Perfect lunch on a rainy Wednesday

everyone knows how I feel about White Castle, so I'll leave the food review for the prior locations. This place is simply a "drive-through' or walk up window. The team member who helped me was pleasant and I found it really easy to pull in and out of the parking lot. Got the food back to my office and was extremely impressed how hot it had remained and it was definately fresh. Four stars to White Castle!

This was my 2nd time at this location in the last 10 years as I'm not from the area. My 1st experience was just shy of magical, hence the return trip a decade later. Very pleased with my set of double cheese sliders this time around. The service was right on point as well. While coming here late night in the summer after a Phish concert at Jones Beach certainly added to the "magic" previously; a quick bite in the afternoon on the way to a funeral was more on the regular. 1st visit = 5 stars 2nd visit = 3 stars Giving overall 4 star average.

7.30.16 & 12.03.17 White Castle, Fast food, Belly Bombers. Broadhollow Road.(South RT.110), Farmingdale, NY. Good evening to All my Yelping friends! Do you have the Castle Crave? Well if you do, this White Castle's been much improved. Perhaps there is new management, but the place seems to be run much more efficiently. The window Staff is more courteous and the food has been right on point the last 4 times. It had taken a year for me to return after my nightmarish visit back in 2016. Even then I made sure to visit a few times before posting a new review. I can honestly declare that this White Castle is Highly recommended, and has passed my tests of scrutiny. This location has successfully prepared my food fast, hot, & fresh and without any attitude for the last month. The only type of attitude received here has been nothing but smiles and courtesy. Thank you. I curse the White Castle newspaper coupons! Even though I love to see them, I know I'm going to be walking and exercising to get rid of the xtra White Castle crave calories. Dieting with White Castle! Yelp TIP - Each regular slider (no cheese) is 140 calories! 3 sliders just 420 ! Sounds okay to me. Then, substitute the Coca-Cola packed with with 70 grams of sugar, for a nice "Dasani" water and cup of ice.. Zero calories. Yeah. Note this location has no inside dining. But it does have a walk-up window just for pedestrians. Cool! It's great to be back here again, I do a lot of business in the area. 4 stars now for this location. You don't want to be behind this guy at the drive-thru.. "I will have 4 crave suitcases for my fraternity, 50 Cokes.... 6 bottles Pepto-Bismol. JIM D.

All the fried items purchased had a burt after taste cause by the oil. Very disappointing. The oil should be changed more frequently!

The night was bingo night but that aside we had a good time. You can eat both inside and outside. The outside offers seating in front and back. I'm a big outdoor seating person so we ate outdoors. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their dinner. The hamburgers were good. The fried pickles were good, if you like those. The Parmesan fries were also popular, but not my thing. What caught my eye was the berry goat cheese salad. Mixed greens, berries, caramel pecans, goat cheese, and their red vinaigrette was excellent. I thought I'd throw some protein on there so added the steak. The steak was not very good so I ended up eating very little of it. Not quite sure what the taste was that the steak was giving off but not something to my liking. Otherwise, this is a terrific salad. The vegetables refresh, they gave you a ton of variety of berries, and the overall size was terrific.

I admit it, I love the skin! We ordered a bucket of 8 pieces, and chose mac and cheese and cole slaw. We also ordered a side of jalapeno corn bread. There's really no good news here. The chicken was so dry inside, we couldn't eat it and thrw out all 8 pieces. The mac and cheese wasn't terrible, but I've certainly had better. It too was dry, and was basically one big piece of mac and cheese. The cole slaw was..... interesting. It was an odd pinkish color (red cabbage?) with really no sauce that I could find. Our server Jacqueline was very sweet and attentive. We had ordered a cider flight. 3 out of 6 tasted like an IPA and we asked to swap it out. They were very accommodating and swapped it without question. Our guests' Bloody Marys were strong and spicy. We tried the short rib skillet, short rib sliders, American breakfast and breakfast burrito. The short ribs were soft and tender and the garlic Parmesan potatoes were AMAZING. (My mom actually went and spoke to the event manager to make sure we could have them at my shower.) The bacon was crispy and eggs cooked perfectly. First off, I hold Tap Room to a very good standard as I have been to the Huntington and Bayshore locations and have had great experiences however I was not a fan of the Farmingdale location food wise. I went about three weeks ago and had a pretzel and a whiskey burger. The pretzel was delicious but the burger was tasteless. I thought that maybe its an off-day or something. I came back this past week and had the 20 for $20 wing special. My wings were dryer than the Sahara Desert. I chewed them and had to spit them out. I feel bad saying this but im still going to come back. The food is typically good, great deals on drinks, the staff are always friendly, but the food lately was not good. I will definitely be back for a third try.

My brother has always wanted to try this place, but we never had a chance to actually step foot inside the Library Cafe. As the name suggests, the restaurant sits at the site of the old town library, and the bar area has tall shelves and a rolling ladder to pay homage to the name. To maximize the restaurant week menu, three of us tried different appetizers. The ahi tuna taco was the best of the lot- crispy shell and nicely prepared tuna filling. The Thai calamari was a little too overcooked and the sweet sauce was cloying. I didn't get to try too much of the French onion soup because my dad almost inhaled it whole, but it was gooey and comforting. I had the honey-soy glazed salmon with broccolini. The salmon was a little dry, but the glaze and cashew went well with it. Maybe a touch of spice could have improved the dish. The broccolini was nicely textured and not too bitter. My mom's fish and chips were underwhelming, though the not-proper "chips" were well fried and seasoned. It was not served with vinegar either. My brother had the Buddha bowl which he enjoyed and felt was a good health conscious option. I did love that they allowed my dad -- who was not feeling too well-- to order just an entree while the rest of the table had the restaurant week menu. I know some restaurants require all members of the table to order off the prix fixe menu sometimes. He had the burger, which was cooked very precisely to medium-rare. We did have dessert though we were stuffed at this point. The sticky toffee pudding cake was lovely, moist, and so decadent without being overly heavy. I ordered the wild berry cheesecake, and while the clearly house made berry compote was a nice touch, it was just a little underwhelming next to the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a good time at the Library Cafe, and though service was a little slow due to sudden rush of diners, it was a fun little weekday dinner. I did see signs for their happy hour, which I'd love to try-- especially their cocktails named after writers!

Never went to a bar that needed a rolling ladder to access the top shelves. The high ceilings ( believe it was a renovated library ) even allowed for a small sailboat to be displayed above the main entrance foyer. Shout out to the staff. We were immediately welcomed by the bartender and informed we could sit anywhere rather than wait to be seated. Our server Annie was exceptional: welcoming, friendly and attentive with some appreciative suggestions from the menu. The menu, excluding the St Patrick's March Menu, was your typical American bar pub food fare: appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and limited entrees. Started off with the onions soup which was cheesy but light on onion slices but very good. Passed on the St Pats March Menu ( except for the Guinness beer ) and stuck with sandwich options. The sandwiches came with a side ( other sides available with an up charge). The sliced steak sandwich, roast beef French Dip sandwich and classic burger were all cooked to perfection and served with either a salad or waffle fries. The Library features an extensive cocktail menu with creative names of famous authors and even novels. In addition there is a separate open air event area ( above and overlooking the restaurant floor ) for private events or parties. Overall a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some good food that's reasonably priced. Definitely will be back when in the area again. One note Street parking is limited but there are municipal parking lots nearby.
