Hank's hosted a great show from the "Oxymorons" followed by the headliner "The Thangs" and it was a show! Intimate and perfect for dancing and drinking beer! Glad they are back from the Ashes!

Always enjoy the music and atmosphere there. They keep a tavern ambience. Go there for the music and friendly atmosphere - laid back Happy Hour. Decent beer selection. I would suggest the tavern to replace the high top table chairs (felt like the seat was pushing you out..but maybe that was to get you out on the dance floor?).

Cozy and unique spot in this neck of the woods. Good beer selection; food's nothing special--chips & salsa and sandwiches. Show up for the music but be early. Seating's limited and only one person was working the bar, switching the kegs and serving the food (tip well!). The menu's electronic and it's on the wall, so you'll either have to position yourself advantageously, or yell over the music and hope the order's correct. (It usually is, but not always. Roll with it.) As others have noticed, it's a friendly crowd, which makes a big difference in the vibe with a place this size. They rigorously maintain their events calendar, so keep an eye on it and you'll find something to like. Support the small guys!

Awesome night with good people enjoying good live music with Paulie Boy Blues Band doesn't get much better. Real slice of Maryland and Americana! I will definitely be returning.

This is a really nice little establishment on Rockville Pike for good local music. It was easy to park when we got there (shared lot with Java Nation), and the staff were very friendly when we arrived. Their shows are posted online, and you can check which shows have covers or not there, and we chose a show with a $10 cover. It was easy to find a seat, but it gets busier as it gets closer to the time for the headliner's performance. They have a kitchen as well as beer, which is open until midnight, but we just got a couple of brews. They have both cans and beer on tap, and I was able to get a couple of local beers for $7 each. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, since it has a rather unique vibe, but it seems like Hank's has a healthy crowd of regulars and the music was really quite good.

Hank Dietle's Tavern famous cold beer sign is on again!

Hank Dietle's Tavern is serving cold beer again! When a devastating fire in 2018 put this bar out of commission, the longest running bar in Montgomery County (and it's first liquor license) was no more. Alas, after three years and lots of struggles faced with great determination, Hank Dietle's is open again since Friday, July 24, 2021. The tavern offers live music and drinks, and the new owners have even added a small menu. It's a fun little place, and I'm so glad that its sign is lit again!

The atmosphere here is great and I love how there's a DJ playing. Theres TV's everywhere plus they have a huge screen in the middle so it's great for watching the games. I only tried the Philly egg rolls which were served nice and hot. They were very delish in my option and crispy too!

I will give a balanced review though because there was good and bad. I'll start with the good: Throughout the night on a very busy night I will see if you were seated at the bar they made an effort to be very attentive to folks standing there. Also despite the rush of customers by 8p for the 9p game the staff at the bottom bar maintained a pleasant disposition. There are ample televisions and televisions outside for large sporting events. So even if you do not get a seat you will be able to see the event. Also I had a chance to speak to the manager as I was looking for seats that would allow me to enjoy the game and he was helpful in explaining my options. The not so good: I had reservations at 645p in hopes of watching the 9p game. Now I understand they have a two hour limit per table but there is a way to communicate that. I had an unfortunate interaction with the host staff as I checked in. One staff member immediately was like I see you have reservations but if you are staying for the game you'll have to leave before it starts. I was trying to ask about alternative options (such as moving to the bar) and they just were like you'll have to go. Not very welcoming. So at that point I ran into the manager who patiently explained options. He was a little more customer service oriented. Also my friend came looking for our reservation and reported they were rude to her as well. Next. It was the hottest day of the year yet and the air conditioning was definitely not working. I with many other patrons spent the evening sweltering. The folks outside in the heat were more comfortable Next I arrived around 630 for the 9 game . Around 730 folks at the bar asked if they could change the tv to the pre show for the World Cup match everyone was there for. They refused. That was disappointing for folks who were there to watch. Also during half time, instead of letting folks hear any of the half time analysis they switched it to music and their own restaurant programming. Finally the drinks were good but the food I had personally: the wings were meh. My review is I would return but not for a premier sports event. Definitely not during this World Cup. It's a sports bar but as a real football fan I would prefer to go somewhere that caters a little more to soccer fans specifically.

I've been coming to this location since it first opened, and the quality has really gone downhill…read more I've regularly eaten sushi all my life, and this is the only location where I've found fish bones and scales in my food. One time there was nigiri made with stale rice, but at least that only happened once. I've had scales in the sushi a couple of times, and the bones have appeared at least three or four times. As far as the quality of the fish goes, it seems pretty hit or miss. I used to really enjoy the extra fatty tuna before I had a particularly bad order, and then I never bothered getting it again because it's a pricey order. The cuts also do not seem to be as generous as they once were. I've continued to give this place a chance because most of the servers have been very pleasant, and I've had some nice memories here. But last week I was at this location for a celebration, and we had sushi with both fish bones and a scale attached. The sushi with the bones was comped, but the sushi with the scale was not. I think I've hit my limit with this location. I'm also surprised that they don't seem to have taken better precautions against fish bones appearing in their sushi given that this has happened multiple times. As much as I've enjoyed coming here, I'm tired of having to wonder about whether or not I'll find something in my food again. Like I said, this is literally the only sushi restaurant that I've ever been to that I've had these issues with, let alone consistently. There are other places in the area that are worth going to if you're after sushi.

Thank you to Caruso's Grocery for hosting my granddaughter's 16th birthday dinner. A huge shout out…read moreto Patrick, the event coordinator from Caruso's who helped me in every aspect of planning this special event. The food was delicious. The group was given a choice of appetizers: meatballs, basil and tomato caprese salad, dinner salad, or garlic bread. Each of the appetizers were better than the next. The girls shared the meatballs, garlic bread, and caprese salad. Thank you to our server for bringing out gluten free bread for one of our guests with a gluten allergy. Our main dishes was the shrimp scampi, which was full of flavor and so tasty. There were several of us who ordered the shrimp scampi and you could hear a chorus of oohs and aah's. We loved every bite. I am pleased to share that Caruso's has gluten free pasta for guests with gluten allergies. And, the gluten free pasta was scrumptious. The birthday girl had chicken parmigiana and a side of spaghetti. She really enjoyed her meal. Another, guest had the penne pasta and she loved hers too. There portions were very generous. We also had a guest order the Caesar salad with shrimp. It came out with dressing, when the dressing was supposed to be on the side, but our waiter was quick to remedy that. The ambiance is lovely and reminds me of my grandmother's home in Little Italy. It is old world Italian with comfortable seating. I know it was a busy night, but the one fly in our ointment was our server. There was too much of a lag between courses, and main dishes came out of the kitchen at different times. Also, our gluten free guest had to sit and watch while others ate cake because her ice cream sundae was no where to be found. It finally made it to the table, but I felt badly for this young lady. I know our server was swamped with guests. Hopefully, next time a large party is on the schedule, they can lighten the load for that server. All of the girls had a good time including the birthday girl. So, I am reminded of the saying, it all works out in the end. Thank you, Caruso's.

The women's room had two stalls (and the accessible stall had a diaper changing table), but only one sink! Luckily that was not a concern during our lunch visit. Fries, crispy, there is a crunch in every bite, topped with parmesan cheese and parsley, it is pretty good for something to snack on. The Guinness on Draft is surprisingly extremely smooth and was very enjoyable; I would get it again! My friends got the poutine and I'd say after sampling it, it's great.
