We do a coffee date every week. We try a different coffee place each week. But, sometimes we repeat a place if we really like it. We've done this now for a year and a half which means about 75 different places. Today White Rabbit Bakery in Aurora, OR went to the top of our list for a repeat visit! Friendly service! Delicious Marionberry muffin! Interesting breakfast sandwiches with the tastiest faccoci bread I've ever had!! The coffee!!! Smooth and made exactly the way I like it! In 99E and easy to get to off of I-5 Exit 278. All of the baked goods are so yummy and there are good gluten free options. This coffee, breakfast and lunch bakery is definitely worth the trip! really disappointed in the lack of quality - seems like something from a mom n' pop style diner. From what I can tell the people here lack professional training in a commercial kitchen. Popped in after my prenatal visit next store! I ordered the artichoke quiche and cup of soup! Both came out hot and the quiche was incredible!!! Mom just moved into town and I needed a coffee shop to go to when I head back to Troutdale. Stopped by to get coffee and a sandwich. Coffee is great. Ordered the ham & pineapple sandwich to go. Didn't eat the sandwich till i was half way home and saw that didn't add pineapple to it, so I responded to their square receipt stating that. While driving down 99 i Saw this little bakery and was excited to pick up some goodies to bring home with us. We stopped in only to realize that they were sold out of most of the stuff in their case. We settled on having lunch there, I ordered the pastrami sandwich and my mom asked for the turkey cranberry, they told her they were out so she settled on apple Gouda. I found this sweet little bakery and sandwich shop in 2016 and return whenever i'm in the area. It's a charming place so well suited to historic Aurora and the owners clearly take pride in their baked goods and ingredients. The gluten-free Focaccia bread to me is as good as it gets -- better than regular bread even! And the sandwiches are exceptional, filled with delicious combinations of gourmet ingredients. The white rabbit offers really great coffee and pastry and a beautiful little dining area in which you can enjoy them. My latte was made with freshly ground Guatemala coffee which had a vibrant flavor and was not bitter or watery. It was easily ten times better than any latte I've ever gotten at a coffee chain. The best part is the ever changing case full of pastry. My son selected a maple cake donut. It was perfectly moist and not too sweet. I opted for a espresso cream filled Bismarck that was literally the most delicious donut I've ever eaten in my entire life. I have never had anything that was both pastry like, and cake like. The espresso cream was the perfect balance to the pastry. It was so good I got a second one to bring to a friend because more people deserve to know about this! I also grabbed a tomato pesto galette which later served as my lunch. It was excellent as well and full of flavor. The service I got was quick and cheerful, and Tauni went the extra mile and engaged in a conversation with my son about how excited he was to see all the bunny themed decor. It made him feel special that an adult was taking the time to listen to him. He spent the drive to school telling me about what they had talked about (even though I had been standing right next to him). I have been going to this bakery since it opened nearly 8 years ago. It was the first place with gluten free options (those were sparce 8 years ago!) The staff has always been friendly and warm. The food and drink menu is pretty big and it has something for everyone. The gluten free cinnamon roll never fails to satisfy my sweet tooth! My wife and I decided to go here because of the good reviews on Yelp. We also only live about 5 minutes away so we had nothing to lose. I agree with one yelper that it is a little hard to find but if you are going the slow Aurora speed limit, you will probably see it. We decided to split a veggie sandwich because my wife isn't a big meat eater. I can honestly say that it was the best veggie sandwich that I've ever had. The bread was amazing and the pesto was perfect! I also had a white mocha americano and it was just as good as I get almost every day at Starbucks. It may have even been a touch better. The owners (I'm assuming their names are Emily and Oz) have a little boy so there was plenty around for our 1 year old to play with. We also had a cookie that was delicious but I definitely want to try a few of their tempting pastries. The price isn't the cheapest you will find but I am a big believer in "you get what you pay for." The only other thing I would like to mention is that the owners care about their community. While we were there, our neighbor who runs a food pantry also showed up. They give pastries to them every Tuesday as a contribution to the pantry. Isn't that awesome!?! Just relocated to this area recently from the Bay Area and a coworker recommended this bakery. I loved it from the second I walked in the door. It wasn't over crowded. Parking was right outside the front door and being from a large city these are the things you take for granted! Upon entering there's a case on display of goodies with gluten free identified. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich ($7.50) it was served on a crispy light focaccia bread. Everything was fresh and light with good taste. I enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the decor of the place. I can't wait to introduce this place to someone. It's quant, unique and delicious. If I am ever in the area (or passing Aurora on the freeway) I always stop here to get a coffee and a delicious gluten-free baked good. As a gluten AND sugar free person (I know, so Portland) it's a frequent annoyance that no where has gluten-free treats that are not sweet, like a biscuit or quiche. However, White Rabbit always has at least 2-3 options, not to mention all of their perfectly good sandwiches are available gluten free. Not great for my waistline, but my tastebuds are always grateful. Additionally, if you want to turn a sandwich into a salad (have it served no bread, that is) they deduct the cost of the bread! How sweet! Friendly staff, although service can be a bit slow. But hey, you're in Aurora! What could the rush be? read more

This place has its heart in the right place, which is saying something in the food desert that exists between Portland and Salem. On the other hand, its hours are extremely limited. It closes at 4 PM, and stops stocking a regular pot of coffee at 2 PM. It also has way more gluten-free options than those with gluten. I am not gluten-free, so I would prefer more conventional options, which tend to be more affordable. Moreover, I believe they heat up their quiche (which is not bad) in the microwave. A top-notch place would never do that. I wish them luck, but they could do a little better. read more
