The service here is incredible!!! I was so impressed with the attention I received, especially traveling by myself for work. The sushi was so fresh and expertly prepared. I got the spicy tuna roll and the Caterpillar roll, both delicious and served with a small portion of seaweed salad with each sushi roll. I've had a lot of incredible sushi from Boston to LA (I've lived everywhere) and this place is awesome. I also got a huge and wonderful pot of tea to enjoy with my meal, and a complimentary cucumber salad they were testing out that night. The servers made it clear that I was welcome to relax and stay as long as I needed in order to finish my huge pot of tea. It's obvious that they are so passionate about their food and the whole dining experience. I'm glad I ventured outside of downtown Fort Collins for this awesome restaurant. It was a nice relaxing break from my busy work schedule. Next time I'm back in the area for work, I will make it a point to visit White Tree again soon. read more

I was craving sushi and found this place on the map. There's a ton of sushi places that offer "good authentic sushi," but if you're looking for an absolutely phenomenal sushi experience, I highly recommend this place. Stopped by at around 4pm on a Saturday and the place was practically empty. I was seated extremely promptly by the waiter. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura as an appetizer along with three separate rolls. They serve Miso soup complementary, which is again phenomenal! (Both the soup and the service!) I didn't have to wait long for the Shrimp Tempura to arrive. I've had shrimp tempura in the past at "authentic" places. But the other place's breading was flakey and flavorless. The Shrimp Tempura here at White Tree is 10/10. The sauce it is served with pairs extremely well and has a slight spice. The rolls arrived shortly after I finished enjoying the Shrimp Tempura. I ordered the Super Dragon Roll, the Philadelphia Roll, and Rock N Roll Roll. All three tasted amazing! It was like I was actually back in Japan enjoying sushi again. Extremely fresh and flavorful. If you're ever in the area and are craving sushi, definitely stop in to White Tree! 10/10! read more

Although the servers were sweet, the service was painfully slow. It took 20 minutes to get our tea and a full 30 minutes to get our sashimi appetizer - which was frozen..bits of ice. The remainder of our food came a full hour after ordering. It was painful waiting, we were very hungry at this point and no one apologized to us or even acknowledged the insane wait. I contemplated walking out and in retrospect wish we did. The sushi was dreadful. We asked for our check and after we paid they delivered a hamachi roll they "forgot" about. My boyfriend and I sat down at 6:30, ordered by 6:35, and sat over an hour waiting for our food. The restaurant was less than 50% full at the time and was promising based on how small and cute it was-there was even a robot to deliver the food. We realized about 30 minutes in-that our order was never even put in when our server (said Amy K on the receipt) asked us what we ordered again. We continued to watch everyone who arrived after us receive their food far before we did and our server ignored us for the rest of the evening;it seemed like she knew she messed up but didn't want to take accountability for it, especially because she talked to everyone else but us while we were there. We received 4/5 rolls and then we realized she forgot something and it took another 20 minutes to get the last roll. The only reason this place gets any stars is because the woman making the rolls, who I believe was the owner, was extremely nice and hand delivered the last roll, and for a place so far from any ocean, the sushi was actually pretty decent. Granted we never got the spicy mayo or extra ginger we asked for and the sushi was pretty bland. She did end up giving us a free treat at the end for the inconvenience. I just wish the server would've taken accountability and made the problem right rather than avoiding it all together and making the chef/owner come out and resolve anything. We felt like we were very nice and understanding of the delays from the beginning and she was just extremely disrespectful . We still ended up paying almost $90 for 5 rolls which seemed a bit pricey for the service and quality. We would give it another shot in the future maybe for lunch or something if we knew it was a one off experience, but I don't know if it's worth the 2nd chance. Definitely don't come here if you're on any sort if time crunch. read more

Update after dining in: ALL THE STARS. Service is super friendly and the sashimi is great!! I'm confused about the emptiness of the place each time I have been in; they must not be on everyone's radar yet (which is totally ok with me). We went in and got some yellowtail and salmon nigiri, caterpillar roll, and the chefs special and got totally hooked up with some awesome cuts! For what we paid it was a total steal. I couldn't believe it. The only thing that bothered me slightly was that there was no low-sodium soy sauce and we didn't get a chance to ask if they had tamari available (my friend is gluten-sensitive). This place is so close to where we live. I had walked in awhile ago, and the ambiance was chill and relaxing. Long story short, I don't know if it was an off night, but we weren't approached with even a drink order for almost 25 minutes. Our waitress seemed swamped and any other help was not on hand to help. I'm not sure if there was a call out on help, or they weren't expecting the amount of customers for a Thursday. On the food level- there was was too much rice in the rolls, and they fell apart with chop sticks. There was a good amount of sushi, just unbalanced. Easy jazz music is playing in a cozy contemporary setting. Elegance ends with the plastic plates. Don't fall for "anything to drink? Tea, water?" We were shocked to be charged $5 for a pot of tea! Sushi is fresh and you'll even get a nice flower as garnish. A pinch of ginger doesn't cut it for me, so we asked for more. No choice of low sodium soy sauce, but you do get complimentary miso soup, which was on the salty side. No bits of tofu in the soup. Art form of the rolls are lacking if that matters to you. What is lacking in finesse would have been improved with the stickiness of the rice. The bits of rice which doesn't quite bind together doesn't give the rolls a nice round uniform shape. Function over form here. I had rolls which had sauce over them. Big mistake but if you like your rolls slathered with sauce, then this is for you. Personally I prefer the simplicity of my protein to speak for themselves. Service was very efficient but it can get crazy on a busy night. This is my new favorite sushi place in Fort Collins. Absolutely impeccably fresh and delicious fish, delightful mussels and extraordinary service. The mussels were baked to perfection and perfectly sweet and slightly spicy. The volcano roll was such an amazing adventure of fish and roe and toppings, we were delighted. The yellowtail and scallop rolls were to die for...LARGE rolls with substantial pieces of fish in each. The rolls had a somewhat undone, slightly informal look to them and I am pretty sure that's part of what made them so delicious. My boyfriend noted that he could taste the ocean in the mussels. Our waiter was prompt and very attentive, and gave truly excellent service. I have never had such delicious, sublime scallops. We will be going back for sure. I was in the mood for some delicious ramen and sushi so thought we'd give this place a whirl. The ambiance was fantastic! Evening setting, a piano playing in the background with lovely art work painted on the wall. The Katsu Dan (fried chicken and rice) was delicious and flavorful. The sushi was good with sticky rice and well portioned for the price. My only disappointment was the beef ramen. The beef was terrible ,hard to chew and full of fat. We have been going here since White Tree opened and WERE somewhat regular customers. While we enjoy the food most visits, the service has gotten deplorable. Last week we went and there were only 3 other tables of people. Half of our order was forgot, and we got our drinks after our food arrived (at least 20 min after ordering). We have been yelled at, more than once, by our server for ordering off the kids menu for our 10 year old even though the kids menu says 12 and under. We won't be going back anytime soon as we've had similar experiences the last few times we've eaten at White Tree. I don't like forking out over $100 only to be treated so poorly each time we visit. read more

The transparent noodles were different and fun. Service was owners were very friendly. I had the green tea and it had a hint of roasted rice to the flavor. One thing you need to know about the tea, make sure you let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes or you will be drinking hot water. My bad. I would recommend this place.
