The place is really awesome they have so many options of what type of bike you want either mountain bike, electric bike, fixies BMX, racing bikes and when they repaired your bike it comes out better than you bought it. The owner of the shop was not a nice person. We waited outside even though the sign on the door said 5 customers were allowed in. My daughter and I brought in 2 bikes to get new inner tubes installed. As we waited our turn, other customers were coming for pickups and he would address them. He took the bikes but I am not sure he was happy about it. We observed him addressing a woman about charges on a ticket with no detail. Her uncle has walked to White s from some distance, he was disabled. He sent some people away. I told him that I had an additional bike that needed a tuneup and he said "sure my worker would be able to handle on Wednesday" ( this was Saturday). On Wednesday, we picked up the bikes and I brought the last bike, he would not consider the repair on the bike as promised. On Wednesday I watched him be disrespectful to an customer who just wanted to purchase a bike chain. This person was also disabled. This person had not been disrespectful to him. I couldn't understand why he had an attitude. You as a owner of a business should have better customer service. Don't push customers away, retire. read more

Have spent well over 500$ with this place in parts alone not adding the bikes took my fit bmx to get worked bought grips and a new chain link guy from the back starts bantering on about nonsense that my chain is no good to buy one i refused then customer servicecwent to crap. I wanted to wait a week before writing this review. Originally, I was going to buy one online, but a) i couldn't wait and b) buying a bicycle is special to me, and it just seemed wrong not to buy one from the LBS, and c) i believe in buying local always, and nothing beats a traditional brick and mortar mom and pop shop from the old days. The owners, Randy and Sharon, were very pleasant and easy to talk to about cycling. I went in looking for a simple commuter, single speed, and I left with an American Flyer Skinny Benny. After a week, the bike is solid, and its been fun riding about again. I know I'm going back for upgrades and when I buy a 29ner. Great selection of bikes. Totally recommend. read more

Went to Whites Bike today to buy a crank and bearing set for wife's bike. Employee was relaxing in a chair and got up to assist me. He put several cranks on the counter and walked off saying that this is "your project, good luck with it, I have my own project" He never came back to help me. Instead he handed me off to a younger employee who was very helpful. Another employee also came around to help and he too was very helpful. The rude one was still moaping around stating that "HE" has a project to do!" The helpful employee commented to him "you never finish any project!" Ive gone in and bought boxes from them to ship my personal bikes I have sold, they've helped me find parts Ive needed and even the lady seems knowledgeable about bikes... I once took in what I thought was a 19mm spindle and she looked at it and said it looked like a 20mm spindle to her and sure enough it was.. About a year and a half ago when the fixie bike were barely getting popular. I inquired about fixies and all I got was hate about it. The lady owner (i think) said They suck I don't know why people like them. I remember her saying that they won't be selling them. I was like okay that was rude and thinking that I won't be coming back here again. But recently my mountain bike needed a part and was to lazy to go to a father bike shop. So I came back and first thing I noticed is that they started selling fixies. So again I inquired about fixies and the lady was so uninterested in my questions about the fixies. I felt like I was unwanted so I just walked out not even bothering to get the part I needed. I ended up going to NEIGHBORHOOD CYCLERY down in heacock.(they are so much nicer and appreciate different taste in bikes) I should have known not to comeback to whites bikes. They are over price and doesn't appreciate peoples taste in different types of bikes.(they are not true bike enthusiast) I believe they only sold fixies because alot of customer probably ask if they sell them. read more

The old man owner is a cranky man who accused my son of intentionally breaking a part on his bike when we took his bike in for a repair on a recently purchased part! After recently taking my bike in to have a flat tire replaced ( a newish bike, I didnt know how to unlock the brakes on this bike), staff was mostly friendly; a bit rude, but not in a mean way, just kind of in your face. They replaced the tube, all was well. I poked and squeezed it, it was fine. I had had someone drive me to them, as I dont drive, and we drove home. The next day, I get on my bike and (being a less than stellar bicyclist) didn't check to make sure my brakes had been re-locked. They hadn't been. Nearly crashed. Called up the store and asked them what to do, the owner said that it was IMPOSSIBLE that his people had left it unlocked. That I must have unlocked it by accident. REFUSED point blank to accept any responsibility, saying that I could not come after them legally because I couldn't prove that his people had made a mistake; that I had done it. He told me that I could bring it in and PAY to have them re-lock the brakes. eventually had someone else help me. it turned out to be very simple, and something he easily could have told me how to do over the phone ( find the lever, flip it down, brakes now work). While I understand the concept of cover your ass, there is a point that it is too far overboard and helping people should be a higher priority than alienating them and refusing to accept responsibility. read more

Stopped in today, needed my rear wheel straightened. He did an amazing job, it's as straight as it can be. He also had a pair of 90 mm grips, which was awesome. Not only do they sell grips, but they will trim them to size. I'm not going to amazon for parts anymore. At least with White's Bikes, I can get quality parts, unlike amazon. Try to go when the younger guy is there. We took my grandsons bike in a couple of weeks ago cause the screw or whatever at the hub was stuck, younger guy said no problem I can do that, no charge. I pulled out a ten to tip him cause I run my own business and know to appreciate customer service and performance. I hear the old guy scold him in the back that we don't do work for free, we'd be out of business. (I agree with that but you don't scold him and def not loud enough for everyone to hear) so two min later the young man came out and said that'd be 5 dollars. I still gave him the 10. Been in twice since, getting grips and something else. Nice lady and nice younger guy. Now this weekend went in with my other grandson with the same issue of screw stuck at the hub. Unfortunately it was only the nice lady and the old man which we think is the owner. we wait for a good 20 min while they are nicely helping a young man buying a bike. Taking his picture and so forth. Then he goes to us and asks what he can do for us, we tell him and he quickly and rudely says "We don't do that kind of work anymore, but I can sell you a new rim for 109." I looked shocked and he responds well I'm sure you might find a shop that will do it but we don't mess with that stuff any more. So we left and I doubt we return for anything unless we see it's the younger guy or nice lady or just desperate. A 2 min job for 5 dollars or 10 is still profit you didn't already have and worth the trouble building customer service and retention for possibly the big sell down the road. Reading some of the other reviews on you, You may have been around for 33 yrs but I think you forgot what your business is or should be about or maybe you lost the love for it. I went in there and i was asked about a technical question about rebuilding my stem for a fixed gear restoration. basically he belittled my project and told me that was better buying a new bike. He said that he does not even let his staff rebuild bikes because it is so difficult. he was probably right and had a good point. but he speaks too forcefully and sharp. Great place to get a bike or service done. I brought my stroller in for tire check up about 2 years ago and the fix was something simple that they fixed at no charge and they put air in all 3 tires. I came back because they where so polite and kind the first time and it always stayed in mind. I had all the tire tubes replaced at a good price. Customer service was great and I love shopping small or family owned business. Check them out if you need a new bike or a fix up. read more

They've been in business for decades for a reason. They have a great selection of bikes and bike stuff, two full time expert mechanics, and they're willing to chit chat about my needs and wants even if I'm not sure what it is I'm looking for. Whites bike is a very family orientated type of bike store. I'm an amateur bike rider thanks to my soon to be teenager with her sudden interest in bike riding. After having been to 3 different bike stores in the Riverside area I came to the realization that I was gonna spend a fortune on 3 bikes a trailor for my 3 yr old and bike rack. Whites bikes hands down has the best deals and all around prices in town. There staff didn't pressure us into selling the most expensive bike matter of fact they went above and beyond to figure out which type of bike best suite our needs and wants. They even provided a quick tutorial for my wife,daughters,& I to make sure we knew how to properly ride and maintain our new bikes. On top of all that it was crunch time Saturday 5:45pm (memorial weekend) they close at 6pm bikes where just purchased and I have a SUV so I needed a bike rack to take the bikes home they knew I had no clue how to install the rack let alone how to load the bikes. There staff Randy, Sherry, Mike,& Jose huddled up delayed there memorial weekend and stayed working till 8pm just to install my bike rack and made sure I knew how to properly load my bikes. NEGATIVE 5 STARS- So I come to this small mom and pop shop every so often , I spent some good hard earned dollars here on a Matt black beach cruiser which works great the owner has always been very rude not just to potential and proven customers but also to his wife. He yells at her and puts her down as if he believes she is inferior to him (in front of customers) which is not good for business, it's actually very awkward ... Although the customer service has never been welcoming or pleasant I still chose to come back time after time again for little parts that I needed. Today me and my three children ages 16,14 and 3 went for a Sunday bike ride and my son got a flat , so we stopped by whites to purchase a 10$ tube, We the wife said that we could not change the tube in front of her store?? But they would do it for 10$ ....... (Why would I pay someone 10$ to do a 3min job that I am capable of doing?) After she said I could not do it in front of her shop!!?? so at this point I am done with this rude little hole in the wall , I went and gave autozone my money for fix a flat and bought a tube From Walmart. When this shop closes I am sure it will not be missed. I have always been for supporting our small local business but with attitudes that the "whites bikes" owners give I will no longer support them. I went to this bike shop hoping I could sit on a couple road bikes so I could know the height I needed before purchasing one but instead of receiving help I was insulted and disrespected. I told the older man that worked there that I needed help knowing my height on a bike because I have seen some bikes online and they had different requirements for the range of heights. He told me that he would not help me and that he did not want to help so I could buy a bike online (I never said I was buying on online). So I was headed towards the door to leave and he told me be smart girl you don't come into a store to get help use your head. I was pretty furious because he could have easily shown me a bike or asked to compare prices. Who knows maybe I would like a bike from there and purchase one there but he apparently didn't use his head in this situation. Never going back there again. I do not recommend unless you like rude customer service. read more
