This location is a bit shady, they added an alignment to our ticket that we didn't ask for. We (my boyfriend and I) went in to get a flat tire repaired, we ended up getting it replaced which was fine. Derek kept talking up their lifetime alignment plan, and was trying to make a deal with us anyway possible. They had already done the service! After declining the last time, he mentioned that "his guy" had to go home and may have not done it thoroughly. Then we firmly told him we were just going to pay for the tire he said that the alignment was done right but there is no warranty. It's my second run in at this wheel works that sent up red flags. Being hounded to get that lifetime alignment plan after declining several times is just bad customer service. Services rendered without consent feels like a bullying tactic, I don't feel like I should be made to feel like I owe money for anything I didn't ask for. Never again! I was assured they would able to do my brakes by the end of the day. I took the day off from work and brought my truck in early. I called at three and they hadn't even looked at it. I got a call at 5:15 saying that my truck was too heavy for the lift (which I assume is an excuse). When I came to pick up the truck no apologies, just a shrug of the shoulders. I had problems with them in the past but because I had an account and it was just brakes how hard could it be. I should have listened to my wife and gone to Brodies Tire. Like other posts here, very poor service at this Wheel Works location. I was asked to come at a specific time and told it would take 1h30m..... 3 hours later my car was still untouched! No one came over to give updates or explain. I left! If you wait in the waiting room long enough, you'll also overhear employees talking about how poor the staff and management is, and how people are thinking about quitting. Save that conversation for the back, where customers can't overhear! PS: They also try to add hidden fees, so don't expect the quote that you receive over the phone to be accurate. read more

Made an appointment for an oil change at 1:30 pm. They didn't even begin the oil change until 5:45 pm. what is the point of scheduling an appointment? Further, they didn't even apologize for how long it took and were short with me when it finally finished. New employees needed...ill be going somewhere else from now on. read more

This shop was recommended to me by Kango. I went in for maintenance and a tire check on April 29th 2021. Half the services they marked completed were never done. They may have checked my fluid levels, but they did nothing about them. Now I have no washer fluid, my brake fluid light is on, and I strongly suspect many of the things they marked done weren't. I called to complain, spoke to the service manager, and he kept telling me that the services were marked done, therefore they were. He also let me know that the people who did the service were no longer with the company. No offer to fix things, no compensation, nothing. I will never use another Wheel Works ever! read more

Long wait, sarcastic worker, but cheap oil change... I made the mistake of thinking I could just drive in and get my oil changed. I went in on a Saturday and was the 3rd/4th person in line. Derek H greeted me and asked me, "Do you have a question?" and I said, "oil change...?" He proceeded to say, "That's a statement" which made me upset. I felt it was rude and uncalled for. I continued to wait in line until a nice worker asked what I needed help with. I told him that I just needed an oil change and he told me the wait time, which was too long for me to wait. I mentioned causally that getting oil changes and tire rotations are all I need to take care of my car. I guess he took that as me asking for a tire rotation as well because the next day... I was written down for an oil change and tire rotation. My husband went back with me the next day, and again, we were the 4th in line. No one was at the front desk for a good couple of minutes. Then Derek H walks in and says hello, followed by, "I'll be with you in a while." That didn't sound like a quick wait to me. I sat down while my husband stood in line. Derek H didn't say anything smart to my husband, but I felt that his comments that day and the day before were sarcastic and unnecessary. It could just be me, but I don't want to deal with his personality in the future. Also, I would rather pay twice as much for the drive through oil stops, and not have to wait a total of up to 2 hours, between the lines and the actual wait. Positives: I will say that the hour quote time for our car was dead on and the oil change was only $21. read more

Do NOT trust this place!! I had an allignment and was told my tie rods needed replacement. They told me I had a 12 month warranty on the allignment so I could replace the tie rods and get it realigned. I replaced them myself and took it back for the allignment. The apt was totally sketchy. They took forever and finally said they would do it the following morning. The following morning I was told it was done right after opening. How can that be? Then the allignment report was EXACTLY the same as the previous one...?? The steering felt the same, not aligned since I did it by hand just to get the car from my house to the shop. I finally went to the Tire Source and found out the allignment was not done! Wheel Works is NOT REPUTABLE and the service person was very rude. I was a long term customer of Wheel Works, however they have fallen to the bottom of my list. I had a tire that had a nail in it and thus covered under Road Hazard. Our Petaluma shop told me they could not patch the tire and I would have to buy all new tires to fix the problem. I was told my Firestone Destination Tires were no longer available, they are not discontinued and I did manage to get one from another Wheel Works up the road. Great job Petaluma more training please! My patch was confirmed by a local independent tire dealer as very easy to do, and they suggested that the Wheel Works employee needs retraining immediately. Keep your hand on your wallet. I had a flat and as my tires were ready, I decided to go for replacements all round. Wheel Works found them for me just fine, but then they offered me a wheel alignment with that. And offered it again. And again, every time I talked to them. I declined on each occasion. When I went to pick up the car, the invoice had a charge for wheel alignment on it. I didn't bother asking if they'd done it. I have no idea. "Oh, gee, how did that get on there?" Went there to have my oil changed. Brought a coupon which they initially wouldn't honor because I wanted full synthetic instead of the El Cheapo oil. When I said I understood they couldn't offer me the El Cheapo price for the synthetic, but they could reduce the labor cost just the same, since it's no more difficult, they finally relented and adjusted the price. Annoying, but only 3 star annoying. What really killed my experience here was coming to pick up my truck and being told that my rear brake light was out. They quoted a hundred and fifty or so dollars for a replacement light and labor. I declined, said I'd take care of it myself, went home, and check this out. THE BRAKE LIGHT WIRE HAD BEEN CUT!! As in, cleanly severed and dangling from my truck's undercarriage. Now, even assuming some random vandal crawled under my truck and cut the wire before I brought my truck in, how the hell wouldn't the technician have seen the wires dangling while they were under there changing my oil?? I can't prove anything, but I can't help but suspect that they were trying to pull a fast one by taking the 30 seconds to re-wrap the wire, and then charging me for a new light and a half hour's labor. I have been a customer of this Wheel Works for 7 or 8 years. The people who work the counter have always been professional and helpful. They have made recommendations of tires that I have been happy with. They have also changed the oil and brakes, but each time, the mechanic made mistakes. The mechanic who changed my oil, put too much in which caused my already aged gasket to leak much worse. When I checked the oil level (on a flat surface and the engine was cold), the level was too high. This was a week or so after I had the oil changed so some of the oil had leaked out. When I had my brakes changed, the mechanic forgot to put a part back on, which they discovered months later when I had my tires rotated. I continue to see them for new tires, but will not have them do anything else to my vehicles. read more

We had gone to this Wheel works for years, or should I say, we were scammed at his Wheel Works for years. Shame on me. I was going to write a 3 paragraph review detailing the scams and near accident I almost had after they replaced two of my tires with their "commission of the month" tire brand, but instead I will just post that they contradict themselves to make more sales. When you catch them contradicting something they had previously stated, they accuse you of - and I quote- "not knowing what you are talking about". Not good customer service at all. Most inefficient service dept i have ever seen. So disappointing in the service the manager was rude telling me since I was a walk in customer it takes as long as it takes. My truck was on the rack for 2hrs for an oil change and tire rotation. By the way I am a repete customer who used to spend thousands a year in that shop. I will never go back. I ran over a screw and got a flat tire. After AAA changed my tire, I took the flat to Wheel Works in Petaluma to get the tire repaired. The staff at Wheel Works were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. It was too close to closing time for them to fix the tire that day (not their fault, it was a Saturday, and they were busy). I wouldn't recommend this shop at all. I arrived on an early Sunday afternoon needing a tire repair/replacement before I was able to head home to Sacramento, and before I could finish my sentence the guy at the counter completely cut me off and told me he couldn't help me, because they were busy. Mind you as we walked in you could visibly see multiple employees sitting down doing nothing. I witnessed him run the customer in front of me off as well who was a new business neighbor needing help. My husband and I, who are seniors, were stuck on the side of the highway with a shredded trailer tire. My husband can change a tire, but did not have the proper wrench. We waited over three hours for AAA, with nobody showing or even sent out yet. We decided to drive on our shredded tire a few miles to Wheel Works. We had never been there before. Brodi's (Petaluma) took care of it for a fraction of that cost (literally 25% of what WW quoted). What WW stated was wrong with my vehicle and needed replacement - was nothing but them trying to oversell what wasn't necessary. These guys are great! Being a female and not knowing much about cars I felt really comfortable with these guys and felt they were pretty honest with the work that needed to be done.I had bought tires from them in the past so they rotated them for me for free.I needed more filter work and brake work and they took care of this while I got my nails done across the street. They went above and beyond to help us, taking our full-size spare off and fixing the flat without charging. I have been here several times and for the most part they are always exceptionally polite and helpful. They will go out of there way to get tires for you, as in my case at one point they had to go to San Rafael to get a specific tire for me. There prices are reasonable, and they are always willing to help you out with other small repairs. The last time I was there one of the staff helped me put on new windshield wipers (no cost) The only thing I would say could be improved is the estimation of time to completion. If they have very few cars, everything gets done quickly. But at one point I got a quote of about 45 minutes and it took several hours. While I didn't have anything to do that day, I would not have stayed and waited had I known it would take as long. Overall, I would highly recommend Wheel Works in Petaluma. read more

Low tire pressure warning came on while driving a group of students to the Petaluma fairgrounds. Wheel works checked over the vehicle and determined that all the tires were fine but the sensor was faulty. They were nice enough to do all this without charging anything. read more

About to take a road trip down to LA and went to Oilstop to get oil and other fluids addressed. One of the techs told me that my tires were pretty bad on the inside, and that I should get them replaced. I drove across the street to Big O who told me that my tires were a special size, would cost $900 to replace the set of four and they could have it ready for me the next day. Called Wheel Works who not only had my tires in stock, but they did all four, including TPM valves and alignment for $600. And it was ready in about 90 minutes. I know the reviews are mixed for this Wheel Works location, but I have never had a bad experience here...in the past, I have gotten oil changes, tire rotations, etc. done here and have never had trouble. Most recently, my brake light and headlight went out at the same time...so on my only off day, I called over and spoke to Derek and asked if they had any last minute appointments. He said they were busy but that he could squeeze me in. I dropped my car off at 1245 and by 130 my bulbs were changed...couldn't really ask for more when I called the day of without an appointment. Overall, service was fast, friendly, and affordable. Derek is also the best to work with, so ask for him when you go in or call! read more

I blew out a tire while battling the potholes of Petaluma and brought my car to Wheel Works. I got 10% off for joining their email list and had the tire replaced for $80. It was the exact same price that I was quoted. The only reason I gave them 4 stars, instead of 5, is because they told me it would take about 30 minutes to replace one tire when -- in fact -- it took over an hour. read more

As an update to my previous review, I took the car to the dealership and I definitely DO NOT need brake pads or rotors. The person who recommended that either didn't know what he was doing or just are it up. In addition, I also DO NOT need expensive shocks. These criminals would have signed me up for thousands of dollars in unneeded repairs. It seems like they can't even handle a simple oil change and tire rotation. Had both tires I needed in stock, and promptly replaced them and got me back on the road and home in time for dinner. The manager on site and my service technician were fantastic. I love bringing my car here for tires! I'm getting ready to buy my second set of tires from Wheel Works Petaluma. The guys are great.- they are all very helpful and informative. One time I rolled in right before store closing after I left work- (my car battery had just enough juice to get to Wheel Works). I was in a position where my car was my only means for transportation. The guys stayed and replaced my battery. The tire rotations and patches are free through the life of the tires that you buy. The staff is great and work hard to make things right. The lady that was helping me and my wife was taking our information and being really nice and every time she asked the guy that was running the counter question he would be condescending, demeaning and rude to her.
