I wish that I can give negative stars for this excuse of an establishment. I am back in town from Miami and I had asked my aunt to refer me to a good nail salon. She had got me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. Hands-down this was the worst experience I have ever dealt with in my life I am 26 years old and I have been getting manicures and pedicures since I have been 10 years of age. I honestly would have preferred to just leave the prior paint on, I mean she did leave remnants of it along the cuticles of my nail. Everything looked awful & the polish literally chipped within minutes of leaving the salon. The lady who took care of me it was extremely rude. Luckily for a friend of mine she must have gotten one of the better ladies in the salon as I would look over and the lady had my friend laughing, smiling & overall pleased. Just because somebody's paying with a gift certificate does not mean that it was not paid for! It is not a Groupon where you are given a discounted rate. Long story short I was given this gift card as a referral to the salon & I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Made the mistake of stopping in because it was the first salon I saw after getting off at 96th. I needed just a gel manicure removal, which they quoted as $10. Other salons have offered $5 for a removal, but seeing as they weren't open on Sundays, I took the extra $5 as the cost for getting them removed asap. I first started noticing something wrong when they took out a Metrocard to chip off my nails after soaking it in acetone. They used both a nail tool and the Metrocard to roughly chip off slivers of nail polish, causing pain and injuries to my cuticles -- which remain sore and inflamed days after! They soaked my fingers in a bowl of acetone at least 3-4 times and continued literally chipping at my nails for an hour. End result: super weak nails and cut up cuticle bed. I found a salon SPECIFICALLY so that I could remove the polish without damaging my nails - this place did it worse than I could have at home. Killer part? The owner charged me $25 saying "acrylic nails were extra". I got my nails done at a gel nail salon, using gel polish - they insisted that it was acrylic, and refused to tell me this new price point until after an hour of pain. Had I known it would've been this costly and terrible, I would've left with the aluminum foil still on my fingers. I just went to another salon where they actually put on hand cream, cuticle oil, and throw in a massage for cheaper. Please do not ever come here! read more

I mistakenly happened upon this nail salon while in search for another that I'd read good reviews about. I entered the nail salon and was promptly greeted by the hostess. They instructed me to select a color for my pedicure. Their polish selection is very limited compared to what I am used to seeing as a standard in most nail salons. I'm pretty sure my personal nail polish collection would rival theirs.They carry a selection of OPI polishes, Essie and a limited selection of gel polishes. Upon entering, you'll find yourself in a very tranquil environment. The nail salon is calm and serene. Like most places in the city the space is limited, but it feels very open and airy. It is evident that there is something different happening here than most standard nail salons. It is a very relaxing and spa-like nail salon. They have classical music playing. There's not a lot of employee discussion happening back and forth about clients and general discussion. I found this to be quite a nice surprise.During my time there, I saw a steady flow of customers coming and out. This is always a good sign of that business is steady. Massages are offered along with nail services and also individually as well. There was a masseuse present who was giving a quick massage to a client in the center of the salon. The particular massage that I witnessed was in an upright chair, similar to what you will find in a mall or other public places. I received a pedicure right away. After I was shown to my pedicure station, the nail tech asked my preferred pedicure option. I didn't see a price list posted anywhere and I wasn't offered a selection that explained the choices available. The service was very quick and there was no waiting involved. Additionally the speed, in which, my pedicure was completed was very fast. From start to finish the pedicure took a total of about 40 minutes including drying time. At times it felt as if the nail technician was rushing through the motions in order to get it done quickly. The tech caught me off guard when she gave me a quick two-minute shoulder massage as my polish was drying. Unfortunately, she was no where to be found after my dryer turned off twice. The hostess / manager happened to be walking by and restarted the machine once. For a moment I thought maybe she disappeared after payment, however she did eventually sit across from me and wait patiently. After completion of my services she helped put my coat back on and walked me to the front door. The entire staff made sure to say goodbye and wish me well on my way out of the door. In response to what a previous reviewer wrote regarding the work culture. I did observe that there was little interaction between the employees during my time there, but I think that is a part of the overall experience. They are clearly trying to establish a spa like tranquility which can only be accomplished through peacefulness. It would be stretch to say that the employees looked sad because I didn't see any frowns during my time there. What I will say is that some of them looked tired, and the work is strenuous work so it is completely warranted. That being said...it IS a standard manicure with nothing special about it so the price point sort of baffles me. As a previous reviewer said, the people here don't seem happy. I wanted to pay with a card and was told there was a minimum (totally illegal btw) and when I called the owner/manager out on it suddenly it was okay to pay with a card. I went in today and gave a $20 for a manicure and the woman never gave me they change. They were not busy at all. This group just opened a new location at 62nd and West End. I used to go up to this location, and it's nice to see the consistency! They do a wonderful pedicure that will last for weeks! I recommend the Green Tea spa pedi. Makes your feet feel fantastic and clean! They use some really fun techniques here (gel crystals in the foot bath and paraffin wax treatment on your heels) - at least they do this at the new location. So, I would recommend either West Side location. They do good work and the environment is nice. read more

Lovely place. Spa-like, clean and elegant. Soft classical music in the background, and no chatter. Jenny, my technician, did a very thorough job, first helping me decide on my color, then paying extra attention to details. I was also very impressed with the quality of the massage and the masseur, for an additional $15 dollars for 10 minutes (in my experience the lady massaging your shoulder while the polish dries, very seldom knows what she's doing and they end up just poking and making things worse...). The end of my manicure was a moisturized glove with a heavenly hot towel and a brief hand massage: really nice. Only down: a little steep price ($53 for a manicure) and no exposed price table. Where do I begin? Well, I found this place because it was near an acupuncture place that I was going to visit afterwards. I came in very early on a Sunday morning, and there were 4 clients, but there were enough staff so I did not have to wait. I didn't have to pick my color because I always bring my color, base, and top with me. I was escorted to a pedicure chair, the lady taking care of me proceeded to fill the tub with water, and added some powder to it--the powder turned to some lovely gel and it felt wonderful. I got a pedi that came up to $65.00 as it was packaged by them already. It included foot massage, and some other mask for my leg. The pedi was finished by putting paraffin on my heels. My heels were not as smooth as I wanted them to be, but I didn't make a big deal of it. I was then escorted to the mani station. The mani was ok, but not great (one of my fingers is already chipping) -- I always expect my mani to not be long lasting if I get regular polish. Right before my nails were painted, I was asked if I wanted to pay now, which I agreed to because I didn't want to mess up my nails. My bill came up to $84.00, I paid using my debit card, and took all of the cash I had with me to tip the person who took care of me. Now, I did not have that much cash on me, I only had $6.00 (I usually leave $10-$12, but the place that I go to is cheaper than this one so in my head it was just) Anyways, the lady who took care of me COUNTED the money I gave her in front of me, and proceeded to let me know that the tip minimum is 20% of the service. I was very surprised that she was so blunt about it. I just asked her if there was a Chase nearby so that I could take some additional cash out. Once I was done with everything, I was gathering my things to head to the bank, the lady came to the drying station to "help me" gather my things, but what she was really doing was holding my stuff in a place that would make me come back for it. Trust me, at some point I thought "fuck it, I'm not tipping this lady anything else," but then I came to my senses and didn't want to be that petty. I went to the bank, brought her an extra $10.00. Was this mani, and pedi worth $100.00? No Will I come back to this place? Nope (unless I feel like I want to feel the nice gel on my feet) Were they rude? Well, to me tipping is discretionary. Asking for 20% minimum tipping is very ridiculous in my humble opinion specially when I already spent $84.00 and brought my own base, color, and top polishes. read more

Terrible experience. Not worth your $! It is $30 for their regular pedicure. Which is so bare bones, it's more of a polish change. If you want any real callus removal or scrubbing, you have to pay $60-80. When you first sit down, they put your feet in a tub filled with a special scrub/goo. It is exciting, and you think, this will be great! Then your feet are immersed for maybe 5 seconds, they take your feet out, and that is the last of the pampering. Some of the workers are fine, but some are downright rude and hate their life, and hate you. They do a quick, perfunctory job. My advice, go elsewhere. It's Manhattan, the choice is yours. I like coming here for pedicures! They're $30, which is on the expensive side for a NYC pedicure, but they put a gel solution in the tub that is interesting and soothing, it's pretty unique! If anything, I do wish my feet could soak in that solution longer - one foot definitely stays in longer than the other (because when your first foot goes in, they're working on your second foot; by the time your second foot goes in the gel, the time is limited). Overall, it's a good pedicure place! I know my friend is not super thrilled with her $50 gel manicure however. I recommend coming for pedis, even if just to experience the gel solution. read more

First the good news...it's exactly what me and my family was looking for. My 4 siblings and I decided it would be fun to get a pedicure together (i know, weird idea of fun). So we made a reservation here because the reviews were good and, more importantly, they had 5 pedicure chairs together and could take all of us at the same time. We showed up exactly when we promised and they had 5 technicians ready to go. So far, so good. The place is nicely laid out and it's really one of the cleaner, more attractive mani-pedi's uptown. The problem is - as Joanna P. pointed out in her review - it's expensive for what you get : the fastest, most basic pedicure ...for $31 (without tip). Maybe I'm spoiled, but most pedicures I've had last around 30 to 40 minutes and included a modest degree of enthusiasm and attention to detail. Not at All Seasons. She couldn't finish with me fast enough. The pedicure took less than 10 minutes ...including a lightning-quick foot massage. It was the same for all my family members. They didn't even give us a break on the price. (We should've gotten a group discount, but they wouldn't budge). I'm baffled by the four-star reviews. The only point on which I concur is that it's a clip joint (of sorts). First, my massage chair turned out to have a piece of sharp metal pushing through the upholstery and into my lower back. The covering was worn in that spot, so it's not a recent issue. And the woman next to me had the same problem with her chair. Instead of moving us, they gave us rolled-up towels to put behind us. They didn't want to lose the cost of the gel goop already poured into the basins. How cheap is that? Why would a place that charges $45 for a mani-pedi have worse equipment than the mediocre local spots charging $25? Next, the woman doing the service gave me a menu with a list of pricey options, none of which included the basic mani-pedi. I had to ask her twice (and I know she spoke English) for the cost of that service and then request it. This apparently was a disincentive, because she thereafter lazed her way through the process, not really pushing back the cuticle or trimming properly. The nail cut was minimal, a well-known ploy to ensure a quicker return visit. She then gave a few casual swats with the callous buffer. I requested more and she said "Next time you need to buy better service." Seriously. I asked her for the buffer and began doing it myself and she started laughing. At that point, I told her we were done. I got up, dried off my feet and put on my sandals. She stopped laughing and began yelling. She ran to the manager in front and told her to charge me $20 -- which I can assure you I did not pay. Bottom line: There's a dearth of decent places along this stretch of the UWS, but if I'm going to pay $45, then I might as well take a short train ride to better choices. read more

I wanted to get my nails done for my ring ceremony and this place seemed pretty decent...WRONG. I walked in and asked the person in the front desk if they did simple designs and they quickly sat me down and told me I could ask the lady doing my nails. I did and she gave me an attitude saying she could not do it that she needed an airbrush or something. I just wanted a simple flower -__-. I asked if she could do a french manicure instead and she did a terrible job. I always do my nails and could have done a better job myself. She did not bother asking me how I liked it until I saw the result. I payed over $40 and as my nails were drying a male worker was staring at me suspiciously as I was trying to look at some magazines. I don't know what's wrong with this place. I've repeatedly tried it since it's close to my home and for that reason alone would like to go there. However, I've given up. I think it's got bad gestalt..... nobody who works there seems happy. They don't seem to have enough business so the few therapists there are "not fully engaged"... you would think then that when someone walked in for a treatment there would be at least a smile but, no, the greeting is only, "You pick your color". On top of that they don't do a particularly good job on manicures... it's as if there is a prize for doing the fastest job possible. This place is clean and the gel bath for the pedicure is amazing. HOWEVER, they told us a pedi and mani would take an hour (which was what we wanted after a full day of walking through the city) but they were really in a hurry, while we were almost the only ones in the spa and within half an hour we were back on the street. Nail polish goes on a little too thick and the top coat doesn't completely cover your nail. 2. Additionally, a standard pedicure at this establishment is what I could do at home and if you want more it's an extra $37 dollars... which at any other place would just be included. My manicures from here last longer than those from most places, including the more expensive joints. Their basic $12 manicure comes with an uber-relaxing hand, arm, and shoulder massage, not just a perfunctory pat down. I have been here a few times...big fan of the manicures..will never get a pedicure from here again. The good: Great customer service the first time I went. She took her time, did a great job and made sure my nails were dry before I left. The bad: The pedicure is not worth the money..she seemed disinterested in doing a decent job after she realized I wasn.t upgrading to a more expensive service. When it came time to pay and I said I was using credit she made it a point to mention that tip could not be added to the card...as if its a mandate that she would receive one. I went to All Seasons when i was younger and decided to go back today. I was extremely satisfied with the service, BUT THE PRICES?! They tried to charge me $148.20 for a gel pedicure and a fill-in with gel. The woman i usually go to charges me $70 !
