I scheduled an oil change appointment for 2pm my car didn't get seen till 4:30 then I got called to the office for them to tell me they couldn't get the oil filter off and that I'd have to leave it over night for them to finish it in the morning. I was very confused and disappointed then found out the person doing my oil change was about to be off at 5 and couldn't stay late to finish a simple oil change. Paid 38$ to waste my time went home and took the oil filter off myself i really laughed at how easy it was just needing a little muscle which I suppose the men at this auto shop lack. Oh my goodness, what a saving grace!! This was my first time at this particular wheel Works and I used to go to them before the pandemic but honestly I haven't had any work done on my car since. Turns out since I have a semi newer car. If you get a battery, put in, you can't just go to O'Reilly's and install it. They have to hook up your touchtone screen/radio to some sort of device. Otherwise, if you put a new battery in your car you can blow out your whole radio/touchscreen! I had no idea! The gentleman that helped me here I was able to call and get a battery and he wasn't busy so he was able to put my new battery in and reset the system in my touch tone radio and get me on my way in about 20 minutes!! He was honestly so fast I didn't have a chance to walk down the street to that delicious BB bakery!! I will definitely be back here since it was relatively cheap and they had the battery I needed! Plus the service/timing was great!! Location is amazing as well because it's walking distance to that delicious bakery down the street! They also have sandwiches and I drove to the bakery. This review is based on a telephone call. This was on a sunday afternoon. I called and asked if I needed an appt for what I that I thought was a nail in my tire. They said no but there would be a charge of I believe he said 30 dollars. I said oh ok, I didnt know there would be a charge and that Americas tire doesnt charge for a plug. I was told "yeah, well you could go there then". Ummm Ok, so I did the next day (AT is closed Sundays which is the only reason I called Wheel Works) and there was no charge and they were really polite and kept me updated while I was waiting. read more

They broke one of my studs off during an easy tire replacement and didn't want to be accountable for the replacement.General service practices are if you break it you fix it but the instead had the audacity to want to charge me $300 dollars for the repair when it wouldn't have been an issue in the first place if I haven't gone with them . On Nov. 8, 2024 I took my 2000 Ford Ranger to this shop for some inexpensive tires. I did purchase 4 new tires. Years ago I paid for a lifetime wheel alignment with Firestone which turns out to be the same company as Wheel Works. I requested the free alignment but was told they couldn't do it because I needed new tie rod ends, bushings and control arms. They also said I needed a fuel system cleaning, new brake fluid and a battery. The total parts and labor would be $3,121.69. Probably more then the truck is worth. This was a scare tactic. Today I took my truck to my ASE Certified mechanic who specializes in Fords. He's been servicing my truck for over 20 years and has a Yelp review of 4.7 with 87 reviews. He reviewed all Wheel Works recommendation's and concluded NONE of the work was necessary and there was no reason the alignment couldn't be done. It was all an up-sell. Came here to get an oil change-- month later my car says it's running low on oil and to put a quart of oil in immediately. I call back and the man on the phone says to bring my car in. I bring my car in and the employee puts in more oil in my car and asks if I've seen the car leaking. I haven't seen a leak anywhere but he says it might be low on oil after a month of an oil change because there's an engine oil leak somewhere. Well don't you think that's Wheel Works problem because my car was literally fine before that? I tell him that if there's an oil leak it has to be because of Wheel Works but it's my car's problem now and they're assuming my car always had a leak. I get my oil changed once a year and there has been no leaks or an immediate "low on oil" light after one month of getting one. Now I have to spend more money to get this leak fixed. Nice! read more

Would not recommend. I brought my vehicle in to have my battery checked due to an intermittent check engine light after having my battery replaced at another WW location. I had already gotten the code scanned and it noted that there was low voltage coming from the battery. I was told that I should have selected check engine light instead of battery when booking my appointment and that I should have listed more information in my appointment request. After going to 2 other WW locations, it was confirmed that the battery was installed incorrectly by the first location. Complete waste of time. read more

Heading out for a long drive to an out of town destination, check the tire pressure and one of my tire valves starts to leak, drive down to Wheel Works on Kiely Blvd. to get it fixed. Explain the valve leak to Bella the counter person, she immediately goes out to look at it, grabs a tire valve tool, loosens it and then re-tightens it, FIXED!!! Wow, how cool is that!! Easy fix, no charge, I am out the door in literally 4-minutes. That is customer service, I have found a better tire store. They saved my weekend, thanks Bella!! Mark was able to find the root cause for the front wheel noise. I went to multiple shops/dealers but they could not figure it out (didn't even try). This place is a total scam. Refuse to honor the warranty I have on my tires and cancelled my appointment minutes before. They would not even acknowledge us when we said we had a tire that was under insurance. Worst of all is the "manager" (Long Pham) who is there, standing in the office doing nothing. He was extremely condescending, spoke to me like I was a child just because I was a young woman (very slowly, emphasizing words, almost like I did not understand English), very aggressive, and rude. I got my car towed there for a simple battery change, while driving around just recently I noticed my AC does not work AT ALL and then I got an alert saying my coolant was low. My car engine also began to climb to dangerous temperature (260 F) and luckily I made it home to pop the hood to let it cool down. What I noticed horrified me. The battery swap they did was NOT properly secured AT ALL causing a piece of plastic near my air intake to fall and get caught between my radiator fans which led to the overheating issues. I called them visibly angry over how a simple battery swap led to a sequence of massive anxiety I haven't felt since being deployed to Afghanistan and they said "bring your car over so we can take a look at it." The Wheel Works on Kiely Blvd in San Jose is the worst. I took my car back there today, 05/26/2021 because of a tire weight they placed on my car was sideways and sticking out. The service guy there told me there was only one person doing tires!!! One person for the entire shop!!! He said I'd have to come back tomorrow and I would need an appointment. I drove my car to American Tire on Brokaw Road in San Jose. They received my car as soon as I arrived. The service to rebalance my tire would be $0. Reason was that I've been an American Tire customer. Don't go to WheelWorks for any tire service. You will be sorry. Their service is terrible. I had to wait all day for tires to be installed. This was after I had an appointment too first thing in the morning! I observed the wheel people working on other customers cars before mine. These were people that just walked in! It wasn't till after 5pm before my complete tire service was done. I complained and later the service manager sent me an email saying he apologized and could offer 10% off an oil change! Can you believe this? Do you know how little 10% is off on $70? I'll never come back to WheelWorks!!!! Never ever!!! This place should be shut down. read more

I went in for 4 new tires and was called back later to recommend some extra services they found that needed doing : cracking belts, dirty cabin and engine filters and In need of a fuel system cleaning. Worst service ever. I don't have my wheel lock key so Mark decided to broke them for chaning tires. They only broke one tire lock and said they can not continue doing it. So I went to the dealer service and bought a new key for my old locks. I also bought another wheel lock for the broken one. The next day I came they said they still can not open the locks since the locks are too tight and they don't want to be liable for the car. They insist me going back to the dealer's and ask them to get off the locks and buy a new set of locks. Even with the tire without the lock since they broke it, they refuse to change it. I waste two days of time for nothing and they broke one of my wheel lock and refuse for the following process. If there is a negative score, I would give them -100. I live a 25 minute walk from this location so it was my preferred location. I had been there before and it had been okay service, again convenient to save money on figuring out the bus or paying for a lyft. I am a grad student who works multiple jobs, and a female and I brought my car in on Thursday because I know my brakes are out. I said please replace the brakes and I will pick up the car on Friday. The manager Mark told me it was unsafe to drive. So I booked a rental car to get to work in Santa Cruz that day. I called a few hours after I dropped off the car to check how it was going, and Mark's mechanic told me that Mark had not put in the notes that I wanted the brakes replaced, just checked so they didn't order the parts and that he believed I could still drive my car until my day off on Monday but to call on Sunday to confirm. I was thankful and annoyed at Mark for not putting down the notes I needed a replacement after he scared me into thinking I couldn't drive my car and I explained the getting to work stress. I picked up my car and agreed to come back on Monday on my day off. Today Sunday I call and Mark says he has no appointments on Monday and he can see me on Tuesday. I said hey, remember you scared me last week and then I spoke to your nice employee about the situation and was told Monday will be good then and now you're saying Tuesday? I was so upset. I was upfront with all of them about my work constraints and how I was super concerned about getting my car fixed since brakes are a big deal. Only the employees Renee and I forget the other guy had good communication and actually were sympathetic and were helpful. Mark is the store manager I guess but he is pretty bad. Horrible communication, no concern and then gets defensive if you call it out and say what kind of business are you running? Now I called Wheel Works at another location where I will have to pay more money to get transportation to and from the location since it's not a 25 minute walk but it's worth it because I need my dang car fixed. I am pretty bummed out because the lyfts alone will add about 35-45 bucks to the final cost when I'm on a budget. read more

I went to go get my rear tires replaced. The next morning I had to drive to Belmont for work and my front was shaking. Took it back in that same day and they decided to balance the tires cause they didn't do that first before the alignment in which after that when I accelerated after 60 mph it started shaking. I never had problems before I took it there to get new tires for the rear. They done by front tires back in August of 2020 and never had issues with my acceleration before. I took my car in to 350 Kiely Blvd. San Jose for alignment (BMW x5) since I purchased lifetime alignment on all my vehicles from Wheel Works. First time to use this location. Right away, there was heavy sales talk on the services that I should purchase together with the wheel alignment that I came in for. I declined all. I told Mark Ng that the left front axle was just replaced the day before by my mechanic, reason that I needed wheel alignment. When I picked up my vehicle, I was told by Mark that the right axle is torn and needed replacement and he can do it right away. I was stunned by this news. My mechanic checked both axles the day before and there was nothing wrong with the right side. I picked up my vehicle and drove to my mechanic half a mile away. He checked the axles and indeed there was a clean blade cut on the right axle. I was really furious!!! Just the day before both axles were in good condition and now the right side is bad. The heavy sales talk on the phone and the same heavy sales talk when I brought my vehicle in turned me off but I needed this service to drive my car to LA the next day. Now I cannot drive this vehicle! BEWARE ALL CUSTOMERS!!! You are now warned. Steer away from this business. No star rating. Does not deserve any! read more
