Corn cheese/brisket

So apparently we visited this establishment before...which I didn't remember. We always suggested different KBBQ places so it's not surprising that it got lost in the mix. Anyway, so happy we found it again! When you walk in make sure to take a right, the left is a different restaurant. The meat is high quality and the sauce bar is 10/10. They had ramen, buckwheat, a clear thick noodle that resembled pappardelle which took 40 days and 40 nights to cook (still tasty), various meat/fish balls, seafood, GREENS (super important if you're eating tons of protein), and other veggies like mushrooms that could be put into plastic white containers and carried to your table. I loved the beef brisket, LAMB, steak, and the pork my friend picked was pretty good too (if you know me, you'll know why this is a high compliment). Our server was great about cooking and bringing items over. The establishment is clean, visually pleasing, and perfect for a group. My only "gripe", if you even want to call it that, is how there wasn't udon. They have plenty of other options so it doesn't matter, but if I had to change one thing it would be that. The sweet coconut coffee was tasty but could be a little sweeter (that's preference). I used a packet of monkfruit sweetener to adjust it. They also validate parking, which is wonderful :D Enjoy!

I celebrated my birthday here on a random Wednesday and I got the best service ever, made my birthday feel special. They came out with a birthday sign for me singing happy birthday with my friends. Monday- Thursday they have a happy hour drink from 4:30-10pm so my whole party was able to enjoy drinks with me without breaking the bank. I recommended the Hennessy mango margaritas, and lychee martini's both my favorite drinks at this place. I enjoy all the cuts of meat, but my favorite is beef bulgogi, and beef brisket with the corn cheese and rice as sides. You are also able to grab food off the tables where the sauce bar is, so you have options and you get free dessert at the end and we picked smore's :)

The food is good my daughters really like this and price is always right. It's not huge but the staff is nice and the sides re good. Orange chicken is good! The servers cooked our food on the grill and cut it up for us. They have rooms for parties and big enough tables for 7-8 ppl. Warning they have no heat... buy the food was good and timely cooked

we got a karaoke room with bbq and some drinks, the bbq came out to about 40 a person. it was not a cheap night but the food was good and it was nice being able to sing and eat in the same area. karaoke is easy to set up too, somaek towers were good

I've been to Nosh now twice and with both very good experiences. They have a lot of option for meat and seafood but I do have to say only the pork belly is memorable for me. Service was outstanding. My table and I were checked on several times throughout both my visits. They'll cook for you and also give recommendations on the food items they like as well. The interior is spacious and there's a lot going on. It feels very lounge like so now an ideal formal date night. For like a place to drink and eat with friends or family. There's also karaoke rooms in the back but I've never been.

10/5/24 Update: I saw the sign! And it opened up my eyes and I saw the signs! Seriously though I just noticed the giant Nosh Grill sign right on the door. It was right under my nose all along! Place is hopping on the weekend. Food is still delicious. Be sure to arrive early and get a spot! ------------------------ Great food, great service, great atmosphere. However, its strange this place has many names, including this secret one thats not found anywhere that I can see on the signs! This place in chinese is 老地方, pronounced Lao Di Fang (translate in English to The Usual Hangout); it's also advertised as East Grill Karaoke and East Dumpling House. Whatever you call it, it's the perfect hangout spot after dark, with terrific food, atmosphere, and music. Get that sexy night club feeling on and come on down! Pls use the private club rooms for karaoke and food enjoyment only. Nom nom nom!

Nosh Grill House is really unique in that it has two sides: bbq and a large carte. They also have karaoke. Love the set uo of the place and how vivid the decor is. Even the restrooms have this cute honeycomb and bee theme. I went during the holiday season so they decorated accordingly and it was quite cute. Service wise, the job was done. I believe our waiter may have been tired or maybe serving on an understaffed night because he kept forgetting our order. He laid close attention to detail while cooking, but the orders themselves he would forget. I would still return because it just seemed like it was a strange night and bit like an everyday occurrence. When the food and drinks did come out, they were oretty good. The meat was definitely hefty enough to make myself and my friend full on our 3rd round. The selection they had was large. They give you a tablet to swipe through to order and you choose the quantity as well. We ordered a lot of brisket, pork belly, lamb, and octopus. Everything was really good. The free sides weren't as great as other bbq places but it got the job done. The drinks were my favorite part. I had a lychee Martini which I still think about. The flavor was so good and the alcohol did not detract from it nor was the sweetness overbearing. My friend also had a few drinks and she loved them as well. For desert, they also offered s'mores, which I thought was cute! Ahaha the only thing I'd LOVE is if they changed the bbq basin when they offer them. Ours looked so gross after all the meat drippings landed in the water and they removed the pan. They may have to change in between customers anyway, so it really makes sense if they just switch the basin pans out when one orders s'mores. I had a good time, I'd return to try the other side and the drinks again.

Tried Nosh Grill for the first time this week and had a great experience! The food was delicious, the all-you-can-eat option is a really great value, and the service was exceptional. Nosh is a Chinese and Korean bbq fusion restaurant, and the menu reflects that. The basic AYCE option for $27 has a great variety of meats (beef, pork, and chicken) to choose from, and the addition of Sichuan/Chinese spices on some of them was a really nice touch. My party visited on a week night and was seated right away. The grill is already prepared with corn cheese and mushrooms to cook on the side, and the servers were so good about refilling them! Our waiter was really attentive and courteous overall. Nosh even has bubble tea available to order from Day Tea, which is located next door. We ordered bubble tea and 6 different meats from the basic AYCE menu. My favorites were the spicy pork belly and the beef belly brisket. They also have a variety of sides to choose from, including mixed wasabi flavored nuts, crispy tofu, broccoli and other typical banchans. The basic AYCE menu also has a few dessert options, and we finished our meal with some s'mores! We all had a great time and can't wait to go back again.

Robot food delivery

We came here last Saturday for dinner. The parking lot was insane, parked a couple of blocks away. This lot is for Nosh and East Dumpling and both get busy. Glad we made reservations because it was crowded, we got seated quickly. FYI, entire party must be present to be seated. Really liked the big screens and music. It was cool to have people singing karaoke, although we couldn't figure out where they were. Got lucky those singing were good. They also have these cool little robot servers that bring over the food. We love the price of the AYCE, we chose the basic. The food was good, some items better than others. I agree that some of the meat could have more flavor but we dipped all of our meats in the bean paste and yum yum sauce, because they were great. We liked the garlic butter chicken, thick pork belly, collar steak (pork shoulder), schezuan beef and spicy brisket. The sweet potato slices were cold, the little bit of rice we got, was cold. We got two servings (although we were 3) and were told they ran out of rice! What? I agree with other reviewers the grill was too small and vent is too low creating the shadow over the meat. I get the place was busy but our waitress was not good, her name starts with a B. She didn't ask if we had been there before, didn't tell us how everything worked, etc. She was absent, we had to get her attention several times, to ask for water refills, grill replacements, meat orders. I still gave her a 20% tip but she didn't deserve it. The waiter working neighboring tables was constantly at his tables, so he was managing. I have to note that we came with a $20 gift card, courtesy of the owner. She apologized that we came on such a busy night because it was a bit crazy. We didn't complain about the service to her for that reason. She was also nice enough to discount the parking cost.

I hardly had time to take photos of the food because we were so hungry and it looked SO good! I HIGHLY recommend Nosh. Their chili garlic brisket is unreal, along with pretty much everything else. The steak fat was soft buttery fat (not hard fat) which we love. With premium, we also had s'mores and ice cream! The service was fast and friendly. It was a fun environment with karaoke platforms and mounted TVs for music videos. I cannot wait to go back!

Jasmine G.

All you can eat! Good variety of meats and sides like the cheese corn and veggies. Our faves are the brisket and pork belly. Lots of drink options like bubble tea, alcoholic drinks, smoothies, etc. Our server, Jacob, was friendly and attentive! Lots of paid parking in the lot (free with validation at the restaurant).

Nosh grill house is a VIBE!!! From the moment you walk in, you're transported into the most fun, upbeat, karaoke, bbq spot! Also, a shoutout to our waiter Wilson! He managed not only our large group of 21 but even the section next to us without missing a beat! He was quick and always made sure we were taken care of!! Food wise, it is smarter to go ahead and do the all you can eat regardless of how much you actually intend on eating. The a la carte prices are steep in comparison. They offer a nice variety of meats and ones that are not traditional offered at a Korean bbq spot. I loved their garlic brisket and their tiger prawns! The best part of it all is that you can even do karaoke as part of your dinner service :) The drinks are also good too. We opted for the yogurt soju. It's mild, not too sweet and pairs nicely in a social vibe with your meal.

Nosh is a fairly new restaurant (opened in April 2023) in the downtown Rockville area with Asian cuisine options, including Korean bbq which we came for on a Friday afternoon. We were not able to make a reservation from noon - 3pm or so, but were seated immediately upon walking in at ~2:30pm. The place had a lot of seating inside and is bigger than it looks from outside. We got straight to ordering protein options shortly after getting seated. You can access the menu using a QR code on each seating booth. We went for the basic all you can eat on the menu ($27/person) and were started off with thin slice pork belly (simple but tasty), spicy pork belly, seasoned lamb, shrimp, also had the beef bulgogi and Sichuan beef steak. I enjoyed the beef brisket, pork belly and Sichuan beef steak the most. The owner also stopped by and also brought us the garlic chili beef brisket from the premium menu, which was delicious and well seasoned. All of the proteins appeared and tasted fresh. The all you can eat also came with s'mores which hubby tried and enjoyed - I was quite full at that point. The ambiance was nice with a shuffle of pop music in the background, and our waiter (Steven, I think) was really attentive and stopped by multiple times to ensure things were going well. We had heard about this spot after the owner reached out on Yelp and offered us a discount, so, if this is the case for anyone else just make sure to present this message/discount so that it is reflected in your bill. I had mentioned and showed this message to the owner upon our arrival but needed to remind her of the discount and invitation after it was left out of our bill. Other than that, everything went well and I recommend that you stop by to support a local business in the Rockville area.

Was feeling hangry because I had planned on stopping at Hard Times for a bowl of chili -and found out they were closed on Mondays. So, pretty much pulled a name out of a hat and would up at Chuan Tian Xia because, well, Szechuan cooking uses chiles, no? Yesssss! I ordered Signature Dumplings and a bowl of Beijing-style Beijing-style Zhajiang Noodles. The dumplings were outstanding: a mix of shrimp, pork, and chive that were plump, juicy, fragrant with the herbaceous flavor of chives. The accompanying sauce was not too sweet, not too hot, just right as a complement to the dumplings. Yowza. I was a happy camper... ...and then I dug into my noodles. Double yowza! Thick wheat noodles topped with a rich sauce made from (I think) fermented soybean paste and braised pork belly, garnished with cucumbers. The portion was way to big for me to eat after my flight, but I really, really enjoyed it (and the remaining dumplings) for lunch today. Did I say yowza? I'm an adventurous eater so the menu's less Americanized items were what I would have ordered given more time (like Maoxuewang: can you say "pig's tongue, spam, pork intestine, and beef tripe"? Protein is protein, baby!). Just means I need to come back, and I will, as quickly as I can.

It's usually packed with Asian folks who come for A&J's dim sum-style food. The food is described as "Northern style" Chinese, and it's definitely not Americanized. I've eaten many a bowl of noodles here, but my favorites are the Dan Dan Mian (with hot spicy sesame sauce and peanuts) and Xue Cai Ro Si Mian (shredded pork and mustard green noodle soup). I've also enjoyed Ma La Er Si (sliced pigs ears with hot and spicy seasoning) and Pi Dan Dou Fu (tofu with Thousand Year Egg) - things I doubt will EVER show up on a menu in my hometown. And the dumplings: oh my. I think I've tried them all, and haven't found one yet I wouldn't order again. The only downside to A&J (besides it being a drive for me) is their cash-only policy. Fortunately there are lots of nearby ATMs, but beware if it's your first visit. Prices are very reasonable and portions are perfect, so overall value is great. If you haven't been, go now, and work your way through the menu. Trust me, you'll thank me!

I have kept this place in the back of my mind, with fond memories, however, have not visited in some years due to multiple moves around the country. Recently, my friend was organizing a casual gathering for our friend group, and asked ChatGPT if there were any good recommendations for food in the area that was affordable and delicious, and A&J came up as a top choice. So I came back to A&J after almost 10 years, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The decor remained simple and unchanged, but this is very typical of Asian restaurants. The menu was large, and it's easy to order by circling items you want on the paper menu. We had a mix of noodle soup bowls (so many different flavors and styles) and appetizers, and everything we tried was delicious. Our bill came out to less than $25 per person with tip. I could imagine more pretentious Chinese restaurants downtown upcharging a lot more for lower quality Chinese food (Queen's English, for example). It was so good and affordable, that I actually ended up coming back the next day with a different friend. Overall, excellent experience, and I will be back again soon! One interesting tidbit, my coworker who grew up in the Midwest and only eats meat, potatoes, absolutely no vegetables, started going here for lunch and loves it. I think flour-based items (noodles, dumplings, buns) are really the star of the restaurant, and this can be enjoyed across different taste palates! I hope you will give this place a try.

We arrived right when they opened around 11 AM on a weekend and were seated immediately since it wasn't too busy yet. One thing to note is that the entire party needs to be present before being seated, which they enforce, but it helps keep things moving smoothly once you're inside. The service felt traditional and efficient, with attentive push carts circulating constantly, making it easy to see what's fresh and grab dishes as they come by. The staff were also accommodating with a baby seat, which made the visit comfortable for families. The steamed cart is always my favorite, and Far East does it well. Standouts for me were the shrimp rice crepe (silky and delicate), shrimp dumplings (har gow) with plump, juicy filling, and the steamed ribs, which were tender and flavorful. The chicken feet and tripe were also well prepared -- classic dim sum staples done right. I also loved the sticky rice, which was fragrant and satisfying, along with two must-order bakery items: the pineapple buns and egg tarts. Both were fresh and comforting, with the egg tarts having that perfect balance of flaky crust and smooth custard. Overall, Far East delivers a solid, traditional dim sum experience -- lively carts, reliable favorites, and a welcoming environment for groups and families. Great spot to gather, share dishes, and enjoy a relaxed weekend dim sum meal. Definitely glad to have seating back again.

Far East is a longtime staple in the DMV food scene, having been in operation since 1974. I was a few times a year patron leading up to 2019, and the last time I was there was in 2023. During my 2023 visit, the place was showing it's age with dingy matted carpeting and cramped dining room. Against my better judgement, I made the trek into Rockville to meet up with some folks for Sunday dim sum. IMHO, while it's true at one point, VA dim sum was inferior to it's MD siblings across the river, I'd say there are plenty of comparable if not BETTER places in VA. Our group was large (15), so we had to dine at two tables, as the largest table could only accomodate12. And note, for dim sum, Far East does not seat incomplete parties, so everyone arrive early. Also note, if you do choose to dine here, the parking lot is fairly small - but there is additional parking towards the back past the dumpsters. My recollection from 2023, was the selection of dishes was quite limited, and the 3-4 ladies who were pushing the steam carts, were peddling the same items over and over. That experience has not changed in 3 yrs. Upon sitting, our hungry group ordered dishes of shrimp dumplings (har gow), shumai, tofu rolls, rice rolls w/shrimp and beef, etc. Everything was fine; but nothing really stood out. The items were lukewarm, and cooled within a few minutes of being passed around the Lazy Susan. To me anyway, I found many of the dishes to be underseasoned...and when does a person characterize Chinese food as not being SALTY enough? The table chili oil was also quite bland. There was a good mix of fried chilis combined with oil, but there was just a hint of spice/heat with the predominant flavor being a heavy greasiness. Perhaps the worst part of the experience was the service. Even accepting that Chinese restaurants are notorious for "providing" legendary bad service, Far East exceeded that reputation. I understand that it was Sunday and the place was busy, but it took over 10 minutes for water and tea to arrive. And a few times, I literally had to get up from the table to flag down servers to refill empty water glasses and tea pots. Piles of dirty dishes kept piling up to the point where a few of us, took them to the bussers and food runners ourselves to make space for new dishes at the table. However, the worst incident was at the end when the servers and what I assume was the manager, rushed us to pay the bill since they needed the table, one of the staff was hurriedly cleaning the table, and spilled an entire glass of ice water on my friend's dress! He didn't even apologize, and when she went to complain to the manager, the only thing he said was, "it's only water, it will wash out." Wow! even by Chinese restaurant standards, that's bad!!! When the bill arrived, the total came out to roughly $35/person with tax and tip (gratuity is already included for larger parties, so be sure to double-check the bill). The meal was definitely NOT worth the $35, and for that amount, I could've had a much better and filling meal at Peter Chang Herndon - https://www.yelp.com/biz/peter-chang-herndon?osq=Peter+Chang This will undoubtedly be the last time I travel to Montgomery County for dim sum...and especially to Far East Restaurant.

While the wrappers aren't as thin or chewy as the very best, you can tell they're handmade, and I'll always appreciate that. I'd recommend sticking with the pork soup dumplings since they were rich, savory, and full of umami. The crab version unfortunately didn't have any noticeable crab flavor and tasted almost identical to the pork. The duck came in a generous portion and is a great choice for anyone who enjoys sweeter flavors. The watercress was fresh and plentiful, but it could have used much more garlic. We ended up adding the wonton chili oil and dipping it for extra flavor. The cucumber was delicious, but the portion was way too small. The bean curd was cooked well, though there wasn't enough pork for a dish that was supposed to feature it. The fish was another highlight with light spice, a crispy exterior, and perfectly cooked, tender meat. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.
