We had my daughter's first birthday party at Whirlygig this past weekend, and it was absolutely perfect.......even better than we had imagined. The staff were all so fantastic, polite, friendly and worked nonstop. They truly handled everything from the minute we got there until the minute we left. The facility itself is so adorable, and was the perfect layout for younger kids. As opposed to many party places, you rent the entire play area, so there is less panic about having to follow toddlers around at all times, and the tables are incorporated right into the play place, so everyone can eat, mingle, and play all together. It was also impeccably clean. Everyone of our guests commented on what a hidden gem Whirlygig is. We opted for the Custom Whirly-Extravaganza party and had a "Winter Onederland" theme, the decor was sweet and on point, and it was so convenient for a full time working mom to not have to worry about making/purchasing/collecting decorations. I brought in one additional decor item, but we arrived to a beautiful space that was perfectly coordinated with the invitation that I showed while booking our party. I wanted to see what all the hype about was at Whirlygig since they only have certain open play days which tend to sell out fast and private play. I finally snagged an afternoon session which was from 2p - 5p. I found easy free street parking, and I believe they have their own parking out somewhere. Check in was easy, you have to fill out a waiver on your phone prior to going in. Make sure you have your socks on, as shoes have to come off. The area was quite small, with two separate rooms. A room off to the left is a big sand box, soft foam play area, and a small rocking climbing wall. The other room consists of some slides, building foam blocks, bunch of toys, a kitchen , ride on things, etc. space for kids to run around. My 3.5 year old was entertained for about 1 hr and was ready to go. The price was $20/child. No real food can be purchased but you can bring your own lunch. I would recommend this place for younger children that are exploring, 1-2 years old. read more

We celebrated our boys 4th birthday last Sunday, and it was so successful I keep getting comments from parents about it! First, the unique play area gives an amazing entertainment for all ages. Slides, climbing tractor, sand, costumes, play house, etc. Heaven for kids at all ages. The team was helping so much with settings, decorations, organizing the food and desserts, and also made the clean up and even wrapped the leftover food ready for us to take home. We had the time to speak with our guest and focus on our kids instead of worrying about the logistics, terrific! We had an amazing time having a play date with friends at Whirlygig! This place is probably a child's dream come true. They have everything a child would want to play with!!! A huge sandbox, a tractor you can climb on with slides, bikes, toys, beanbag chairs, a play house, I can go on and on! My daughter went nuts running all over the place! Whirlygig hosted our birthday party for our 2 year old yesterday, and we found the end-to-end process delightful. Jenna is an accommodating owner who clearly cares about Whirlygig's space, and ensuring families have an amazing time. She was super responsive to my emails, and even allowed me to swing by the night before to drop off a few decorative items I wanted to incorporate. During my son's party, we felt 100% supported by the staff. We arrived to a (custom!) decorated space fit to our Curious George theme, with cute details like old George books, George hanging on balloons, and branches hanging from the doorways. The food, dessert, and present tables were truly Pinterest worthy - and as a mom who painstakingly obsesses over decorative details, Whirlygig really knocked it out of the park. Had our daughters first birthday here and a great time was had by all! Carmela was easy to communicate with via email leading up to the party. These girls definitely have their system down because it was all organized and ready for us. Everything flowed very smoothly from beginning to end. We had 2 younger girls that helped during the party, I have no idea their names as there was no introduction. They quietly did their thing and let us do our own thing which was nice. I appreciated that everything looked clean as well. Basic package decorations are super cute. We still added our own touch but after seeing their setup we probably didn't have to. I have been wanting to visit Whirlygig with my daughter and as luck would have it we were invited to a birthday party there recently! They have 2 rooms, the one to the left has a large sandbox, climbing wall and craft areas and the one on the right has 2 play structures, and multiple other things to play with. This is a great place for a birthday party or to come on a rainy day to burn off some energy. My daughter did not want to leave when the party was over! A couple things to know - Parking is on the street or there is a public lot across the street. It is a shoe free facility so both you and your little ones will be required to take your shoes off before entering. There is a waiver you need to fill out, but you can fill it out online ahead of time to expedite the process. read more

Managed to make a 2 hour pop open play on the weekend the other day. Took my 2 year old daughter with no idea what to expect and was impressed. Lots of room for kids to run around and play. 2 climbing structures good variety of toys and different tables with hands on craft areas. Staff was all very nice and helpful, snacks were provide (don't known if they always are). The have a nice indoor sandbox as well, air felt a little dusty playing in it but still had fun. We just had a birthday party for our 5 yr old twins here, and it was a wonderful experience. At least 3 reasons why this place is a great place to host your next birthday party: 1) It's good for your kids ... AND their siblings. Many of our kids' friends had younger kids come along. But since they couldn't participate in the structured activities (painting, crafts, etc) there's lots of things to do inside! There's a big tractor-@like structure, a barn / play area, even an indoor sandbox! 2) Lots of space! We had 40+ bodies in the room, and plenty of space for the kids to run around, adults to walk around / mingle. 3) They had an entire crew on-site to help with everything from cake-cutting to kids activities to even uploading our car afterwards. On a day when you are running around trying to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves, this makes a big difference! This place is owned and operated by a mom - and I think that makes a difference as well. You can feel the "motherly" touches throughout the experience. Very thoughtful and convenient throughout. Parents and nannies.... if you are looking for a fun place today your kiddos on those cold rainy days or just to do something different Whirlygig is awesome! The staff is very friendly they have open play from 10-12 for infants up to 4 years old. And if you buy a pass which I think is a good deal you can go in at 9:30 instead of 10. There are a ton of fun things to do. When you walk in to the right there is a fun playhouse that looks like a farm house with pretend tools and a huge chalk board inside. There is a huge green grass looking rug to go with the theme on the floor that you can play with your little ones. They have a dress up area for the kiddos to try on different outfits. They have a huge wooden tractor with a wooden trailer the kids can climb and pretend to be farmers. It would be fun if they had some dress up clothes for the kids to pretend to be farmers They have a couple tables with different activities set up. Today was music day and it was let by Theresa. The 3 year old boy I take of and I had a great time dancing with the streamers. In the next room they have a huge deck with a sandbox with sand toys. Lower on the floor they have a smaller sandbox with toy dinosaurs. The activities for this room there was a light table that you can check out X-ray images. Magnetile style toys. And two tables with arts and crafts. The only think I would consider changing at least for the open play is letting people wear their shoes inside the play areas. I personally hate taking my shoes off but I know that if I had a baby crawling around I would be afraid the little ones fingers would get stepped on by an adult or child or someone would drag in dirt from outside. Especially on rainy days. Cubbies next to the entrance would be fantastic also. It's nice to have a specific spot you can put your things and shoes if you choose too. This place is just awesome. I was happily surprised and my son was sooo excited while playing there. They have several structures, tons of toys, books, puzzles and a sand pool!! I couldn't get my son to leave, they have many diggers and he played there for so long. It's run by mums who clearly know what they are doing. I would define it as a Mini Discovery Museum, where the kids can play on their own or make any of the activities that they have available such as painting, playing with water, foam, kinetic sand...all those things that you don't want to do home because it will be too messy. The stuff is super friendly and sweet, they help the kids with the activities and don't get mad if for example you want to feed them their snacks while playing, as it happens in other places I've been before. And they offer free tea for mamas! They also have toilets with all the necessary for either older toddlers or babies who need diaper change etc and wipes and sanitizer all around, as I said, run by mums obviously. Okay, update to my previous review.. we had a rough patch the first week, however, the second week it was like night and day. The energy of the camp and staff seemed much warmer and overall more energetic. My toddler enjoyed the camp and making fun art projects daily. This camp is definitely a nice option for when school is on break. I do wish that the camp did have a longer run time from just part of the morning, however, my toddler enjoyed the second week of camp and enjoyed seeing friends from school there. read more

I brought my friend's 2 year old here for open play. She loved it, perfect venue for her age. I then took my 5 and 7 year old boys. My 5 year old enjoyed it and my 7 year old made the best of it because he's too old for it. We found the open room that has art supplies. My 7 year old was so excited!! I was helping him get situated and the employee comes in with such a mad look on her face. She muttered something and I'm like "oh I'm so sorry, are we not able to use the art stuff?" And she rudely says no. I started cleaning it all up and she said they could color with the markers on blank paper, which my son didn't want to. It was a really weird encounter. The room is open, there is not a sign saying it's off limits. When I checked in both times, I was not told the art is off limits either. Close the door, put a sign up, verbally tell me, there was no reason to be so rude. We've been to many kid venues over the years and there's usually an art area so it didn't even occur to me we could not use it. I wanted to use this place as a bday venue, but not after that because I don't tolerate rudeness. read more

Love this place!! I had my daughters 4th birthday party here and everyone had the best time - kids and adults! The kids never got bored and had such a great time playing. There is something for every kid... dress up, play structures, sand box, kitchen set, sensory toys you name it! I recently attended a birthday party at Whirlygig. What a fun place! I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and there was plenty to do for each of them. The attention to detail by the staff is amazing. They led games and arts and crafts projects, had face painting and supplied food and beverages. Currently there are two play rooms. The first is a barn theme with a tractor and trailer to climb on and a barn to play in. The second room has a sandbox, which as a mom who doesn't want sand at my house...this was perfect! Would highly recommend to parents with a child/children from 1-5. The space is quiet and well done. Not over stimulating like other places we have been for Birthdays. Fantastic option to host birthday parties for kids! We hosted a birthday party for a 3 year old and the kids and parents absolutely loved the facility! A lot of the reviews seem to have had 5 year olds enjoy it as well, but I think this place is most appropriate for under 4 (but that could just be my assumption). Positives: 1. Lots of toys and play structures for kids to keep busy! Highlights include - The sandpit with plenty of trucks, indoor slide and lots of other things like costumes, toys and little scooters. 2. Even the base package had really nice decorations and activities! The staff there really entertained kids in small groups so parents could relax. 3. Plenty of additional packages to help customize your event further eg; Themed decorations, photographer, artists etc. if you choose to not want to do any extra work like shopping around for cake, food and goodie bags - You have the option to have Whirlygig organize it (if you are ready to pay the premium, it works well!) 4. Super super responsive when planning the event and everything was organized super well when we got there / and during the event. Keely was very helpful! 5. Allow outside food which a lot of places don't. So better options instead of the pizza that most places offer. They also help in cutting and serving the cake. Nitpicks 1. The base package is only for 1.5 hours which is super short for a birthday party. An additional 30 mins can be purchased for 100$ more which is pricy! They had an offer going on so we got 30 mins for free - and that was the main reason we picked this place. $399 for 2 hours was reasonable and compares to other similar play areas. We picked this because it was clean and looked great! Honestly even 2 hours is short :( ideal would be 3 hours because most of our guests looked like they didn't want to leave at the 2 hour mark and it sort of felt abrupt to be kicked out (But that was a choice we had to live with I guess :() 2. Its great that they allow outside food, but they do charge $50 for it. If you order for 100$ from their partnering restaurant, they do allow you to bring outside food for free which is a good option I guess. Of course the partnering restaurant is pricy so you don't get a whole lot for $100! 3. No outside beverages. You can purchase beverage packages (base 40$ - Juice, Tea, coffee, or 80$ for base + additional options). Water is complimentary though. 4. When they mean 2 hours, they really mean 2 hours! Which means at the 2 hour mark - Your food, cake and anything else you bought is basically packed and taken to the reception area. You ACTUALLY need to leave the party with the guests (which is a weird feeling) and settle the bill when they are around (Wish they could just take the credit card, email the final invoice and charge the card if all is ok). read more

We just did our son's 3rd bday party at this place. Trying to really think between 2 and 3 stars here but as i would not go back myself and would not recommend, hence the 2 stars Let me start with the positives. The place is definitely very well designed and spacious for about 40-50 total people and kids age 2-5 will love it. It definitely sticks out as a unique and well thought out place with homely/personal touches compared to the other traditional party places/gyms. The staff through the booking process is also courteous. In terms of what really changed my opinion and even compelled me to write this review are following reasons - They work on principle that customers dont go to same place for kid's bday and new customers come through the folks who attend the party....and perhaps why their attitude and intention towards the host/customer changes on the day of the event - staff at the event is professional but not any caring and to be honest more cold especially with the kids - their policy and the faq on website does not clarify and clearly they are on to making money on the day of the event....2 examples 1. i had initially decided to buy the beverage option for $80. but decided to cancel and they ackowledged it and planned to buy my own beverages. On the day of the even they spring surprise on me that it would cost me $100 to bring my own beverages (water and juice boxes). So i had no choice but to agree to their $80 beverage option 2. They allow 3 trays and charge $50 for additional, this is quite clear. But nowhere during the discussions or on the website they mention that 1 tray equates 4 pizza boxes and since we had 8 pizza boxes, they charged us $50 for additional setup (again right at the end when you are paying). we also had some appetizers but again they didnt mention about any concern when we had initially discussed this read more

We attended the Whirlygig grand opening! My kids loved playing on the huge structures - a tractor and a trailer. They were so excited for the sandbox in the other room too.
