On our long drive to Florida, we stopped by to get late lunch... I did lot of research before we got there and already knew what I wanted... so walked in and got #5 with onion rings - #5 is bacon & cheese whataburger. Unlike other fast food hamburger chains, the staff member brings out the food to you... then offers you condiments from their "condiment tray"... nothing special... I went with the spicy ketchup. Now, I know lot of friends who love this chain and heard great things about it... but maybe I missed something? I really don't know why folks love this chain so much... thoughts? The bacon and cheese burger that I got was nothing special... a typical bacon cheeseburger, the onion rings were also the standard onion rings... so what makes their burger better then other joints? Whataburger? Yep, that's a good question, and it appears the chain is really trying to figure it out without any success. When you think of a burger is it juicy and fresh or dry and cardboard like? If you picked the latter, then Whataburger is for you (not for me). This place made Burger King look like a classy joint. Great burger spot! Great customer service! Their fries and shakes are amazing. Their milkshakes are thick and creamy. You can eat your milkshakes with spoon, because they are that thick. Their burgers remind me of an old grease spoon burger shop, where the burgers come with all the right fixings minus the mayo; instead they use mustard. We also tried their honey chicken breakfast biscuit while there and it was the BOMB! I actually enjoyed their honey chicken biscuit more than I did my burger and I'm not a breakfast person either. read more

after waiting 20mins in line and an additional 7mins at the microphone to have someone even speak to me the woman who took our order had an attitude the whole time and called your sandwich chicken dry twice.... on top of that we ordered three fries she charged us for 5 and gave us 4..... i was going to let all of that go until i took a bite of my burger and it was the worst burger i've had in my life. the whataburger bacon and cheese was over cooked and had no ketchup or any sauce on it the bacon was barely cooked it had literally zero flavor. i have two starts because the milkshakes and fries where good (although both very hard to mess up) but as someone who also works in the fast food industry and understands how it is especially at this time of night that experience was horrible. read more

I was highly dissatisfied with my experience today. After waiting almost 10 minutes to play my order I waited another 15-20 minutes to pay. After paying for my order the food was cold. The manager insured me that the burger just came up. This was false & the fries felt like they had been in the fridge. I requested the manger who said his name was Jimmy to remake my food. He asked me to move up. I declined due to already waiting almost 30 minutes prior for ONLY a just a burger kids meal. He then proceeded to slam the drive thru window behind him. read more

This may be the worst fast food experience I've had in the past 20 years. We waited over 25 minutes for a hamburger and chicken sandwich. The place is chaos. The staff doesn't seem to be competent, but worse, they definitely do not care. When I tried to check on the status of our order after 20 minutes, The person I spoke to just looked blankly into my eyes, said not a word, and walked away. When the order finally arrive, the onion rings were cold, and the sandwich had so much sauce on it, the bun was saturated with it. Please learn from my sad experience... Waited 40 min for food in the drive thru. Was originally told I would have to wait for chicken tenders to be cooked/delivered or whatever...four cars proceeded after me. when I inquired about it, I was given attitude by a lady who was there at approximately 2:45AM on 3/15/2022. instead of apologizing, she blamed management and caught an attitude with me. Once again, this review I consider for the entire chain. This is a strong four stars. I can't see myself giving any fast food chain (except for Portillos, which in my own warped mind isn't fast food) five stars. I recall my very first exposure to the concept of a place called "Whataburger". It was a billboard on west bound I-10 as I was driving to Tallahassee for the first time for new student orientation at FSU. "Holy cow, 'Whataburger'" was my reaction. The name just screamed transfatty glop-like fast food. The only name more offensive was Orlando's "Hot and Now". After sampling Whataburger - and their retro-70s uniforms and ambiance - I can tell you its one of the best fast food joints in the south. For starters, they serve breakfast tacos they refer to as taquitos. The sausage egg and cheese taquitos, I'm convinced, are laced with heroin. You could wolf down three or more of these wonderful things and still want more. They serve a chicken finger basket with a side of southern gravy for dipping and two pieces of Texas Toast. Very delicious and original. If you are a fast foodaphobe, put your biases aside and try either of those items at Whataburger. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

If you like waiting an hour for cold food, this is the place for you. It wasn't even all that busy, I've seen many places way more slammed operating with a much higher level of efficiency. I have to hand it to the man who gave me the impression that he was a manager, he was working his ass off in the back while many of his employees were doing a lot of standing around talking to each other. He should be working with his mouth instead, as in properly delegating tasks to his employees, but I'm thinking he lacks the ability to do so. He's most likely been thrown to the wolves before he was ready. Another lady who also appeared to be a manager wrote something on my receipt that she said would get me a free meal next time, right before she fled like a rat from a sinking ship. I seriously doubt I'll take them up on it. This joint doesn't even deserve 1 star, but the app won't let me give them no stars so I have no choice. What sets this fast food joint apart from the others? Food quality and service. Service is quick and friendly. If you're dining in, just take a seat and your food will be delivered to your table. Forgot to get napkins or ketchup? No problem, your server will be happy to provide one from the tray of condiments and incidentals that they carry to your table when delivering the food. Food quality is excellent, keeping in mind that this is fast food and not fine dining. Whataburger is the the go-to place for a quick fast food breakfast. No rubbery scrambled eggs on their breakfast platter and what other fast food restaurant serves grits? They also serve breakfast from 11PM to 11AM? Seriously, what other fast food joint allows you to eat breakfast while your companions eat burgers? First time eating at this chain. We Ordered at the drive thru. Pleasantly surprised with the quality. Had the bacon and cheese burger meal with a what's burger with cheese $11. Service was fast. Lettuce tomatoes and onions were fresh. Meat tastes really good. Not greasy. I'm impressed and saddened that they aren't down south where I live. I'm from Miami & unfortunately there aren't any Whataburgers anywhere closer than 6.5 hours away. We went to a Whataburger in Mobile a few days ago. While it was delicious, the place was run down which is an understatement considering they had buckets & cups placed around the restaurant because the roof was leaking & had been for a while judging by the stains on the ceiling. THIS Whataburger was PHENOMENAL. It was incredibly clean, the food was just as delicious as the other one, & the service was excellent. I BELIEVE the woman's name was Jennifer, super nice & personable while being efficient. I love fast food restaurants that can maintain cleanliness, efficient & friendly service, AND yummy food (even if it's not the healthiest). I absolutely love Whataburger! Yesterday I tried some onion rings seeing as for the first time I realized they were on the menu. I get home and I try one and I'm amazed. I don't know if it's a secret seasoning or something in the oil they fry things in but there is a distinct taste you get from Whataburger fries and onion rings I've never tasted anywhere else. This is my frist timej eating at a Whataburger am i am throughly impressed. I like their 70's style motif. If reminds me of fast food places we used to go to when i was a kid so it brought back memories. The bacon cheddar burger is awesome. Huge double pattie burger bursting with all kids of flavor....onions, peppers, and mustard, and lots of gooey barbcue sauce to top things off. Its not your standard chain burger....its a whataburger. Whataburger is... fine. Don't get me wrong, I still come here for my whataburger jr. with extra pickles every now and again, but only because it's the closest fast food place to me. I've also had many great nights here after a night of heavy partying- and for that I suggest the barbecue burger and a great big strawberry milkshake. In my eyes, it serves its purpose. The food and service is usually good. My only complaint is the amount of time you may spend in the drive thru line. Why won't you ask the people who have orders that may require a long while to pull over to the side and take their order to them when ready, rather than have everybody else wait for 5-9 minutes in line for their food. I love Whataburger; I have had a positive experience at all of the ones I've been to except this one. I use the app since I'm a fairly frequent visitor and had a reward on there. I checked my balance before placing my order (which I always do in case I need to add funds) and definitely had enough to cover it. I scanned my app, it took off what it needed. The cashier put my order in again so my reward would get redeemed, and it charged my account again. I tried to explain multiple times how I was pretty sure I got charged twice, but I kept getting told "nope, it only scanned once". They messed with my account for several minutes, and finally I got back to the remaining balance I should've had; however, when I checked the app a few minutes later, my balance was back at $0. On top of that, the tomatoes on my sandwich were obviously old and parts of them were green - not appetizing at all! I am pretty forgiving when fast food places make minor mistakes since I know they're busy and have a lot of customers to feed, but not when I get overcharged. read more

Whataburger has become a favorite of mine and anytime I am in a city that has one I'd love a good meal especially during a busy church conference schedule. However this location unfortunately just did a terrible job this past weekend. First of all, I asked for a specific meal that was on the menu and nobody knew how to even make the meal but it's was a classic on the menu. I wonder where the training was on that. Secondly, after realizing they did not ask me if I was a rewards memeber still being at the store gave me the old lazy excuse of I have to scan before I pay. (This caused me to have to call a complaint and another Whataburger honored my visit therefore I got my count thankfully) Then upon getting my food they gave me the wrong receipt and the manager didn't even know how to print out back dated receipts. I ended up getting my food and receipt and leaving after about 30minutes of wait time because they couldn't get it right. Then to overhear louder employees talking about me behind the counter just made the experience even more terrible. read more

The wait may be a while most of the time that I go but it is so worth the wait! Whataburger is what I wait to visit home for. There are no Whataburgers in Orlando, sadly.
