I found myself with some free time and decided to stop and see if I could schedule a massage. They gave me an appointment 30 minutes later. The massage room was pretty no frills but very clean and a warm towel on the bed already started my muscles relaxing. I've had a stressful few months and the moment the massage therapist, Juny, put her hands on my shoulder she could feel where I had all my stress. The massage was somewhere in between shiatsu and acupressure. I think she even felt so bad for me that she threw in a hot stone massage too. This was my second time at Birch Nail & Spa - my first visit was great! Unfortunately, this last experience was awful. I walked in and asked if they had availability for a gel manicure. They said yes, with no mention of a wait time. Right away, a woman asked if I had regular polish on, and I said "yes." She then started filing off my polish and soaking my nails in acetone (I thought this was an aggressive technique but thought they knew best). Suddenly, she ran out the door, and another woman told me she would take over my service once she finished with her current customer. About 15 minutes went by, with my nails still soaking in acetone, before I finally removed the wraps myself - only to find my nails significantly damaged. At this point, I was frustrated by both the unexpected wait and the condition of my nails. I decided to leave and asked what I owed for the removal. The woman said $15 for gel polish removal. I explained that I had regular polish, not gel, but was met with an exasperated "just go" - no apology for the miscommunication or the poor service. In summary: 20-30 minutes wasted Nails aggressively damaged Lack of ownership I won't be returning. read more

I decided to try this place given their great reviews and proximity to me. I had a dip manicure and pedicure done on Sunday, and on Wednesday, a few of my nails started cracking and chipping. Usually my dip nails from other salons last 4-5 weeks, and these only lasted 4 days. I'm so sad that I wasted the time and money. The manicurist insisted that thinner dip was better because it was more natural, but that just doesn't work for me and my lifestyle. I would not recommend. read more

I don't get how this place has such good reviews. The only positive was my foot & chair massage. The gel manicure cracked and chipped on multiple nails within two days. I asked the person to cut my toe nails and she only filed which led to my big toe nail too long and feel ingrown. I had to go to my favorite spot when I got back home and my nail tech asked why they painted my cuticles. read more

I had a 10:30 AM appointment on a hot day. When I arrived the door was wide open with no cooling system turned on. When I said it was too hot, I was rescheduled for today. When I arrived today the door was open for cooling, but the air conditioner had been turned on. It was still very uncomfortable and I left. This place is very clean and they are meticulous in their work -- I really like going here. The service providers seem to genuinely care about the quality of their work and are not just rushing through to get done as quickly as possible. I've had pedicures, chair massages, and full-body massages here, all have been positive experiences that I'd highly recommend! On the pedicures and massages, you can choose between many different types. My husband and kids have come here too, and they've done a really solid job addressing my husband's callouses and foot pain. They calibrate the services for children appropriately, too (i.e. lightening up if it's ticklish, being aware of how the child is experiencing the pedicure and adjusting appropriately.) The woman who did my dip mani was very good. She was polite, very attentive to her work and kind of a perfectionist with it! I am a little rough on my hands so many of the nails chipped or broke within a couple days but it looked great right after. If you don't use your hands often / have a more sedentary lifestyle, these are great. Despite the chipping, I'll go back for her. Pedicure though - do not recommend at all. Another post on here mentioned the woman who gets snarky and laughs at you. I can't remember her name but she is pretty rude and will very openly laugh or talk badly about you to either herself or the other coworkers. She attempts to upsell on everything - then tells you how bad you look if you don't agree to it. Kind of comical actually, it's like being around a really insecure middle schooler. Nice feet or not, I'm sure she'll find something to say. I will never get a pedicure there again. read more

I made an appointment for a pedicure. The minute I walked in a woman with heavy eye makeup said my pedicure would be an extra $8 before i even said what i wanted, so I asked why and they said for the quick dry polish. I said I was fine with regular polish and that I didn't want quick dry and she was SO visibly annoyed with me. She also insisted that I get a manicure, because the one i have currently is slightly grown out, but I didn't want to pay for another manicure just yet and that also annoyed her. My pedicure looks ok, but my toenails are too long so i will need to get another sooner than I would've liked. I get my nails done elsewhere regularly but just had to do this appointment last minute, and that same woman was extremely rude, pointing at my hands and feet and laughing the entire appointment, showing her co workers, despite the fact that they looked completely fine. She was super aggressive physically with my feet as well, pulling and shoving me. I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time, probably the worst pedicure I've ever had. To top it off, I didn't give a huge tip because I felt they were bullying me, and then she had the nerve to tell me that the tip should be higher!!! I would NEVER go back here. I think the experience was amazing, we had the whole place to ourselves. Me and my mom both got a mani- pedi and it was great. Also, we both got chair massages. The bathroom was really nice and clean, the people working were kind but not too talkative and they really took their time. It was very calming. Worst nail salon I've ever, ever been to. I asked for a manicure/pedicure. The manicure consisted of nothing more than filing my nails. There was no other treatment and no polish. The pedicure was simply cutting and painting my toenails. No lotions, no footrub, no soaking. Nails were clipped but not shaped. They applied polish but no other coating. I assumed they would come back at some point to finish, but they didn't. They just walked away to attend to someone else who had just walked in. After 25 minutes waiting for any finishing touches (or even some acknowledgement that they knew that they hadn't yet completed the treatment), i got up to leave. They charged me 50% more than the agreed price (which i paid just to get out of there), along with a very small tip just because I still believe in tipping. If anyone can recommend a nail salon that actually does good work and doesn't ignore its customers, please let me know. read more

Very nice staff but just an okay -- maybe less than okay -- manicure and pedicure. I was there in the afternoon and by that night, the manicure was starting to peel around the edges.
