I used to come here every time I got a flat, however this last experience has forced me to never come to this business. They scratched up my rims and wheel lock after repairing a flat. When I brought the issue up, the manager blamed me for the scratches, saying I was just brushing the brake dust off the rim to reveal old scratches. Horrible manager, asked for his name and he looked back and just walked off. Horrible experience and customer service, manager seems to have no experience dealing with damaging a customer's vehicle. I came in to get new tires -- and when the job was finished & I left, the car's left front corner made a lot of noise. It was super frustrating, because my day was packed with work appointments, and it meant canceling a job and returning to the shop. The manager initially responded with skepticism: "We only replaced your tires." (I don't know if it was because I am female, or if he is just always defensive?) But a thoughtful mechanic named Bruce put it back on the rack, listened carefully, and diagnosed a problem with the thin backing plate. The noise (and, hopefully, the problem) is gone. read more

Salesperson at the front desk swore up and down that my vehicle is an AWD vehicle despite me knowing its FWD and all my owners info showing it as FWD. After they successfully got me to buy a whole new set of tires, I asked the guy if my VIN really showed as AWD and not FWD, when he pulled up my vehicle this time his quote was "My mistake, it is FWD" and did not offer to refund me or give me any sort of discount after suckering me in to buying a whole new set of tires off his bad information. I brought my car here to wheel works a little while ago. Stephen, the manager said I need a new struts and that's why my car was squeaking. I let him do the work and got in the car for a test drive afterwards. The car still squeaks so I approached him and asked him if he put on bad struts, he looked at it and said no your struts aren't the problem you're bushings are. I told him. Well. That's not what you quoted me for when you found out that the struts were bad. This guy I missed diagnosed my car and I had to pay a lot of money for nothing. Thanks Steven. I had to put my boyfriend on speaker phone to get the communication I needed. The worst thing that happened was one of the guys took off the Tow Hook Eye Cap from my front bumper -- probably because they didn't like me-- and when I noticed it was gone they said they had no idea why. Our van had flat tire and we changed into spare tire and brought to this MV wheelworks. When they tried to unscrew the locks, the technician broke the lock stud. They called me I had to change the whole lock set, which is additional $185. The manager Alex told me it was over-screwed when the spare tire was put in. So it is breakable easily. I told Alex we will be there in 5 mins to take a look. When we arrived, the whole new tire was already placed on, leaving one hole (broken lock, see picture in red circle). We questioned Alex why the tire was placed and screwed in if we are coming to check? He said it is ok to drive away with one lock missing and that's why the new tire was placed in. I asked what if we do want to get it fixed, does the technician has to unscrew the 4 locks? The sequence of the work and the whole story does not match. We felt that the lock was broken when the technican tried to screw the 5th lock in when placing in the new tire and broke it. Alex kept saying that it was broken due to the lock was screwed too tight when the spare tire was put in by us. Hello?? Shouldn't we be notified when it was broken and left the scene for us to check (I told him we were 5 mins away and will be there right away)? Why the was new tire placed in already when I checked? Also, does customer need to pay for the misconduct by the technician? The persons in this store are dishonest. I will suggest to be careful with this store. This manager, Alex, will need to go. I scheduled an appointment at Wheel Works for 2 new tires and an oil change in November 2022. After leaving, I noticed that oil was dripping from my car. I took it back to them less than a week later and they told me that there was a valve leak and that I needed to replace my rack and pinion. The valve leak was small so I took it to my trusted mechanic who pointed out that Wheel Works must have cracked the housing for the oil filter since oil was pouring out of it. Also, that there was nothing wrong with my rack and pinion which would have cost me $1,600 per their quote. I had lost all trust in Wheel Works due to their misdiagnose of my vehicle and had my trusted mechanic do the work. Wheel Works denied any wrongdoing as well as the misdiagnosis. Instead, I had to pay the other mechanic for their mistake. I would suggest thinking twice about having anything done to your car by a company whose business is selling tires, especially if they mess up a simple oil change. read more

I visited the store for a "free brake check" as advertised on the website. I had scheduled in advance and traveled there on a workday. When I got there and asked if the brake inspection is free, they told me it's free if I get a brake job done, else it's $10. I told them that it's not written on the website anywhere and asked the guy to show me where the $10 fee is specified. He told me that he can't find it written anywhere but that's how it is. After looking at the car, Stephen let me know that he thought the issue was unusual enough that I should bring it to the dealer. I would give a zero star review if it was available. I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. I bought the lifetime alignment with wheel works, & Note this is a brand new truck with brand new tires. I left work two hours early so I can make the appointment at 2:30 my truck sat in the parking lot till 4 o'clock. I was told that it would take an hour. A little after 4 PM my truck was still in the parking lot hasn't moved. When I got my truck back they were closing shop as I was driving home it had a strong pole to the right and whenever I got on the freeway it had a serious vibration, the whole truck shook as I was driving down the freeway. Two days later I had an appointment for my oil change At the dealership and asked the guy to put it on the rack find out what they did to my truck & they said the front tires were never balanced and the alignment was so far off they were amazed and told me that whoever did this did not know what they were doing. I don't know how Wheel works are going to change my mind about doing business with them. They said they were going to call me with the regional manager and the other manager was supposed to get a hold of me within 48 hours they never did they said they called me but they never did I left emails they never emailed me back only one email from Ashley and I have not heard from her in over a week. Just took my car in to have a broken lug nut on my tire removed and STEVEN told me no. Before he even looked at it he had taken the stand that it was going to take to long and he was not going to do it. I have been coming to wheel works for over 20 years and at this location I have been let down so many times that this time was the last. Everyone I talked to said taking the nut off was easy and that in the automotive world it is a very common issue, but for STEVEN it was a no. Even after I made the appointment and specifically said the resin for brining it in was to have that fixed made no difference, it was a waste of time and it's my fault for being a loyal customer. These guys Alex and Kevin think that they are "good" salespersons and catch customers:), they are wrong. Yes they received this $200 but they lost a loyal customer. Never had a problems with previous workers in this location, they were always open and honest, recommended some services, tried to find some coupons or discounts, especially for seniors. But looks like they (old workers) did "work" well for Wheel Work, did not made enough money, did not properly caught customers for money and some unnecessary services and overcharged customers. 100% scam shop, female customers beware of Stephen. Lied and told me my tire could not be fixed due to fix-a-flat and sold me a $300 new tire. Then told me they could not put the new tire on because AAA stripped the bolt and they wanted $220 to fix the bolt. We called AAA to complain about stripping the bolt, they advised to take the car to the dealership. At the dealership we learned that a tire can easily be patched with fix-a-flat (but out old tire which was in good shape was now taken by this scam shop) and that replacing a bolt cost $125. I really dislike this location. I scheduled generic maintenance work to be done over a weekend, was told it would be done before Monday, but that was delayed to Monday due to some business. As it turns out I didn't actually get my car back until Weds evening. At that point they had done some things I hadn't explicitly signed off on, leading to a bill that was about 10x higher than I was expecting for a simple top off of fluids and check, but I rolled with it because I just wanted to get out of there. I drove it home and immediately noticed a noise coming from my newly re-tired rear wheel-- not sure what the exact issues was but it was definitely misaligned and had to be taken back yet again to be fixed. What an aggravating waste of time and huge waste of money. For the record all of this work was done in late 2017, but I'm writing this review now because a friend has gotten work from them a few days ago, and asked specifically for a certain part to be replaced. Friend is going back yet again because even though he was charged for the part, the old part is still clearly on the car (it was visibly damaged in a unique way; they clearly didn't replace it at all). I warned him against going but now he's wasting more time having to go get that fixed. It's ridiculous. How can you actually verify they do the work they say they do, and charge you for?? This review is for my most recent visit and I have to be fair, in that this time around, about a month ago (May of '16), I had no problems working with WW. When installing a new set of tires prior to this visit, I bought their warranty $15 per wheel. That includes balancing and rotation for the life of the tire. Used it recently to fix a flat caused by a nail - posted a pic of my zero invoice - that was nice and sweet! Your experience at any WW location largely depends on who you're dealing with on that particular day and their general state of mood, the time of day, and many other factors, including issues that may or may not arise. For the life of me, I cannot give them five stars based on many previous bad experiences, and I mean truly horrible stuff. Not to mention the amount of times I've witnessed others dealing with luck of communication, bad service, bad attitude, and just plain unprofessional behavior pertaining to their core bottom line - tires! read more

I went to the location to get my brakes changed and found out I needed a wheel alignment and new tires, spent $900 that day....2 Weeks later my brakes were squeaking again and wheel was shaking worse than before. Business practice doesn't smell right in the tire shop. Last week, I brought my car tire and wheel to WheelWorks (Mountain View) for a flat repair. I could see a nail in the bottom thread area of the tire; clearly in need of repair. After dropoff, an hour or so later, a rep called and said there is not one, but two holes in my tire, located too close to each other to repair. He the only solution is to get a new tire, priced about $180. I said I'd like to think about all this, something didn't smell right. I called him back and asked him to fix one of the two holes and have the tire ready for pickup. He said no, he cannot do that, it is against the law to do so. He did not offer to patch from the inside (a lesser-used but viable option). I asked again said he will not do that and I need a new tire. Finally, he agreed to fix one of the two holes in the tire after I told him I will use the tire only as a spare. He patched only one hole (using the more common outside plug) and returned the wheel and tire to me. I paid $30 for the flat fix. Here's what get's my attention and why I am writing this review. I put the repaired wheel and tire back on my car, thinking I'll find a shop that patches from the inside. I checked the tire pressure every other day. Pressure was holding firm, there was no loss of pressure. I've been driving for weeks. There is no leak, no loss of pressure. There is no second hole or other leak in the tire. Seems to me there was no second hole in the tire - ever. Motive seems to be sell a new tire, $180 sale or a $30 flat fix. They have lost my business. This is why I gave one star. read more

I brought my Nissan Quest with a flat tire. The guy who received it -Stephen-, was so attentive and helpful. He explained to me the reason why they wouldn't be able to repair my tire. Apparently if the nail is on the side of the tire is no viable to fix.
