I honestly don't know what anyone is doing going to anyone else if you have a Volkswagen or a Audi. He's the most honest mechanic I've ever dealt with. He's never hit me with weird fees and is always upfront with what he thinks the project is going to be. He also does a really good job in explaining what's actually going on with your car. He's also upfront with whether there's a clear repair or if there's trouble shooting. The only issue with going to Brent is that he's super busy and you're not going to get the same turn around that you would in a commercial shop; but I just see that as the trade off for honest service and reasonable pricing. The transparency is so nice. I've been going to him for years. He's the only person I trust with my pink bug and he needs more press. read more

Fixed my Audi there. The price was significantly less expensive than other repair dealers. The owner seemed to genuinely love working on Audi's and vw cars. The location is next to Nancy's nook and be careful pulling in or out during rush hour. Traffic on Oceana can bd busy. The lot has lots of fixers in various states of repair. Do not let that scare you away. We were dealt with professionalism and he informed of all the options and prices. Big thumbs up. I was wondering why there weren't more excellent reviews for this place, and then I realized that most of them have been filtered out. Kudos to yelp's wonderful magical algorithm, it seems to weed out unhelpful reviews! //sarcasm N E way, assuming this review doesn't get filtered out and most folks can read this without having to type/regurgitate some ridiculous captcha image, I have to say this place and the owner are AWESOME. I have a VW golf, and let's just say, it's been through some thangs. Worried about the outrageous prices the dealership would charge and faced with the possibility of letting my car go and having monthly payments (*tear), I decided to bring the ol' girl in to see what magic could be done. I am happy I did. Mr. Whitehead (Brent) really did a good job. He really explains things bit by bit as to what is wrong with the car and what can be done to fix it up. This guy is the best Volkswagen mechanic in town. Period. Even guys at the dealership have recommended him. He deals just with the problem at hand, but does it beautifully, and for much less money than the dealership. His shop is not fancy, but he knows Volkwagens and Audis inside-out. He has caught the root of a problem in 20 minutes, what another mechanic couldn't find out, in weeks. I have only spoken to the owner, I assume, which is Brent and I am confident this is where I will be taking my VW Beetle to be diagnosed and serviced. He was upfront with pricing and also let me know what the servicing I was requesting would include. He seems to be very knowledgeable and very informative. He also let me know that he has a lot of vehicles to service at this time, and when would be a better time to have my car towed in. A BIG PLUS, especially when some will take your car and not get to it for 2 days or rush through the service! "This VW repair facility kept a Passat for 2 months, kept diagnosing the diagnosis. Finally he milked us for $ 260.00 and then sent us to another place Car Life Transmissions on Newtown for ANOTHER $ 170.00 diagnosis for a $2000 - $ 5000 estimate. ha ha. This garage has a ton of cars outside, nothing being worked and being moved along and couldn't fix this Passat. They are right outside the military "gate". Be VERY cautious with this character, especially a mechanical problem. Don't trust them." read more

He was able to fix specific parts of my car that I was certain needed fixed, but when I began to have engine issues, I towed my car to him numerous times within a month regarding the same check engine light. He kept clearing it and saying to "keep an eye on it", but he could not give a clear answer. I paid each time for little fixes that he thought were the issue, but each time, a vague answer was given or I was told that a thorough look was not given to save me money. After wasting money on numerous tows, not being given a clear answer as to what was specifically wrong, and being told that it would probably be best to just sell it, I brought it to someone to discover within minutes that I simply needed new coils. I am not sure why this was not easy to identify. I wasted money on tows and repairs that I really did not need regarding the check engine light since ultimately, it was a coil issue. He's knowledgeable regarding Volkswagen's, but I think he just has a lot of traffic at the shop, which takes away time to thoroughly look at incoming vehicles. He was often busy and did not check out specific things I needed quotes on as a result of this. I will not be returning, but besides the tows and unnecessary fixes regarding the check engine light, he did successfully repair other little things I needed done to the car, which I appreciate. I do not have much knowledge regarding car repairs, so I would definitely advise someone who knows a lot about vehicles to come in with you to make sure that you are not shelling out money that you really do not need to spend. read more

Whitehead Auto repair is truly amazing. I used to go to the dealership to get my 2008 Jetta serviced; however a whole back, they wanted a ridiculous amount of money to replace my radiator fans. I found Whitehead Auto on Yelp and decided to try it out. Not only was it way less than the dealership, he also tuned up a few minor things just because he saw them when he was replacing the fans (no charge). I have had other work done, and every time he explains the mechanics in a understandable way, only fixes what actually needs to be fixed, finds the most affordable parts and is extremely reasonable on labor. I am moving at the end of the month and am truly going to miss this Volkswagen repair shop, because it truly is the best. read more
