The food was good however I am disappointed that my chocolate milkshake didn't even contain enough chocolate for the drink to be brown. When I was handed the chocolate shake that I've been craving all day, I had to ask the employee "Is this chocolate?" He said "Yeah, but it doesn't really look like it." Needles to say, it doesn't taste like it either. Chocolate lovers, beware!!!

Today is 12/26/24. We are at the "closed" location with many other cars at the drive thru. We are able to order at the window for lunch. Our server was very nice. I have never been to a Whataburger so this will be interesting. My friends rave about it. The ambiance is casual. We had 2 cheese burgers and one large fries. Also trying one choc chip cookie for a little later. My daughter loves them and we don't have them in Miami. I thought they were just okay. The fries are great though...crisp on the outside and soft in the center. Indoors is not open. Just the drive thru.

The dining area is nicer than most local fast food places with large windows.

It took a long time for the city of St. Augustine to get its first Whataburger, so I'm glad this location is well-run and clean with such a friendly staff. We come in sometimes for taquitos, a late-night staple of my youth in Texas after going to a concert or bar. Now we get them for breakfast as the menu intended. The burgers are always delicious -- don't forget to add the Jalapeños. Large windows on two sides of the dining area make this one of the nicer fast food places to eat in, especially in the morning.

The food is good very similar to McDs, a lot less greasy, the service was on point the staff was friendly, got the order right and very nice. It's a cute restaurant with seating indoors only. We had our dog with us so we had to eat in our car. They do have a drive through. We had two double burger meals and a chicken sandwich meal and onion rings and it cost $47.

    Disappointing to say the least

Another WHATABURGER location, another disappointing experience - I give up, I was hoping this burger would live up to the hype but after trying this burger restaurant four different times at four different locations after today's experience I finally get it, this burger joint is not anything close to what I like. A cold dry thin patty on a smashed over-size bun filled with large chunks of brown bib lettuce, large irregular chopped onions, flavorless tomatoes drowned in mustard with great pickles served with cold fries times two with drinks for $26 - I was beyond disappointed. We arrived just after the lunch hour when the staff was in the dining room in cleaning mode and happened to start two feet from our table just as our food arrived in a half empty restaurant - one guy was slopping dirty water on the floor with a dirty mop, one guy was smashing the garbage with his foot while standing inside the trash can thigh deep and no one was busing the dirty tables. I admit I was hesitant to give WHATABURGER another opportunity to convince me all my other experiences were flukes and turn me into a fan but again another epic failure - where is the manager, where is the training, where is the quality control? I can't believe these guys made an investment of this magnitude and under perform on so many levels, in my opinion all other burger options are better than this. I wish I had never visited this place so I wouldn't have to write such a negative review...

5 stars for Whataburger, fast friendly service. Good quality for the price. I try to stop here whenever possible.

Whatacrap yeah it's open late but the place is dumpster fire. Ran by a bunch of kids that don't give a f. The place just opened and it looks bad. Kids Floating around the places is just I don't know what yeah they're slinging some food out the window and give you some crap for 15 bucks but really it's crap. Sorry everybody that gave it a good review and that love Whataburger from wherever they're from, this just wasn't good. Maybe if they season the meat and put some sauce on it. I should have added ketchup or mustard because the burger comes dry no condiments just not what I'm used to. For me I didn't like it and it was full of a bunch of late night kids, totally nothing worth stopping for, For me no thanks.

This may look small in the picture, but a Whataburger is substantial.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. By the time I was a few sips in, it was mostly meltwater. For that money I'd expect the drink to outlast the ice. Suggestion for the house: given the name, lean into it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.

We had a small group so we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The reason I took a star off the rating was for service. It was disappointing because every single employee we encountered was not overly friendly. This includes hostess, bartender and waitress. It was odd. Such a cute place but we felt like the staff was just blah. No personality, not helpful, nothing. Not interactive or engaging. Maybe it was an off night for everyone. I will give it another chance.

It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!
