Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.

Not a member, but apparently, people can purchase a restaurant membership for a yearly fee. That's…read morewhat the in-laws did, otherwise I wouldn't be going. Anyhoo, I've been a few times, and the food is pretty good. Not great, but good. The service is very good, and the overworked staff do a heck of a job considering the obnoxious people they have to wait on.

I would like to start off saying I would NEVER recommend or book with Rendezvous by Maria (Mitzie)…read moreReich LLC (also known as Reich World Events Services) business' again. This business has demonstrated a consistent lack of professionalism, honesty, and communication. The issues began when Maria double booked the venue we contracted through her. Instead of contacting me to discuss the error, she sent an email on a Friday evening confirming a different venue she had already booked without my approval. We approved a decoration mockup created by her assistant; however, the day-of execution did not match what was agreed upon. The tablecloths provided were wrinkled and visibly damaged, including holes and mold. Although Maria stated replacements were on the way, the issue was not properly resolved. Additionally, the table runners were the wrong color and there was not enough inventory, resulting in mismatched runners, which was not part of the agreement. Maria was not present for setup, leaving the work to her assistant and others, which contributed to poor coordination. After the event, I communicated my dissatisfaction with both the planning and execution. Maria stated she would provide compensation in writing, which never occurred. Our contract also included a $200 refundable deposit, which she acknowledged would be returned. It has now been nearly three months, with repeated follow-ups and no resolution or refund issued. While personal circumstances were cited as the reason for delays, failure to return a contractual deposit and follow through on written commitments is unacceptable. This business did not meet contractual obligations, and I would strongly advise against booking with this business!

A Golden Celebration to Remember! If I could give Rendezvous…read moremore than five stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. We recently celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Holiday Inn in Gaithersburg and I was naturally a bit anxious about making such a massive milestone feel special. From the moment we sat down with the Rendezvous team, specifically Mitzi and her daughter-in-law, Abby, all that stress just evaporated. They listened to every detail that I specified and gave me suggestions and other choices to choose from. Right from the start, Mitzi and Abby made me feel comfortable about my decision to hire them. The decorations were beautiful. They managed to strike that perfect balance between "Golden Anniversary" opulence and warm, inviting intimacy. The floral arrangements, all fresh flowers, were spectacularly elegant. The tables were set up as I specified, with gold table cloth, napkins and place settings. They transformed the Holiday Inn ballroom into something that felt both nostalgic and sophisticated. Our guests haven't stopped talking about how beautiful the room looked! Now, let's talk about the food. Prior to our event, Mitzi and Abby invited us to a food tasting event where there were about a dozen dishes that I could choose from. And they delivered! The appetizers were creative and flavorful, and the main courses and desserts were cooked to absolute perfection. As for the service, the Rendezvous servers were well trained, attentive and professional. In conclusion, Rendezvous treated our very special celebration with the respect and care it deserved. They didn't just "cater" a party; they hosted an experience. To the entire team: Thank you for making our golden year shine so brightly. If you are looking for a caterer who actually listens and delivers beyond your expectations, look no further than Rendezvous! ________________________________________

You can sign up online through WoodlawnManor.org or you can show up 10 to 15 minutes before the 10am start time on selected Saturday Mornings. The hike can go from two miles up and two miles back, in some cases they may only go 1 mile and give you the choice to continue on the trail. There are bathrooms located at the Carriage House (the visitor center). Here you can pick up free pamphlets and maps that tell you about all the historical sites available throughout the state of Maryland. We had a group of around 25 people and we took on a trail close by, on the other side of the property. I recommend bringing a light jacket, small snack, and bottled water. Our guide John was very engaging and told us a variety of stories about enslaved people that escaped from Maryland, he answered questions along the way, and had pictures to aid in his presentation. He asked questions to help us engage ourselves to think how enslaved people would, as we traveled through the woods looking around for clues, sites, and hiding places. I really got the sense of how smart and connected to the landscape you would have to be in order to survive this journey. I don't want to spoil it for you, but one of the most intriguing people that we learned about was Ann Maria Weems, at the age of 15, she ran away from her slaveholder in Rockville, Maryland, disguising herself as a male carriage driver and escaping to British North America, where her family was settled with other slave fugitives. The information given is brief, but enough to make you go do your own research. We came to certain landmarks in the forest that would have likely been used as markers for those running to freedom. While this trail is not the actual Underground Railroad, the trail serves as a good example of how an escape route would be devised given the resources needed to hide and camouflage one's self for safety. A small fee is charged, less than $10. There are outdoor picnic tables available for visitors who want to sit for a while or host their own lunch. They also offer group hikes and field trips. I highly recommend this trek, it is a real eye-opener to the experiences of the African American hero's who lived to tell an amazing story of thier survival and path to freedom here in America.

There's also a coat check closet but it wasn't manned when we were there. It may be that they just don't have one & everyone hangs up their own coats.
