Was waiting in drive thru tonight for 15 minutes because the manager was standing outside talking to a minor. The manager name is Dante and ignored our honks. We get home and our food is cold and he ignored all the long line while he continued to talk to friends out in line. total mess. placed a mobile order got to the drive thru at 1 am. although they were busy, we were told to pull forward as they gave every single other car in the drive thru that had gotten there after us their food. after waiting over 30 minutes, i went inside where i had to wait another ten while the workers tried to pretend i wasn't there. they had to get our bag out of the warmer, which just had the fries, and make the entirety of our order right there, as they hadn't yet started. even though at this point the drive thru had totally emptied, and we had gotten there before all of the others (that had already left at this point). literal shakespearean tragedy read more

I stopped at a Whataburger last year when passing through Texas. I recall not being impressed, the food was OK but not impressive and the value wasn't there. Here we are about a year later back in Texas with a Whataburger (not the same location as last year) two minutes from where we are staying. My initial thought was to avoid them but on a whim, I stopped in and got a couple of burgers and some fries for our dinner one night. I ordered myself a Sweet and Spicy burger on Texas toast (a free option) without the fried onions. The burger was a double with bacon, two types of cheese and as the name implied a sweet and spicy sauce. The burger was big and tasty, the bacon and cheese were plentiful enough to make a difference. Overall the Whataburger Sweet and Spicy was a good fast-food burger. I got the wife a junior (single vs double patty) mushroom and swiss burger. She too found her burger to be tasty and big enough even as a "junior". The mushroom sauce and mushrooms really added to her enjoyment. The fries weren't noteworthy, despite the short two-minute walk home they were not hot nor fresh, we probably got the tail end of a batch. read more

Discrimination!!! Worst service ever. I'm a Truck Driver & on this trip I brought my kid & wife along. I get to the door & I see an employee walking out. He tells me "dine in is closed, just bring your truck & get in line" so I tell him, how am I suppose to pull into here with a semi truck? He says i don't know that's not my problem. So I said ok thanks. So I knock on the door & a manager comes & tells me to order on the app & I did. Me & my wife couldn't see the chicken tenders on the app. So I knock again & he took me card & charged me. He then brings out the orders & tells me., "my other manager told me you can't be doing this every-time you come here, he had already told you this yesterday" I told him sir this is my 1st day here in San Antonio I hadn't been thru here ever. He says well that's what my manager told me to tell you., he seemed upset when he told. I don't seem to understand, is it cause I drive a semi truck I got discriminated cause that's how it felt., (A group of 4 teenagers got there & they went thru the drive thru to order & the manager came out & told them to order on the app but no everyone has good phone service, i didn't know their situation but they left) What's going here at this Whataburger, I've been to other locations & NEVER HAD I HAD THIS KIND OF SERVICE. I can not keep going back unless something changes. 6 out of the last 7 times we have eaten there the burger is cold/barely room temperature, and the cheese is a square that's not even melted. Today, at this store, because of all the previous problems, I always ask "did you make the burger fresh" ?? I ask when ordering to make sure it's a fresh Petty, and I ask at the window are you sure it's a fresh patty and a cheese is melted, I always get how resounding "Yes"... however most the time I'm being lied to like today again. It's extremely frustrating when you come in to buy food for the whole family and enjoy a taste you grew up on and it's never consistent anymore. In recent times I've certainly noticed the care is gone, i've seen piles of meat stacked on the side of grills just waiting to be thrown on a bun cold and dry. That seems to be what I get a lot of, and it's completely unacceptable. We are no longer getting what we pay for. When I do say something about it, all I get is a canned response like " i'm very sorry I'll be sure to let my grill person know" or "I'll let a manager know" ... today Bridget, the manager walked out and said her apologies and said of course the same thing " I'll be sure to let my grill person know". Quite honestly it's not right to have to come back, or have to go through having someone not tell you the truth about something you paid for and expected. I'm on the road a lot, a couple weeks out of each month, and I have always enjoyed stopping at Whataburger and eating with me with my family... I even bring work colleagues with me. I work in the entertainment business with radio and television and have a lot of personalities that tell me they just stopped going for the same reasons. The drive thru worker at 4am caught a ridiculous attitude about our order. i've never heard such rudeness at ANY fast food place. She was rude with her tone and backtalk in a way that wasn't called for in the clarification she was "asking" for. Better vetting for employee character is necessary at this location. Had to edit because on top of the drive thru order taker the cashier could not do apple pay which has never happened to me at any other location and the cashier was persistent on me going inside to do so. He did not offer any condiments and i had to wait after payment while he was ignoring me to ask for ketchup. I've never received such awful service from a Whataburger. read more

The place is always clean, crew is very customer friendly, and the food comes out quick - and they bring it to your table instead of calling you up to the counter. They also have staff that walk around asking if you need ketchup, salt, pepper, napkins, or even drink refills. This is definitely the quintessential Whataburger! read more

My choice for late night, after bar snacking. The drive through is usually efficient and actually pretty fast. I've sat here for about 7 mins with 3 cars in front of me. I usually ask for fresh fries and they are pretty good about making a batch. That can sometimes take a couple of extra minutes. Try the chicken tender melt. It is yummy! read more

This is my go to spot late at night and early in the morning. I'm so obsessed with Whataburger! A lot of UTSA students go to this location especially after parties. I usually get the barbecue chicken strip sandwich with a strawberry milkshake or the honey butter chicken bisque with orange juice in the morning. It just makes my day. The building is somewhat clean on the inside but I usually go to drive thru. The staff are nice and quick which is what I like. But I gave Whataburger a high rating strictly based on the food.
