Ok, so by now you understand this is compacted version of WRC's main store on Northwest Hwy. You can either order at the window, or more conveniently, go through 1 of their 2 drive through lanes. I love trying to pick the fastest line, and then justifying my choice to myself as I wait and realize the other line was quicker. Just like the grocery store. If you are on the lookout for a quick coffee, there is only one other place in town that I would recommend in the same breath as WRC. The coffee here is leaps and bounds better than Starbucks, and is only rivaled by Corner Market, which happens to be just down the street. Sure you might find a better coffee at La Duni or something similar, but who wants to go there when needing a quick caffeine fix. For a while, WRC was my favorite in town. As of lately, I have switched to Corner Market for two reasons: 1. While the order takers here are friendly and will spend time chatting with you, they lack the ability to comprehend and produce an order. 1 large coffee, non-fat milk, splenda. NOT DIFFICULT. Instead, I receive 1 medium coffee, black almost every time. I don't know what the deal is. 2. The coffee is just as good, if not better, at Corner Market. They have a wide selection of food to choose from, and are quick at getting me in and out as long as there is not a line. Every person working behind the counter is a pleasure to speak with daily. I do really like the blueberry muffins from here. They are worth ordering if you like blueberries. I have queried which bakery they get them from, but no one who works here knows. Since then, I have run across them, and you can message me if you really want to know where they are from (hint: its not as traditional of a bakery as one might imagine)... WRC used to be 5 stars for me, but I will only drive though twice a month now as opposed to everyday before I found Corner Market. Sorry WRC. My review has had to be lowered from 4 stars to 2 stars. The boneheads taking orders are ridiculous. I commented to my friend that they screw up my drink order every time, and when we pull up to the window after ordering (and we were the only ones in line), the "barista" asks, what did you have again? After my smart-ass reply of "coffee" and her confused look, I gave her my order 1 more time: 1 large coffee with soy milk 1 medium coffee with non-fat milk and 2 splenda In return we get: 1 medium coffee with soy milk 1 medium coffee black COME ONNNN! My husband and I are regulars and love to walk to White Rock Coffee Express from our house in Hillside :) My one complaint is I wish there was a separate pick up window or spot from the ordering window for online pick up orders. There is usually a huge line which defeats the purpose of ordering online if you have to wait in the line anyways to get your coffee. But, the staff is always super friendly and the coffee/food is great! One other comment--sometimes the breakfast sandwiches recently have not been completely heated and are frozen in the middle still.... which is not great. But, the breakfast sandwiches are amazing when they are hot! read more

My sis and I needed something warm to drink and found this little shop in the area. I ordered a CHAI LATTE and it came out way too sweet for my liking. The chai spice flavor was lacking, it was too milky, and the consistency was too thin. The sis got the ADAM BOMB with almond milk. I liked it better than my chai latte, but honestly it was nothing spectacular. I could taste the cinnamon and white chocolate and it was sweet. After stumbling upon this adorable coffee drive they on accident, it has quickly become my go to when I'm in the neighborhood. The coffee is always consistently, make that consistently delicious! Not only is the staff easily the friendliest crew out of all the coffee joints in town, they are quick. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for my coffee no matter how busy they are. The coffee is cheaper than Starbucks and in my opinion it is on par taste wise. I'd vote to go here any day of the week in an effort to support local businesses! read more

First time costumer: I went up to the intercom, no answer, so i drive up to the window, there is now a long line behind me. I come up to the window see the cashier has coffee in hand and I tell him its not mine I tried stopping at the intercom but assumed to drive up with no answer. Anyways he starts shaking his head 'no' looks annoyed. Asks what my order is, I let him know. Tells who I assume is the manager I didnt order at the intercom, she tells him to tell me to go back around in line, after he already took my order. Wow really? The guy didnt even apologize for the inconvenience of waiting in line for nothing. This is not good customer service. Sticking to Starbucks. The owner needs to hire better people that enjoy their job. They just lost a costumer and I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I love this place! The veggie breakfast sandwich is so good that I will literally punch someone for it. Okay maybe not but it is really delicious and it's hard to find vegetarian food that isn't bland and boring and gross. The coffee drinks are delicious and the staff is super friendly. I've tried a lot of "serious" coffee places in Dallas (and there are several good ones). I rank WRCE's basic brewed black coffee in the top three in town (after Oddfellows and Cultivar Coffee Co). I've no opinion on any fancy-pants options, but if you want COFFEE, not a milky, sweety, foamy coffee-like concoction, WRCE is great. Drive through can be slow if there's a long line. If I'm in a hurry, I get out of the car and go to the window. No big deal. They're extremely friendly. And if you're pooch is in the car, they can get a treat too! read more

I don't know why this place doesn't get better reviews. First off, it's a drive thru coffee place people. There are like, 5 of those in Dallas and you have to wait forever regardless if it's a Starbucks or not. Secondly, they have the nicest people working at the windows! Honestly, the girl I talked to this morning was so sweet and friendly, it was a pleasant way to start my morning. And finally, I love their white mochas! Always love coming to this location for the iced vanilla chai latte, it is by far one of the best! All of their drinks are usually amazing and the staff is friendly. If you want more than just a drink, try one of the homemade treats especially the zucchini bread which is yummy! read more

I like the coffee here and the people are friendly. But, I'm giving it two stars because the drive thru process is a disaster. They recently changed the setup so you circle the building to pay and receive the coffee from a single window. They used to operate both windows and service was much faster. To make things worse, the way to get into line is not clearly marked so people think they can queue up in the wrong direction and expect those who line up the right way to let them in. I avoid going here when I can - it used to be a daily stop for me. read more

I have been a regular here for the past 5 years. They used to have two drive up windows, but it seems ever since they reduced down to one window it takes an insanely long time to get your coffee. It consistently takes 30 minutes or more to order my coffee in the morning. I absolutely love this coffee and purchase the whole beans for my espresso machine at home, but I'm simply going to have to find a new coffee shop in town if they cannot figure out how to make the drive through faster. read more

I can't believe I am writing "take me to Starbucks" any day over this place! I don't even love Starbucks. Pearl Coffee house has my heart, just wish it was closer to my house and had a drive-thru. I've been wanting to try this place. I live a block away so this morning I had a few extra minutes to spare and thought why not. I wish I would have kept on going and not wasted $3.85. Hell, I could have bought a tank of gas and driven to Plano to find better coffee...or better yet, across the street at Starbucks and I'm not even a Starbucks fan but this morning, it seems superior. Being my first time and not being acquainted with the menu I asked for a few seconds before ordering. When I had a question, I had to sit outside saying "Hello...Hello....Helllloooo...is anyone in there???" - That should have been my clue to drive off. When they finally did come on the speaker a man and woman were laughing from inside. Ok, at least they are having fun at their job. Obviously, taking care of customers comes second place. I ordered the Sugar Free White Chocolate Latte with Non-fat milk....I think, it all happened so fast. They told me to pull forward. I waited at the window for almost 5 minutes while I saw people on the other side come and go with their coffees. When a guy came to the window and finally handed me my coffee he asked me if I had paid yet. Yeah, I can see why you wouldn't know that since I've been sitting here no one has spoken to me or even acknowledged me for that matter. I asked him what I ordered and he said "I don't know, you ordered it" and made a comment that the other lady made it. I saw her put whip cream in a coffee so I tasted it, opened my latte up and saw whip cream. I told him I ordered a non-fat latte and he said the whip cream was non-fat. OK, whatever, just get me home now.... The flavor of the latte is VERY bland. I enjoy the flavor of coffee and it tastes like warm milk with some sweetness. I can see why one of the other Yelpers who said she wasn't a coffee drinker liked this coffee. While I sit here drinking my $3.85 warm milk, I am thinking about going to my kitchen and adding a packet of VIA, Starbucks instant coffee! Yeah, I think that sounds like a good idea...now making my coffee even more expensive. Thank God I don't have an addiction to these places! Shoes on the other hand...different story! I have been going here for SEVERAL months now- almost half a year. Personally, I never enjoyed the taste of coffee. However, I got to taste the coffee that the staff at this location, specifically, make and I have got to tell you- it's heavenly. ALL of the staff are extremely sweet and do whatever it takes to make each and every customer's visit wonderful to the best of their ability. I am new to the Dallas area and had a spark of inspo to try something local other than that global chain we all know and somewhat love. I'd heard good things about White Rock from a certain Instagram influencer #iykyk and decided to check it out! I went on a Saturday @ 10 and the line wasn't long and went by fast. I have a feeling that was luck though because as I was exiting the line wrapped around the parking lot I ordered the pecan coffee cake and an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, I kno I kno, basic. I absolutely loved the coffee cake muffin - at first bite I thought it was pretty bland but then I realized the real star of the show is the pecans and the sugar (should've known, ha!) I will say though, I think there's something better to order for a drink than the one that I got. It tasted pretty watered down and flavorless. That being said, I would definitely go back for the muffin and tweak my drink order some - with a line like that there's gotta be something I'm missing! read more

I hate to write an unfavorable review of an establishment after just one visit, but I feel that this place deserves it. They didn't get anything terribly wrong. They're just nothing special. I would have been better off going to Starbucks. I stopped by because there was a "Check-In Offer" for $0.50 off, which was not much, but it was something. Pros: There's a drive-thru. They use unsweetened soy milk. Their menu has a nice variety of beverages and snacks. Cons: The prices for coffee are Starbucks / Pearl Cup prices: $4 for a medium soy latte. I asked for a chocolate croissant, but they don't carry them. I asked for a regular croissant, which was on their menu, but they were out. I then asked for a bagel, but they were also out of those. I found it very strange that a coffee shop would run out of breakfast food on a Monday morning. I don't think I'll return. read more

Well this coffee place has been on my mind for a while. I am a strong tea drinker so anyone with a bunch of tea options is right up my alley. I ordered the green tea chai and I must say it was not good at all. I did not even drink it. Plus, they are really slow. I am not sure if it they are not prepared or they just are jumbled up. The place is really small so maybe they were just off that day and cramped. My friend ordered a latte and she said it was not that good. It seems to me like this place has a good idea of quick supposedly good coffee. It's just not quick and they are confused. The only good thing is that they are nice just absent minded. I've been here enough to assess White Rock Coffee as a 3-star coffeehouse. Honestly, the drinks aren't all that good. I've had a white mocha, a White Rocker (a caramel and mocha latte), and an iced White Rocker. All my drinks were just ok. I couldn't really taste the flavors or the coffee. They don't knock my socks off any more than Starbucks. This location only has a drive thru and walk-up window. I've only been on weekends and it can get really crowded. The service is average, it may take a couple of minutes after pulling up to the pay window to get your drink. Anywho, there are many other Dallas original coffeehouses on my list so I won't be back to White Rock. Besides, there's a Starbucks across the street. read more

This is more of a coffee stand and not a coffee shop and probably shouldn't be judged by the same standards. I will/do still go here but IMO, it falls short. Good points: Drive-thru and they can replicate the quality beverages from the main location. Bad points: Everything else. S-L-O-W: One of the main reasons to go to a drive-thru is for speed. You are actually physically in your car on your way someplace else while making this purchase. Gottago gottago. I have pulled out of the line several times because of time. It also stinks to be the only customer and they've taken not only my order but my $ and then five minutes later still no drink. Ugh. It was my first time trying this place and the girl somehow knew and thanked me profusely for my business, even though I only got a small latte. Speaking of the latte, it was GOOD! I got a caramel latte and it was, IMHO, better than the more expensive "caramel brulee" version from Starbucks. The espresso tastes richer and the syrup is not too sweet. I feel I must echo the sentiment of other Yelpers to defend this coffee stand. GET OUT OF YOUR CAR. This isn't the Starbucks in Plano. Yes, drive-through seems convenient, but it is never quicker. Not even at Starbucks, in my experience. Your service will be more efficient and friendly if you get out of your car. I know, it's Dallas and that's a scary possibility to consider, but just try it. At any rate, I dig WRCC. Friendly service, well-roasted, not burned coffee, and on Valentine's day, they make a little heart in the foam on your latte. Aww. They also make an excellent iced coffee, which is an endangered species in these parts. Today I went for my normal coffee run and went to this place in the drive thu. I ordered my ice Mocha Latte and when it arrived I tasted it and it was way to strong for me I couldn't even drink it. I went home and had to add more creamer to it and some more sweetener and yet it was still to sting . I had to end up throwing it away because I cannot stand the taste of it. I think I will stay at my Starbucks where I can't even drink my drink without throwing it away. read more

This is the second White Rock Coffee store, a compact copy of the original on Northwest Highway, just northeast of White Rock Lake. The new location, best described as a coffee stand, sits in the middle of a parking lot on the north-east corner of Mockingbird & Abrams. With a drive-through window on each side of the building and a walk-up window on the front, it definitely lives up to its Express name. BUT, express doesn't mean bad. The coffee here is the same served at their original location, roasted themselves, and brewed with real coffee and express machines; not the push-button robots as found in most Starbucks. They also have a decent selection of pastries and other baked goods. I had a small soy latte and a slice of lemon pound cake. The latte was very good (but still out-shined by the Pearl Cup) and the lemon pound cake hit the spot for a quick breakfast. Oh, did I mention the hours? They open at 5:00 AM during the week. (Yes, FIVE o'clock) That's thirty minutes earlier than the Starbucks located on the other side of Abrams. The coffee stand isn't officially open, yet. On my visit, they only had a small sign on the side of the building. There is a large sign post in front, but the top is empty, for now. The walk-up area is surrounded by a small patio that sits empty, as of now, but looks as if it would have room for a couple tables. They were also giving out 50¢ coupons good during the soft-opening period. Despite this, I didn't have any problems with the service, the food, or anything else. (Well, aside from the walk up window being about 6 inches too low for my 6' 1" self!) read more

Unlike a previous review that I wrote about Starbucks, the management here knows and understands people and for that they have earned my business for life. I messed up and ordered a hot drink (meant iced) and he gave me both instead of letting it go to waste. 10 star place and I will recommend to every single person I know. I'm so happy. This is a lovely coffee stand on Mockingbird and Abrams. They roast their coffee fresh which is what initially turned me on to this place. Most coffee shops have stale coffee beans that have been sitting on the shelf for years. Not WRCE. The coffee was very smooth and tasted as a fresh roasted cup should: smooth with no need for sugar or cream (opposite of this is typical Starbucks where they burn their beans to hell in order to get a uniform flavor across their world market). I will be back for more coffee but this place does not get the 5th star because of their short hours! I am a late night coffee drinker and would like to see it open past 6. read more
