I tell the guy lets just do 2 tires. they are in bad shape mind you. he says to me that will cost $260.00 i was like noooooooo. but then said ok. he says you know, i cant live with my self knowing that one of your other tires is in bad shape how about 3 tires for 270.00 (i swear this guy insulted my intelligence) I agreed, im not sure if this was a deal or he made it seem like one. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt that he actually gave a damn.. Thankfully, I came in one lazy Saturday morning and met Moe. I had been having my tires filled weekly because the dash light had mysteriously been popping on. I had taken the car to other shops and they had reassured me that the tires were in stellar condition. Moe gave me a free tire inspection. He asked noticed that one particular tire was slightly low and asked me to do something very interesting. He actually asked me to drive the car super slow while he watched the tire. He sat on the ground precariously close and was able to see a piece of metal that had embedded itself so deep in the tire that it was completely unviewable unless you performed this unique experiment. Had Moe not done this, I would have taken a long drive in the car for the holidays and could have been stuck on the side of the road. I am so thankful that he did. Within an hour, he had me out of there with a repaired tire. No other shop I had taken the car to could find the issue. I am very grateful. It stuck into the wheel axle and almost resulted in a fatal accident on a freeway due to loss of control of the steering wheel. The axle was damaged and the boot was leaking. Even worse, the store manager argued that I could continue to drive the car without any repair. I requested replacing the damaged axle with manufacturer's parts at a dealer. He refused to pay for it. At the end of many attempts to resolve the problem, the store manager coldly responded with "go ahead to file a lawsuit." Such fatal negligence could happen to other customers again and again, and Wheel Works seems not care about the risk to the customer's life. Better be prepared to file lawsuits. read more

Very very poor customer service!!!!! Not recommended !!!!! I made an appointment , and when I went their they told me that I don't have appointment. Never use Wheel Works. Their motto should be, " If you got the money, and you're willing to be taken to the cleaners, then we got the time." Went in for a TPMS monitor install ( this is the valve stem that monitors tire pressure). By the time they had added all the "necessary procedures" , the bill had risen to over $275! Plus I had to leave car for 6 hrs! The "tire technicians " (?) Were standing around laughing at each other and not even working. This is a simple install that requires depressurizing the tire, removing old stem, mounting new one and re pressurized tire. If you mark tire location on rim, you don't even need to rebalance. I told them I could even do the sensor calibration myself. I took it to a private business and they did it for $20 / tire and had it done in 30 minutes. Why people go to corporate businesses is beyond me, unless of course they are uneducated in what they want and want to be B.S.ed by someone that barely knows more than them. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 to get two flats fixed and a tire rotation. I arrived at 10:00. I was told that the car would be ready at 3:00. I told them that I had a 1030 appointment and the manager (Stephen) said that making an appointment does not assure you car would be worked on at that time. I asked what advantage Is there to making an appointment. He said they were short a couple of technicians. I told him that it was not my problem. I asked if he made an appointment for a doctor or dentist you would expect to be worked on at the time of the appointment. What is his definition of appointment? I tossed my keys on the counter and he said I threw the keys at him and then refused service. I left and drove to (Ace Tires), they immediately took my car and fixed both flats and rotated the tires in less than thirty minutes. Excellent service at Ace. I went back to Wheel Works and told the manager that the other shop serviced my car in less than thirty minutes and he should learn how to treat a loyal customer. TL;DR: Stephen and Ashley are running a scam, take your cars somewhere else. For details, read below. I have been going to Wheel Works for sometime and have had good experience. But the last one was terrible! I went in for regular maintenance, they called me saying that the coolant was low and I approved the coolant service. When I took my car back, the AC heat was not working. So, I brought the car back the next day and they were not able to figure out - said to come the next day when the "experienced mechanic" is back. I went again the next day - the mechanic said something related to equipment not being there and take it to dealership since the car would be under manufacturer's warranty. I understood and took it to the dealership on the next available appointment. At the dealership, they diagnosed the problem. First of all, the coolant was low (surprising since I did the coolant service!). Secondly, they used blue coolant which is not compatible with the current Subaru car (whatever that means!). Anyway, they did the coolant service again and charged me for the service and diagnosing the issue (I am out 700 bucks now!) - since it was not manufacturer's defect and was because of the coolant service done at Wheel Works! Now, the AC heat works and all is good with the car. Next, I went to talk to Wheel Works regarding the issue - since I lost 700 bucks now because of their inability to do the service, break my car and causing me stress over a period of a week. Here, I meet Stephen - I have not interacted with him at all till now - I explain the issue, and he did not even try to talk to his mechanic or the other front-desk guy (with whom I have interacted extensively over the last 3 days). He thinks he understands the problem and does not even own up the responsibility of breaking my car. He agreed to return the 150 bucks that Wheel Works charged for coolant service and told me that Ashley (his manager) will call me to talk to me. I did not get any call from her. To be honest, I was disappointed with such an experience, at the very least, I was expecting him to have a humane attitude and listen to my problem - but clearly, he was not interested. I used to like this place, and did my car maintenance regularly at this location. It became worst when the Manager took off due to his back pain. I stopped going to this place when this incident happened - I gave my Dodge Challenger in for an Oil change & wheel alinement. They called me later for a pickup, and soon as I walked towards my car, I realized there was a big greasy scratch which had the break dust and there was an other small scratch which only had a break dust. I called the service advisor and showed the scratches which wasn't there when I gave the car. It was obvious that they scratched the car in their workshop as the scratch was greasy and had break dust all over it. The guy rubs off the break dust in front of me, which was on the small scratch and claimed there was no break dust, and we did not scratch it!! Bro really..WTH? Later he gets a scratch detailer, rubbed the break dust and the big greasy scratch, and argues with me that it was not caused by them. It was totally obvious that they did this, the break dust was all over the back wheels and on the scratches, this guy was arguing with me that they did not do this?!! The guy wasn't admitting that they did it when it was obvious, at a point I was soo vexed up, they were not going to fix my car for what they did, what else can I do, except posting this review. I came in to ask for having a tire patched, but I was told that the tire can't be repaired and I need to buy 4 new tires. So I was about to leave and said " In that case, I will go to Costco to change tires because I purchased 4 tiers from Costco and have Costco's warranty. " The service advisor stopped me and told that Costco's warranty is not good which only lasts 2 years and is not as good as Wheel Works's and they have the exact type of tires for my car in store. As a customer, I trusted my service advisor's recommendation and never expected he would purposely giving wrong information just to trick me into transaction of buying 4 tires. My tires from Costco were bought 2 years ago but very new due to working from home since pandemic. I signed paperwork and purchased 4 news tires and warranty. Only when I came home out of curiosity I googled Costco tire warranty and the first search result jumped out is " All tires sold through Costco Wholesale are covered by a 5-year Road Hazard ". I contacted store manager and area manager about this and the only response I got was " Our service advisor did great job and gave the correct recommendation about changing 4 new tires for you, and you signed the agreement to authorize the work and got the four new tires. We can't see anything wrong here." No wonder service advisors in Wheel Works can do anything and lie about anything to mislead and trick customers for purchase. Went to get a patch on my tire that Had a nail in it. Came back to them telling me I need a whole bunch of service when I just came from the dealer the day before with everything fine. One thing they said was that the coolant was low. That was a lie because i checked it an hour before. Aswell as my hood has a dent with a scratch on it now. I took my car back to WW today, believing that it was possibly out of alignment--it seemed to pull to the left a bit on the freeway. When I returned at the end of the day, Rich and Will explained that there was nothing wrong, and perhaps I simply needed to get my tires rotated. I walked out with a zero charge invoice, with an accompanying wheel alignment and inspection printout. I read a lot of less-than-positive reviews of this place. Perhaps this is the truth for some people, but it's not my experience at all. These guys could have easily fudged a few numbers and charged me for another wheel alignment that I didn't need. Some garages would indeed do that. But, they were honest, straightforward, and told me the truth--my car was fine, and even though I had used perhaps 30 minutes of relatively expensive shop time, there was no charge. While I never thought I'd say that about a "grease monkey" auto repair franchise that my Porsche-mechanic dad taught me to inherently distrust, overall, I am consistently impressed with WW Mountain View. read more

I actually went here because there were some positive reviews by Yelpers, and I needed an oil change. They offered a diagnostic beforehand, so I told them to knock themselves out. I know that this is usually a precursor to lies, lies, lies, but I figured I'd test the waters since I was new to the area and needed a trustworthy mechanic. When they asked when I'd last had the car serviced, I played dumb, neglecting to mention that I'd had an acquaintance do a thorough inspection right before moving here and had fixed everything that needed fixin'. So, I dropped the car off and meandered over to Target. I was on my way to get some lunch when they call: "Well, I've got some bad news..." Mmmm hmmm. Seven-hundred dollars of recommended repairs that "shouldn't be put off." Of course, they can take care of it right now with my say so. Well, I gave him a say so, all right. I prattled off the detail of every tune-up and repair I'd had done in the past six months. He tried to play dumb: "Well, ma'am, I'm just relating what the mechanic found, I can ask him..." "Well, you can *tell* him that he, or you, or your boss, is a crook. I will be there to get my car in three minutes, and it better be out in the lot waiting for me." I turned right around and marched back in the store. The guy at the front desk who had called me was too chickenshit to come back out and face me, although I saw him peek out of a back room at one point. One of the mechanics came to ring me up instead and tried to charge me for the diagnostic. "Oh, hell no," I said. "No offense to you personally, because I don't know your role in this, but I am not paying you to lie to me. I was told my brakes needed replacing; they were serviced two months ago and they are fine." The guy looked down, kind of smirked, and held out my keys. He must know the racket. I've previously taken my car to this same Wheelworks, and had no problems. This time was different though! I had set up an appointment for 10:30 a.m. When I arrived a woman who had done a walk-in for getting some service was in front of me, and it took almost 15 minutes for the counter person Bernardo to process her. Finally he was ready for me. No smile, no "how are you?" just a very sour negative attitude. Then he checked me in and even though I had a prepaid price for installation, he tried to bump me up by $20 on that price. After a brief discussion, he agreed to honor the install price. He told me my car would be ready in an hour. I added a $20 oil change (using a coupon). When I came back after an hour they hadn't even started on my car. I complained as I had another appointment, and Bernardo yelled at the service guys, who yelled back and said something like, "Don't rush us, safety!" In all, it took almost two hours for them to install 2 tires and change my oil! What's worse, I think they either let air out of the front tires (they rotated them from the rear) or at least did not check the tire pressure, because a week later my regular mechanic told me both tires were at 15 lbs., way lower than the normal 35 lbs. of pressure I keep them at. That's why they are getting only one star because of a safety failure. Overall I'm very glad that I didn't give them money for tires and instead bought from outside tire vendor. But given the unfriendly customer service, the slowness, and the failure to even properly inflate my tires, I would not recommend anyone use them. read more

Wheel Works is a one-stop auto shop located adjacent to Target and across from the Walmart/Trader Joe's Center on Showers Drive. My car needed its "annual" tire rotations and basic inspections. I was going to go to Costco ($17) or the dealership ($25), but I decided to give Wheel Works a ring because it was in the neighborhood. I spoke with Allen and he said Wheel Works would do the tire rotations and inspections for free! AMAZING! Apparently, Wheel Works is under new management (so Kevin, who is mentioned in several reviews below, is no longer with the company), and they are trying to further build their client base. I received great service and they were professional and efficient. If you're looking for a price point to compare auto shops, the price quote for a synthetic oil change (2.5 L) was $71. It's way higher than what I see in the ValuPak savings (e.g., ~$20 for oil and filter change plus free tire rotations and inspections). Overall though, I liked their service and I get to support the local shops too. read more

They claimed there was an issue with some equipment but they all spent the 3 hrs bunched up laughing and talking. Lots of upset people but it didn't seem to bother the employees at all. These guys used to be the place I went to for all my service needs because they were nearby and they looked legit. In terms of the customer service interaction, they're good guys and respectable - it's usually quite busy and the waiting area isn't the greatest place one would want to be, but none of this is why I'm giving a 1 star review. I'm giving a 1 star review because I discovered through a recent repair from another shop (MPG Auto Service, who are amazing btw) that Wheel Works applied silicone (which melts) to my brakes when I complained about brake noise... which by the way, the brake noise started very soon AFTER I got my brakes services/repaired at Wheel Works the first time. I lived with this noise because I was lazy and I just didn't have time or energy to go back.... but yes, clearly it wasn't done right the first time if they make noise right after. And my car has had nothing else wrong with it (quite literally, it's an AMAZINGly stable car). Nevertheless, I've been experiencing my steering wheel wobbling quite a bit when I apply my brakes, so that brought me to this other dealer who discovered that Wheel Works applied *silicone* which *melts* on my brakes instead of the lubricant/adhesive/chemical they were supposed to apply. My rear brakes in fact were so separated that they weren't even working, even though my brake pads that Wheel Works replaced were at 85%... but I'm mostly upset about the use of the silicone that melts from the head...the sticky, melted silicone had to be removed from the brakes and then their shoddy work had to be repaired by MPG Auto. I actually went to Wheel Works that morning to ask them to do the work but they were way too booked to take me - thank goodness I called around to someone else. I literally had to hound them every half hour because the mechanic kept just walking away from the car and refusing to work on it. The entire process took almost four hours. last week, i hit a sharp curb and blew out my rear tire, which was a major pain in the butt. to make matters worse, my car requires a certain brand and type of tire that is a bit harder to find. after calling several local area tire dealerships, my hubby was able to secure the tire we needed at wheel works, with an ETA of two days. he spoke to luis, whom he said was extremely helpful. true to their word, two days later (actually more like a day and a half), i received a call from wheel works stating my tire had arrived and that i could come in anytime to have it installed. i drove over, was greeted by victor, who asked me a few general questions, and handed over the keys. i was told that it'd be a 30-40 min job from the time i handed over the keys. once again, true to their word, about 40 min later, i received a call stating that my car was ready for pickup. when i walked over, victor told me that the new tire was installed successfully, however, he had some concerns about the car's alignment due to the nature of the flat tire. he offered me a complimentary alignment check, since he was concerned about the driveability of the car. i gladly obliged. another 45 min later, victor called to let me know that my car was ready and that my car passed the alignment check with flying colours. upon arrival, he gave me a computerized printout of the alignment check and what he looked for, and what the numbers meant. i was extremely pleased that my car passed alignment check and that i learned something new! in short, i had a great experience here, the guys took excellent care of my car and even went the extra step to check something that i did not request (or know to request). victor and luis were terrific and i highly recommend both of them. read more

Called ahead, was told to just come on in for my tire rotation and leak fix. I pumped up my tire and rushed over to the store. I gave them my keys and waited 2 and a half hours before they even took my car to the back. Why couldn't they have told me on the phone that there was a 2 hour wait? Why didn't they give me an appointment time? When I finally got my car back I asked what caused the leak, and guy1 told me he didn't know and I would have to wait for guy2 to finish what he was doing and ask him. I got some tires from Wheel Works tire chain and had a horrible experience. I bought the tires and had them mounted/installed by Wheel Works. Instantly with the new tires, my car severely wobbled and shook at higher speeds. The problem didn't exist before I got the tires. When I had people riding in my car or drove it, they all asked "what the heck is wrong with your car? The whole car and the steering wheel shakes when you drive it faster than 55mph" So, I brought my car back and told them about the problem. They re-balanced them and said they were fine now and sent me on my way. Problem still existed after the re-balance. After I told them again about the problem, they said it was the alignment. So I brought my car to my mechanic and they did an alignment. Problem still existed. Had them re-balanced 3 times by different Wheel Works with no solution to the problem. They kept saying everything is good and fixed. When I kept confronting them about it, they basically were saying it was in my head. Then fast forward 6 years. I needed new tires and went to a local shop. As soon as I got new tires, the wobble problems have instantly disappeared driving home with the new tires and the difference is like night and day. Car drives like new car. It is amazing how much difference the new tires installed correctly has changed the ride. The new tires are a much smoother ride and there is no wobble at higher speeds. So, either Wheel Works sold me defective tires that couldn't be balanced or they never balanced them correctly. I had to put up with my car wobbling and shaking for 6 years (the life of the tires was 40,000 miles). Also, all the time and money spent dealing with the problem. Bringing my car back to Wheel Works to have re-balancing, bringing it to different mechanics to try to solve the problem with no solution, money spent trying to fix the problem with alignments and look at the steering mechanics. It has been awful driving my car for past 6 years with the problems of those tires. To say the least, not happy about it. Never going to Wheel Works again. read more

If you just come there to change the tires, just change the tires. Don't let them upsell you! I've been upsold on 1) 109.99$ alignment @ 49K miles without actual need for it based on how car operates (no issues with tires/no issues with handling) 2) 49.99$ oil change. Because "it is dirty" (car had less than 2K miles prior to last change). I was too busy to rationalize and essentially my 80$ tire change became 240$ tire change with oil change and tire alignment that were absolutely unnecessary. As far as tire alignment - I even have paper from them showing that it was OK and it stayed OK after the alignment. I'll get back there for tire changes, but nothing else. read more

Needed a new battery so I called to see if they might carry one for my model/make car. The first person I spoke with was pleasant enough and then put me on hold as they went to go check the price. After my phone read 5 minutes of waiting; I thought he may have gotten sidetracked so I hung up and called back. A gentleman who I think identified himself as Rene picked up the second time and as I was asking if they might carry my battery; he hung up while I was in mid-sentence. I don't trust them. I will never go back to them. My car never leaked oil after oil change before. But after the oil change by this place, it kept leaking a lot and ruined my parking. Also alignment was not fixed; it still went to right. I brought it back for 2nd time in 3 days. A guy in the front told me that "unless a genius engineer find a solution, all local street will make your car to go right. Streets are made that way to drain water." --- amazing.... I've never heard of that, blaming streets. My other cars can drive straight why not this car, too? Other honda mechanic in Sunnyvale told me, he never heard of that excuse blaming on streets. And after 2nd time, oil still leaks. It got smaller leaks so I can wait for 3 days or so again to find time to bring my car to Honda mechanic in Sunnyvale to RE-DO IT. At the 2nd time, the young front desk guy was ok but attitude from system manager? was not helpful at all and furious one. I will never go back to this place wasting so many times to do just oil change and alignment correction. After all I have to take my car to another mechanic to do all that again!!! Only one good thing is that, store manager was very business man like and listened to my complain in a diplomatic way. Otherwise, I was very close to file a complain to BBB. I cannot trust them. I used to be a regular Wheel Works customer, generally buying tires every few years for various cars I owned. But my last experience with Wheel Works left me with a sour taste and I'll neve go back. I had a flat on the freeway, I pulled over as fast as possible and changed the spare. on the way home I stopped at Wheel Works to get the flat fixed, but was met with a wall of fine print. First the rude woman at the counter told me the tire was damaged beyond repair and I'd need to buy a new tire. I then asked about the level of wear and she told me the tire was worn out afterall. So I brought up the fact that I was only 28000 miles into a 40000 mile warranty, but do you know what the rude woman said? I didn't get my tires rotated at Wheel Works! I get my oil changed elswhere, and rotate the tires there or in my own. but this didn't matter to Wheel Works. I will NEVER buy from them again!! read more
