossing her way, but all was well in the end. Oh, and they bring the condiments and napkins out to your table, good people! I know it's only hamburgers we're talking about here, but when you're from Maine, and the chains suck as bad as they do for burgers (McDs, BK, that's it), then when you travel, you are always looking for that special regional take on burgers (like in LA, with In-N-Out). Very unhygienic and an outright terrible place to eat at. Cooks do not wear gloves, employees cough without washing hands, floors are filthy, and tables aren't cleaned after customers. Coming from Whittier CA I learned about this place in a buzzfeed video on youtube when i came to Kerrville to visit my friend Och I just had to try it to see what all the buzz was about I ordered the patty melt and my wife the whataburger and honestly the whataburger tasted just like a whopper without Mayo nothing great or amazing just a typical burger. The patty melt was big and cheesy a bit dry it lacked a little bit of flavor it might have been that it didn't have enough spread. The fries tasted just like McDonald's. The food was good, however when ordering a large drink we come to find out it was 2 slips and the rest was dominated by ice. No napkins and people who took our order was not the most pleasant people - in fact borderline rude.
