I politely asked multiple times if they could please cut the steak for him and even explained why. They clearly seemed annoyed by the request. When I picked up the food, everything looked rushed and just thrown into the boxes--and the steak was not cut. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing. The taquitos were plain with only cheese on top--no sides like guacamole or sour cream, especially disappointing for the price. The loaded potato wasn't even "loaded," just a plain potato. Between the poor service, lack of care, and declining food quality, this place is nothing like it used to be. It's honestly sad to see something that used to feel welcoming and enjoyable turn into somewhere I now dread going. I wouldn't recommend stopping here anymore. There are better places in town that actually value their customers.

We wanted to get some information and to see what it might cost, but I have to say, after going in there and being overlooked for so long... we ended up leaving. I got a lot of funny looks. Maybe it was because we obviously looked like we were just passing through the town. I am not sure. All I can say is that it looked like a cute lil local bowling alley, that small town feeling for sure.

I have always used my husband's account to access Yelp and we often rely on the reviews when traveling to unfamiliar areas, but I thought I should start leaving my own reviews and my visit to Whiskey Creek will be a great start! Whiskey Creek in our home town of Mammoth was always a joy, but the restaurant in Bishop was our favorite and we were so happy to hear they had opened back up!! We came down on Saturday night for the Night of Lights and wanted to try our old favorite after the parade. I had the Pesto Chicken pasta and it was better than I remember! The service was prompt and polite. Our bus boy/food runner (William or Wesley maybe... I can't remember) was the most pleasant young man (not always the case with young men and women these days), which is nice to see! The visit was a pleasure. We will stop in whenever down the hill from Mammoth! Great job, glad to see you are reopen! read more

I travel quite often throughout the year. I've had the opportunity to eat just about every dish from every nation around the world. I'm not afraid to try something new or something old. I choose to eat at Whiskey Creek in Bishop California and its earned the 5 stars I've never given a restaurant. I had the New Zealand Rack of Lamb medium Cooked. I had this dish in San Francisco a couple of years ago and never had Lamb since, Rhonda the server suggested the dish and I agreed to give it a try. My goodness, it was tender and juicy with nothing but its natural flavor. When you bite into the meat it dissolves pleasantly into your palate and the aroma of the meal teases you for more. The Lamb is only the beginning because it's complemented with soup or salad and a fancy Veggie mix. I'll be back for the service and the food. Awesomenees in the making!!! read more

This place makes you feel like home. Every time I'm here which is about four times a week. The manager Jen makes it a point to say hi. Tommy and kim in the bar are more than willing to make sure my requests are taken care of. And, Rhonda who is now only in the dining room and very much missed in the bar is just my absolute favorite. She brings a different level of service to Bishop. I have visited many diifferent bar/restaurants in the area Whiskey Creek has always been a great experience. So my buddies and I used to stop at whiskey Creek all the time coming through bishop. It's been closed for a long time. But coming through town this time we seen it open so we had to stop in and check it out. We sat on the patio and got some beers. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. She got our drinks right away, we ordered food and it came out even better. The food was absolutely awesome. Our cups never went dry the whole entire time we were there. We love this place! It's our go-to restaurant every time we are in Bishop. They have changed up their menu and, while we were disappointed at first, what a hit it is! Good job, you guys. John was our server the first night. He is so friendly and approachable and we loved his margaritas. The best we've had. We ran into Patricia, who remember us from November! Nicole was our server the second night and she did an awesome job. We love this place. It's nice to sit out on the patio with our dogs and enjoy fantastic cuisine and super friendly people. We came in Monday night and were promptly greeted with a smile by the bartender, Miranda. We ordered drinks and were going to wait for a booth to eat. After enjoying the service at bar, we decided to stay and eat at the bar. I had the fish and chips, my coworker had the wings and a salad. Food was mediocre, which is why I gave 3 stars, but the bartender was awesome and funny and she deserves 5 stars! Updating my review because of the prompt and concerned response by the owner. What a gem located right in the heart of Bishop. Found this place while driving through town and so glad I stopped. Kimberley waited on us this past weekend and the service was phenomena, couldn't have been better. She was so attentive to all of our dietary needs. We had some special requests with our meals and she handled it like a champ. I had a ribeye and it was perfect, my dad had the filet, and it was just as good! I would not rate this restaurant at all I had to give it one start to upload the comment. the food is over price the steak has no flavor and super dry. this restaurant gets worse by the day. good luck if you eat there McDonalds would of been better. I will never eat there again its a waste of time and money. I believe they change owners because last time, I was driving towards Mammoth it was close. its not the Whiskey creek I knew. the cook or chef sucks needs new cooks or chef what ever they have. read more

Stopped in tonight to watch the game and scored on service. Rhonda our all time favorite server is finally back after being gone for awhile and just happened to be working the bar side with Tommy our all time favorite bartender. Tom has all sorts of specialty drinks and always makes us something new and fun. And, Rhonda anticipates your every need. These two just make for a unique dining experience that makes Whiskey Creek one of our favorite places to eat and have a couple of drinks. read more

My husband and I came in last week for breakfast, passing thru on our way to Mammoth Lakes. Maya is the best waitress ever! She is the reason for the 5 stars! We had come in with a very large party (10-15 people) on multiple occasions and she rocked it both times. Not one wrong order and very attentive service. She truly made it a positive experience. The bartender also worked very hard to keep our crowd happy. I came on this site and noticed that the egg rolls are vegetable egg rolls so I called to confirm. Menus change? Who knows? I was told on the phone that they have beef rolls- quantity of 2 or vegetable egg rolls- quantity of 4. What the ????? Horrible service. I will never set a foot in this place. How hard is to say, we can add green onion for a small charge? How hard is it to repeat yourself if your customer is having trouble understanding you? My parents are not native English speakers and speak with a broken accent. IDGAF. But to be rude and condescending with your customers is just wrong. You know who you are, "Asian man with a ponytail and a small limp or funny walk. Get another job or stay in the kitchen, you are hurting your business. I will go to the merry go round next time.

There are a lot of doo-dads about which give the place a lot of character. Next to the dining room is a small bar, similarly festooned with a lot of entertaining doo dads. Tom's place is an official watering hole of ECV, and that alone tells you something about the place. They also have a small general store with convenience food and supplies, as well as simple souvenirs like t-shirts and coffee mugs. Have a look there while you are at it. To give you a sense of the place, consider the attached photograph. It is of the stairway to the restrooms downstairs. That doorway is low enough that a tall person might possibly hit their head, hence the admonishment. That's it in a nutshell. This is either your kind of place or not. But it is surely mine!

She said she had reading glasses she could sell me, but I needed to show her the proof that my dog was a service animal before she would let her in the store. My dog was now shivering profusely because it was coldish and windy, she pointed it out and I informed her that my dog is shivering from the cold, and we are just hungry this is a huge waste of time, because she is a legal service animal, but I am now under too much stress and cannot see without my glasses to pull up the digital proof that she demands before we enter. I informed her that this was illegal, and she started berating me, telling me I don't know what the law is. She than started being condescending and asking me if I know what ADA stands for. I told her that I am a RN, and that just made her louder and more unruly. If anyonlie from the state wants to talk, I allow YELP to release my email address to them. I have had my service animal for years, and never a problem. I have actually had her in Tom's place before without a problem. I have no idea why a small restaurant owner would rather cause potential litigation and undue stress upon potential customers and break the law and demand proof of service animal legitimacy than just let people with service animals live their best lives in peace. I did not need this experience and neither did the friend that was with me or my service animal . WHO THE HELL CARES IF SOMEONE HAS A SMALL DOG THAT IS SILENT. Unfortunately for you, she is a service animal. I have paperwork. In this day and age in California, they are letting many crimes go unpunished, as it is now racist to prosecute anything. So to all the small restaurant owners out there that give people undue stress about service animals which are not a crime, just shut your mouth, take our money, and obey the law.
